  • Let me get this straight.......Richard Simmons helped this man lose 700 LBS and he allowed himself to gain all of that back? It's hard to have compassion for someone with so little desire or drive.

  • There's so much that doctors can do for fat patients. If you decide to weight over 300 pounds knowing you having difficulty walking and performing basic duties, then who's fault is it?

I'm too over 300 pounds and I don't blame anybody but myself because I put myself in this madness. So, I decided to turn my life around and stop at 346 pounds.

Within a month and half I lost 8 pounds and my body tone down some. Though, the process was very painful, but it was well worth it. I feel better.

  • I realte SO much to these people.

I ma about 270 or so but my body fat .. i feel about 350. i rarely leave my house. i walk my dog twice a day both when its dark out.

i just enver wanna be out when its daylight.

i spend hours on here and watchin tv or asleep i dont really DO much of anything.

  • To come out with statements like "it's 70% not your fault that you're disgustingly overweight" is telling people what they want to hear and justifying their weight and further weight gain. 20 years ago, it still would have been 70% not one's own fault yet there was only a fraction of morbidly obese people compared to today, and only a fraction 20 years before that. What people eat and how they live is the ONLY reason for the obesity epidemic - stop sugar-coating (hahaha) this truth

  • I wish these doctors would explain themselves adequately. One isn't overweight DIRECTLY because of genes. One is overweight because of overeating. Your genes are INDIRECTLY responsible because they determine whether you naturally want to overeat or not. But no matter what, a person can still lose weight if he takes control over the addiction- just like alcoholism. No cure, but you can manage it.

  • Exactly...thank you

  • How terrible and humiliating for that poor man more people should learn compassion.

  • Micheal hebranko will never learn to stop eating fat.

  • I hope he's doing ok now. I really hope he lost at least half the weight in his body since this incident happened two years ago. Either that or he will die.
