據現代漢語詞典,度(第13個解釋)指:過(時間",所以使用度假是沒有錯.而當中是有字詞寫"度假"--過假日的意思.
而"渡"是指通過(1),和渡口(3)的意思.

「度過」係指「度過」假期、時間、光陰或者人生，

你喺搜尋器打上「度假屋」佢都會指返你去「渡假屋」
「度」呢個字有兩個讀音，一個讀「鐸」，另一個讀「杜」，讀作「鐸」係動詞，例如「猜度」「量度」，讀作「杜」係名詞，而且只有一個解釋，例如「難度」「溫度」「程度」
