  • Angela, how did you create the mottled effect in the green areas? It's kind of spotty and i really like that.

  • @lmjacobs Hello, to create that spotted look all i did was added a darker green paint and blotted it in various sections. Im glad u like it. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting.

  • I tried making a textured area with tracing paper and adhered it with matte medium and it gets air bubbles underneath the paper, Do you just leave the air bubbles in there? I tried tissue paper once before and the paper kept tearing and getting stuck to the brush. Do you only have one layer of paper on the canvas or multiple layers? Help!

  • @sashamommy I'd just leave the air bubbles. I think i may give it an interesting effect. as for the tissue paper i usually just use only one layer. I put a thin layer of glue down and just lay the tissue paper over top lightly and kinda gather it a little to make the wrinkles with my hands.

  • I love your paintings because you have such depth in your work but at the same time they aren't extremely busy like some abstract art that sometimes can be too overwhelming and not pleasing to look at. When you say you used tissue paper, do you mean that you used paper like Kleenex or like the kind you stuff in party bags for giving a gift? Your work has a serene feel with the way you blend and use texture.

  • @sashamommy Thanks so much im glad you like this art work. I use the tissue papper that stuffed in party bags for giving gifts. Try colors too for a colorful flair.

  • looks great either way, it's all perssonal interpretation :)

  • @TheRockinwoman Thanks so much for commenting on my artwork. Im glad you like my artwork.

  • is that raw umber and burnt umber around the edges of your painting..it look good...

  • @lulacole58 Yes mostly raw umber.

  • i want to use oil paint but it take it to long to dry.so i use acrylics paint but i am going to try oil paint..god bless

  • @lulacole58 Thats what i used on this one (oil paint) I just love raw umber and burnt umber colors. Let me know how it turns out.

  • I love your work, really inspirational! I am wondering how do you attach the tissue paper to the canvas, and is that a cotton canvas? Do you use acrylic, oil or water color....also this might seem like a silly question, but when you put the plastic on.....are you leaving it on or are yu peeling it off for a design effect.....I am so fascinated with your work I have never done anythng like this, but would love to try my hand at it...just not sure how to get started...Thanks for sharing so much.

  • absolutely gorgeous !

  • Thanks so very much. I truly appreciate you stopping by to comment.

  • wow. im really impressed with this art work. nice color. cant wait to see your other videos. how long have you been doing this?

  • Thanks so much. Im so glad you liked it. I've been seriously painting for just about 3yrs now, but i've enjoyed art and created artworks off and on since school days. Thanks again for stopping by. God bless.

  • Nice combinations!

  • Thanks Carla, what have you been up to lately. I know your a busy woman!

  • We have to work a lot for our money, not much time left for YouTube, or even for painting at the moment :-(

  • Hi Martha, its good to hear from you. I hope all is well. Thanks for stopping by to visit. Take care!

  • Beautiful!! I love the colour choices, simple but engaging and warm.

  • Thanks im so glad you like it. "smile"

  • Oh man, if the headaches resume, continue, worsen, what-have-you, I certainly would check into the possibility of the paint being the issue. Even with the non-toxic stuff.

Just to be on the safe side, of course! :0)

  • I use to think it was because i did so much concentration on some of my pieces, my headache's have gotten alot better though.

  • Fun stuff! I have the hardest time with doing 'simple' - I end up thinking "plain"!!! I like this one! And FWIW, I like it horizontal - but I might change my mind if I saw it in person... ok - off to see some of your other vids!

  • Thanks for stopping by. I too have the hardest time doing simple art works, trust me i wanted to do lots more to this, but had to stop my self. My goal is to try to do more simple paintings for a while. I hope you enjoy the rest of my videos. Take care, and God bless.

  • Hey Sunshine....i live the strip verticle ;) Nice Green and brown combination ;)

  • Thanks for stopping by Gary. I love it when you visit me! "SMILE"

  • Thank You so much for the colors you used & the brand!

I had to switch to acrylics due to the headaches I was getting with oils - which could be why your green looks so nice to me. I do miss that unbeatable richness & the blendability. But, of course, not the headaches. LOL

Again, Thank You. I'll try to find something similar in hue to the paint you suggested and will, indeed, let you know what I come up with. Maybe by then I will even be able to post pictures/video.

    Andrea

  • Hummmm i was experiencing headache's as well and a friend of mine questioned rather or not it was the paint. I was like i dont think so because its non toxic, or so it says, but i guess that doesnt matter now that you've brought it to my attention. I wonder ??????? I'll be looking out for your videos. Take care

  • Hey how are you? Was this the painting you were talking about? I l~uv the colors and shades, i do like it better horizontal, If you like to know what i use for texture, i just put blobs of acrilic paint and without leting it dry put spray paint and spray varnish and finish off with some drops of alchol, they dont dry out the same time after they do it gives a cool effect on canvas. hope that was helpful to yam take care.

  • Yes this is the painting i was talking about, and thanks so much for your help. I just may give this a try. If i do i'll be sure and let you know how things turn out for me. Thanks again for your help!

  • Hi. I am a relatively new subscriber, but have enjoyed everything you've shown thus far - including this new one! And, as others have said, I, too, like it both ways & probably would turn it every now & then... just for fun!

Do you mind me asking what green you used? It looks fairly bright (in a good way) on my monitor, but also quite rich & lovely and I am wanting to find a good balance like that for a painting I'm going to do for my little brother's first apartment. LOL

    Thanks

  • Hi, Thanks for stopping by my channel. The green i used on this painting is sap green by daler-rowney Georgian 375, and the brown i used was Raw umber oil paints. I love Raw umber for some reason. Good luck and let me know how things turn out.

  • I like that, and I would turn it from time to time too!

  • Hi BxFirebird, good to hear from you. I hope things are going well for you. Thanks for stopping by to comment. I'm thankful. God bless

  • Lovely! love that green colour i like it turned all ways, if i had a painting like that i would probably display it and turn it every so often for a different view,

  • Thanks , Im happy you like it. I kinda like it all ways too. Thats a great idea too, displaying it different ways. Thanks so much for your input.

  • Looks good. Simple is best.

  • Hi, thanks for stopping by to comment. Im kinda liking the simplicity of it all as well. I think i'll try a few more in this manner. Thanks again.

  • It looks good horizontally, looks almost like a surreal, calm, landscape. The colors are beautiful together!

  • Hi how have you been, good to hear from you. Thanks for stopping by to comment. I'm so glad you liked it. Take care and God bless.

  • Great painting Angela, I like it both ways. You could have it one way for a while then turn the other for a while. That is a really nice green, looks good with the umber.

    Wendy

  • Thanks Wendy, Im so glad you liked it, and i think i'll be doing much more simple paintings for now. It gives me a new thing to focus on, and thats always a good thing. Thanks again!

  • Hello Lisa, I love the painting although I can't see the texture you added because it was a slight glare. I like it herizontal and I like the extra sprinkles of the gold leaf that blew off to the sides. The painting reminds me of the milky way galaxy.

  • Thanks for stopping by my channel. I guess i'll leave those extra sparkles there that blew over there. Take care and God bless.

  • I like it turned.

  • Hi Lisa, thanks for stopping by to visit, and comment. So you like it turned huh...... Thats kinda why i dont worry about signing my art work on the front so the buyer can turn it the way they like. Thanks again. God bless.
