  • So UPS wasn't kidding when it said a giant robot spider has my package.

  • may i noe the cost of this kit please??

  • Hehe, it looks so cute!

  • Bravo! Bravo! Ravaza!

How did you manage to get all the timing right?

  • SHE?!

  • Looks like a real spider with human (Baby) movements.

  • Hi, I'm new at the robotics world. I want to build a robot like this one. What kind of calculations are needed to achieve those movements?

  • wowowowowowowowowowowowow

  • OMAGAAAAAAAD !! Scary! OMG I Want this!

  • Thumbs up on making it radially symmetrical. If it looked more like a spider it would be distracting and creepy.

  • very nice !!!!!!

  • So, are these movements all pre-programmed or is it on-the-fly decision making?

It's much more impressive if the robot is actually playing around with the box in a sort of sandbox manner.

  • Wow, I'd freak out if I woke up one morning with that thing crawling over my face. Fascinating design though!

  • @ ZentaOlbaid

Make shure U switch off HexaPod, when it's time to go to bed with your new girlfriend.

Just imagine: If your Little Cuty decides to visit Daddy and is trying to crawl under the blanket too, she will be send AIRBORN immediately!

And off they go - both ladies - different directions! ;oD

Phantastic job! Mit Respekt, "Stehender Applaus"!!!

  • omfg that is soooooo awesome!!!!! dude its almost scary how lifelike it is!

  • this is awesome but you need to make the outer edges of the feet by rubber for better grip in case of carrying things, as a cure of the fail at 0.55

epic fail at the end but still awesome ^^

  • id be cool if it could analyse the pic from camera and calculate its way over obsticles by it self.

  • where can i get one?

    please reply thanks

  • This was very interesting to watch.

  • seems like it wants to jump but it can't. llol

  • does it has its own computer or is it programmed??

  • remote control

  • The sequences you see in this video are preprogrammed sequences using an excel sheet doing all the IK calculation.

  • @ZentaOlbaid I was wondering whether it used an IK algorithm or just and angle sequence. Thanks, and good job!

  • kinda creepy how in one position it looks like a spider who is about the pounce... it is really awesome too

  • so far the best one seem like she understand but put her more relfex like geting fastly back when something move too fast

  • It seems alive in the way it moves, now if we can put some really smart AI in it we could drop some in other countries and take over the world. Bwahahahahahahahaha. It is really cool tho :)

  • wat is it called

  • well done

  • COOOL YO!!!! how much did you put into it...

  • whats the name of the kit???

  • well my name is hector I am studying electrical engineering I would like to know more about this mechanical anar

  • she's got great gams! (wolf whistles..) yeh, baby use them! beautiful bot.. it's very lovely.

  • I am amazed about how smooth the movements are. Usually such robots move like zombies with a stick in the butt.

  • That's the most amazing part of all of his robots. The motions are so fluid, and when one part moves, other parts of the bot move with it. It makes it so... lifelike.

  • You guys seem to have a lot of fun doing this, and I (on a FIRST Robotics team - Animation) do very much enjoy watching it. Keep up the good/intruiguing/questionably genius work.

  • at 0:30 he is teabaging

  • oh god we are all doomed. ALL DOOMED. THIS IS HOW THEY WILL PLAY WITH YOUR LIFELESS CORPSES.

  • haha

  • @TheDeadlyKind I want one as a pet so it can cach deer :)

  • you have some nasty ass progamming skillzz 0__o

  • This vid made me fall in love with Hexapods. Never was a big bot person, but now I so am going to look into this stuff. :D purely amazing! You should program them to run.. lol

  • must be radio controlled?

  • holy crap i want this robot!

  • what an intelligent machine...

  • ya that cute spider costs $1000 us and to get it to do all of that takes propbly 15 hours of programming

  • it is common among engineers to personify their machines as females, ships, planes, robots, you name it ;)

  • I don't know, it could just be a guy thing of having a girl to call your own, but hey, there are always exceptions. Maybe amongst robot programmers, making their creations 'female' in a sense helps to lower the fear of their creations going all sky-net on them ;D

  • Comment removed

  • Its gunna take ova da werld, KALL AT!

  • Yay, Elfa... lol

  • that is very bad ass. i am deff buying one if it ever comes out

  • it's so.... frigin' awesome! dude way to go.

  • Is this routine preprogrammed, user-controlled or driven by some sort of AI?

It doesn't seem to be carrying the capabilities to support it acting on it's own, so I'm guessing remote control. Am I right?

    Great hexapod collection!

  • many of his other videos, show remote controls, and the movements seem like they are remote controlled, so i would assume so

  • Man.. this robot is the work of a genius!

  • I want this spider robot !!!!! SO CUTE!!!!!

  • damn, the articulation is soooo smooth

  • dude this is BRILLIANT nice job

  • thats creepy

  • u should make it climb walls, like with that gecko tape stuff some scienists made, it stacks when u pull down on it but when you pull out or up it releases .

  • lol pokes the box " hi-ya!"

  • thaat shit is scaaaaaaaary

  • if it can climb up walls, the military would really impressed

  • yea did you create the vacuum cleaner??

    NO

you know what invent something that can move smoothly like his pod and post it in youtube

if you do you are awesome if you dont you are a jealous gay fag.

  • Shut the fuck up, all you do is solve a rubiks cube, his project can do something useful for the world, while your does nothing. So before you open your mouth again, think.

  • who the fuck are you?and what can you do?

  • oh and i wasnt saying shit about hes project sucking

  • What the fuck? You're vacuum didn't involve you being a mechanical genius. He made this himself.

