Everyone was wrong though. Id checked the connections, Id insulated everything. It was purely and simply the silicone lead from the coil to the distributor would no longer conduct properly. I changed to a copper one and all was perfect.
yes! it is not a pertronix issue. You need to change your electrician!

you need to shield the leads on the coil ig, Tape or shrink tube.

I think that is just spark jump from bad end terminals/wires or just plain old bad connections.
