My 08' WRX has been a total POC. If it hadn't been under warranty, I think it's probably had $5000 worth of work done to it. New Crank position sensor, ECU, Injectors, and now clutch at 36,000 miles.

About to take my 08 STI on a 6000km run from Melbourne, Australia, up into Queensland and back down again.

The hatchback rocks! It's great on the track, but the hatch makes it useable for long trips... makes it really practical.

I suspect in the future with both hatchback and sedans available, the hatchback will be the biggest seller.

@m0mbuster Oh well, i just drove my MY08 STI Melbourne to north queensland and back (5800kms in 2 weeks). Brilliant car for our crappy country roads (Newell Hwy is completely wrecked after the recent floods... bumpy and potholed). I love my STI! (although a few potholes made me whince - imagining a shattered wheel).

Total respect and love for my STI after that trip, and the hatchback is great for carrying all my holiday junk! Averaged 9.4l/100km over the trip BTW... not bad at all!

@jeffreyboy14 all real rally cars are hatchbacks. always have been. From Audi Quattro S1 to Lancia Delta Intergrale to Toyota Celica GT-Four. Hatchbacks have better weight distribution and handle better. Whoever made a sedan rally car should be put in prison. Plus the hatch is so much more functional than a dumbass little sedan

(2) make the rear lights look at least like the hatch

(3) remove the vinyl interior and use e.g. felt, leather, carbon fibre

(4) make the vents round instead of square

i personally like the 2006-2007 look of the impreza. i dont understand why the hell they changed the look in 2008? its just too plan looking and boring. i have an sti from 06 and i LOVE it and love the look and i was hoping for a new look in 2011 and this just... idk its nice but... subaru needs to change the look if not back to 06 07 then to something else.