  • i would like to see your vacuum sprout legs and change history as we know it oh and while your at it why don't you attach some guns to it, but until then stfu.

  • reminds me of halo's scarab's

  • Good work. Call me when you have an working Android, and lets talk mass production.

  • now you need to make her do that stuff decided on her own ... you know ... object detection, physical calculation, realtime map creation and so on :D

  • Like a real spider. Awesome.

  • SICKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKk

  • that is freakin awsome

  • super bueno!!! exelente!!

  • awesome shit man!!! fucking freaking awesome shit!!! where is the constructionplan?? I need that Uber-awesome Hexapod phoenix!! *_*

need it, need it, need it!!!

  • so cool

  • Wow, for a small robot that moves smoother than silk, plus it's actually SILENT(not vaccum-cleaner or fan "silent")!

  • cool

  • WOUA! The tackle is very great! I WANT THIS SPIDER AT HOME! Now, this robot needs venom injection mechanism.

  • WRONG!!!

  • I mean about Delfwaren's venom-injecting mechanism idea. This robot is awesome.

  • very cool. e way it's being programme and how smooth it's action are. if the front hindge is strong enough to pull the robot up. it'll be cooler! ;] cool shit~!

  • is this ur own robot?

    is awesome dude

    i wish i had this :)

  • wow.. it really looks good, the moves 'n stuff!

  • That is wicked and amazing it's action's look and act like an actual spider/insect, I have watched some of the other video's of your hexapod robot and that prove's to be impressive.

  • Dude, if that's toally autonomous, that's amazing! Kind of creepy, actually.

  • thats a cool robot! I would like it even better if it had claws.

  • LOL, funny you mention that. I'm planning a new ant looking hexapod with large mandibles. ;)

  • very cool! well done!

  • Is this remote controled or is it AI/self controled???

cuz if it is an AI, then it is actually pretty clever.

If built in super size and perhaps a better AI then it could be the first generation of battle robots.

Just imagin a machine gun or a gatling mounted on the top of it!!! Wow.

  • But i guess ppl up in the government think that its cheaper to send out a soldier, than building a high priced robot...

  • it would be better if it was 5 feet tall and bullet proof, with all kinds of guns

  • Seriously, do you people WATCH MOVIES????

  • Wow, now this looks pretty good. Not like those shaky things that tremble with every movement of a leg.

  • it walks so smooth...

it almost looks like it actually lives...

kinda creepy if you think about it

    anyway 5 stars!

    you deserve it

  • this it the best hexapod i've ever seen

    cawaboonga!!!

  • Thanks!

  • omg this thing is smart O.o

  • Hitec HS 645MG servos are expensive. How much did it cost you overall to build this robot?

  • Beautiful demo. The manipulation abilities of small hexapods are just starting to be explored, and this is a wonderful demonstration of what is possible.

  • They need speed and automation

    Also mazers XD

  • beautiful robot!!!

  • I really want my own and it really does seem like it has a personality.

  • amazing, what you should try and do, seeing as it's running on programming, is add R/C, and as an extra, add sensors, so if there is no light around, it heads to the nearest light source, if it hits something it turns in a random direction, or probes with the front legs to see if it can climb it. its amazing even without that, but if it did that, it would be like *WOWW!*

  • this is amazing

i know its just running preprogramed lines of code, but it seems like it has its own personality and is really alive

  • Thanks!

  • amazing range of movement.

  • Which servos work on this?

  • Hitec HS 645MG (femur and tibia) HS475(coxa)

  • awesome programming dude

  • That is really fucking cool!

  • Is this robot programing or r/c ?

  • Precalculated moves. No R/C yet... ;)

  • wow, the way it moved i was sure it was learning, and observing the box. i was convinced you created life for a minute =P great job!

  • does it drive itself or can i drive it?

  • What will the price of one of those be?

  • Hehe wow, it's cute.

  • Thanks! I'll be the first buyer!

  • Can I buy one?

  • Yes, Lynxmotion are soon going to offer Phoenix as a hexapod kit.

  • So wats the price on this?

  • With 18x645, Phoenix kit, brackets and ssc32, about 917$. You also need battery and botboard if you want a onboard cpu.

  • you should make and sell these things hahah

  • :[ ]

    This... Is... Rock!

  • This is the coolest robot i've ever seen. Its movements are so fluid and accurate. Amazing job.

  • Soooo cute! ^_^

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

  • so is this remote controlled? or did they program it to do all that? it's really fucking awesome

  • I dont think its remote controlled, or even specifically programmed to do it. There was probably an intuitive AI made part of it that lets the bot figure shit out on its own to some degree

  • Hi, Thanks!

No remote control yet.. So far it's only preprogrammed sequences. No fancy AI ;) All sequences are made with a Excel sheet I call PEP. For more info visit forums at Lynxmotion or Trossen Robotics.

  • Imagine thousands of these with syringes filled with poison on their legs in your house at night...

  • All moving about a centimeter a second, but with stealth, vast numbers, and a touch 'o death...me with a baseball bat, maybe some hairspray and a lighter, microwaving a couple, making Home Alone-type death traps to lure robo-spiders to their doom...

I think we have the makings of a decent Hollywood movie here.

  • The movement is so fluid... This is really cool. I'm kind of afraid of the future?

  • This is so cute. x3 It even moves like a spider~!

  • That's what she said!

  • This robot moves so smooth.

  • most robots look rigid in their design, but this robot moves much more smoothly. It looks like it uses its legs instead of predefined actions making it do what its made to do
