What song is he singing beforehand? I heard it all the time from him live but not sure what it is, whether he made it up in another language or if he pulled it from somewhere. Love it "favourite son..... you sinned in the garden...."
I was lucky enough to see Jeff and the Tea Party many times. They were all great shows but outdoors at night these guys were just phenomenal....pure magic.
This was by far always my favourite part of a Tea concert,....once, I think it was 04 here in Brisbane they even broke in Tools sober and then moved back into sister awake seamlessly. I almost stopped breathing it was that amazing.
I wish you guys would come back together, your Aussie fans miss you so so badly.
Tea Party aren't coming back but Jeff's new band The Armada is coming back to Brissie in less then a month (still covering some tea party stuff of course) playing the Hi-Fi on May 10th
I agree...this is my favourtie band ever also. They are at the pinnacle of everything that I listen to and enjoy. This looks like when they performed in Buffalo at Shea's....Is it????
I know, I'm blown away too. Every time I've seen him live (including 2 solo gigs) he's had Gibsons, Rickenbackers, Takamines, and I've seen one green PRS... never a fender. That must be a knock off or something.
Heh heh. Jeff plays a b-bender telecaster in The Majestic Song. There's a vid on here of TTP playing the song live, and you can see him pulling the b string sharp on the tele.
You're right though. JM is pretty much a Gibson guy. He seemed to stay away from them a bit in the later years though.
They do one heck of a Kashmir cover... I ahve seen them live close to a dozen times. And it does suck that they are not around anymore. they are a lot of fun to watch. They usually do the Kashmir cover in the middle of Sister Awake.
fucking amazing...you definitely r missing out if u haven't seen them live... i've only seen them live once in my entire life and it was my first and only concert i've ever went to hahahaha... it was the best experience ever... they r the best i love the tea party!!!! :( sad that they broke up.. wish they get back together...
in defense of iestykelbel, the tea were good friends of my family and according to burrows and stewart they found out that he left the band on the news.. and martin then tried to move to a castle in england. I dont know the exact reasons why, but the way he left definatly could have been better.
you don´t know what the fuck you´re talking about, iestykelbel. you don´t know shit about what broke up the tea. whatever you think you know, or have read is BS.i was one of five people in the room when Jeff Martin told the story of what happened with the band to a norwegian reporter. i can tell you this, he has spared Stu and Burrows for a lot of embarassment not going public with the story. He probably will one day, tho. He´s even holding that interview back now, to spare the two
These guys really need to get back together. I've honestly lost track of how many times I've seen them live at concert halls and outdoor festivals and they never once failed to deliver. They sound great on cd, but if you never seen them live, then you just haven't experienced the Tea Party.
It's a medley of sorts. The first half is "Rakim" by Dead Can Dance (do a search and you can find it), and the second half is "The Halcyon Days" from the album Triptych.
I saw the Tea Party so many times. Arizonas in St. Catherines when it started to pour during Temptation - one of my all time favourites! They were the best live band to come around in 20 or 30 years, easily!
They're reuniting in Canada this summer!!!

Two guitars and a drums. So many bands today struggle to get the kind of earthy, rich sound and intensity with even five members.
