It's clear that escapist television has many great shows, usually ones you find on during prime time - the 24's etc. While entertaining in their own right, realism in television with regard to sophistication, underlying messages, clever writing, and great acting is what true TV is about. In my opinion, only 3 shows have accomplished this: The Sopranos, The Wire and Breaking Bad.

Once you start studying filmmaking and screenwriting your realize how The Sopranos was just mindblowing-ly good. All I could think of was the Sopranos theme for the whole trip. I don't smoke, yet jokingly thought about lighting up a Cigar as I was grabbing a ticket at the Turnpike entry. Believe me, I do not advocate anything on this show, but it is cool to know where all those places are on the intro, because I love the real NJ (not depicted on this show).
