  • i think the videos is good, and it makes you wanna sing along, so thanks for lyrics! i know you ppl are annoyed about saying this, but i wish i could understand what the song means. havent you people heard subliminal mesages in songs? so... it would be NICE to know the meaning behind this song :D

  • you mean "instrumentals" not "music." It's all music. We may ask ourseleves the question, WHY? WHY DO I DO THE THINGS I DO TO DO FOR OTHERS WHO DO THE THINGS THEY DO DO. Thank you and enjoy the show. Please return your 3D glasses the bins outside the theatre

  • I sang this in a school thing

  • Language is Latin, not Celtic!!!

  • @shonagic Neither, it's a made up language.

  • Remember Avatar

  • listen to dj paul - dead wrong.....sampled it

  • Actually, just to say, my choir and I are doing this song this semester, and it is of no spoken language whatsoever, just composed words :) (And I am NOT saying this to get any dirty comments back, I do not mean to contradict anyone!! Just a fact!) Great song!

  • I very like enya voice. beatiful song..

  • semplicemente fantastico

  • Why everyone thinks that Enya has something to do with this???

  • @muzikologonewall Was kinda wondering the same. Seen alot of claims that this would be Enya. As far as I know this is not her but Jenkins own lead singer Miriam Stockley that he got for the Adiemus Project with "song of sactuary".

  • @Akezzon Yes, this is indeed Miriam Stockley - see her website miriam.co.uk

She is an amazing singer. She does most of the vocals herself on the albums, including on her own CD's. I read in an interview she did, that this was recorded as a TV ad for Delta Airlines and the response was so great, they made an album!

  • bella e rilassante =) =) =) =) =)

  • Nice. I liked this video much ^-^ thank you

  • Oh I See. Are Celtic Language ^-^.I Trying to know the mean of that xd

  • What language is that?

  • This language is not an actual language but something that Karl Jenkis came up with to match the tones and rhythems of his music. So please stop arguing about it and listen to this amazing song.

  • the chorus sounds African to me

  • pronunciations*

  • I'm pretty sure it's Latin and these aren't the actual lyrics but the pronounciations.

  • It is no language, which makes it all languages.

  • Oh I love this.. <3 New Age owns. :)

  • Is it a language? Or random words? 'CAUSE I WANNA LEARN IT :D

  • !Przejmujemy ten filmik. I chuj!

  • Ruscy okradają nas z gazu, Szwaby mordowali Naszych przodków to my - Rzeczpospolita Polska mamy prawo przejmować każdy filmik na YT. Marsz, marsz Dąbrowski!

  • I used to sing this when i was in the school choir over 13 years ago, and it still remains one of my all time favourite song :)

  • doin this for my school choir it seems quite fun :)

  • Language is nor Celtic.

  • love this song!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG(: HEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEEH IM JUST NOT SURE WHAT THEYRE SAYING L.M.F.A.O

  • Only americans would think that the lyrics of this song is a real language..

  • @CossacksChampion how someonhe has a grudge against Americans. Thats just sad.

  • @athenasowlknowsall

    No, that's easy...

  • @CossacksChampion someone has major issues

  • @athenasowlknowsall

    don't bother mentioning your issues.

  • Sorry, but dmxtreme 1978 is correct,,it was by Karl Jenkins, check out youtube by typing in his name,,,wish it was enya,Ive been a loyal fan of hers from the very beginning, and Always WILL be,,,Love Her and Her Music For All Time!! Lee

  • Genau stimmt Auf'jede n singen wir grad immer *-*

  • Da kann man sich doch Justin Bieber sonst wohin stecken, das ist musik !

  • THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I love this song and I´ve been searching for a long time. You are a real hero ;)

  • This not a song by Enya. It was writen total by Karl Jenkins the lryics are not done in ay language at all.

  • wow dude. this isnt even a real language and yet you still tried to put lyrics

  • irgentwie muss ich beim schauen von avtar an dieses lied denken....

  • i cant think of a choir that hasnt sung this BEAUTIFUL

  • @Jess4298 Actually my school choir hasnt but we are going to. I suggested it cause my teacher let us choose. The other candidates were Threes by Mercedes Lackey but its more of a solo song so no and then someone said we sing Nageki No Mori but sadly not everyone can speak Japanese, so then this song was the best choice. We were all versatile enough to manage this, so we will sing at the assembly next month.

  • simply beautiful :-)

  • habs aufem handy,is wunderschön das lied :D

  • Che lingua è? XD

  • @thebiko2000 Nessuna...sono parole inventate

  • Love it. I do understand.

  • For the instrumental part, wasn't that an ocarina or some sort of flute?

  • nice

  • I like it a lot! Since its random words can I use this as a base for language of made-up tribe of half-ocelot half-humans? Pleeease?

  • NOPE, no real language at all!!! but beautiful all the same

  • The composer is Karl Jenkins the vocalist in this song is Miriam Stockley not enya!

  • Absolutely indescribable. So amazing song. I can´t express my words.

  • isn't Enya!

    It's a group called 'Adiemus

  • i dont care who sang it what language it is or even if its a language -_ u guy are turning a buitiful song into a debate....that makes u politition, do you really want to be a politition, no i think not. not STFU and enjoy so she dont take a good vid of youtbe

  • Ahhh.. I'm so confused! This song is by Enya, by Karl Jenkins, by other people? It's Celtic, it's rubbish? What is the truth?? hahahah.

  • @sunnydale22 its hardly confusing listen to an enya song then listen to this song, its pretty clear the vocalist isnt enya. As for people saying its celtic rubbish.... well they certainly dont have any kind of appreciation for music.

  • @dmxtreme1978 I only meant, after initially listening to this, what the true artist was thanks to the dozens of opinions wafting around claiming all sorts of things. I hadn't previously listened to any of Karl Jenkin's previous work before. And honestly, the voice could pass to be enya's if you perhaps don't pay perfect attention... but thanks. I do know now.

  • ADIEMUS ROCKS my bff is called Sophie Convery And I'm Madeleine Chatwin (don't make fun of my last name or Sophies).

  • @rosalinaprincess1992 Just out of pure utter and morbid curiosity... why did you put that there lmfao... seems a bit random :P

  • Song.Not.By.ENYA.....

  • Comment removed

  • These facts are all wrong! They aren't real words and the song is sung by Miriam Stockley not Enya.

  • @Bette1222

    Really? Who gives a shit!

You guys are SO fuckin annoying!

Do you want me to take down this video?

    Just watch the fuckin video!

No one gives a shit what the language is or who sung it! J

    UST WATCH THE DAM VIDEO!

dam you people piss me off :l

(and yes this is snugggles123, new account :p)

  • @xXxNeverBeTheSamexXx What people are hoping for is that you would put in the right info such as singer and who wrote the whole thing. And yes people do care about who the singer is and who wrote the song. Because they would like to you know maybe find other stuff the person did.

  • episch

  • even jibberish can have the most beautiful sound to it :)

  • Yep, it's not Celtic. This is essentially gibberish. The composer felt real words detract from the song itself.

  • it really means nothing but what a song and what a music!

  • I've heard this song being performed several times and I've only just found it now, I love it!

  • If the wild river which flows through the forest could sing then it would sound like that

  • I sang this song in my choir Tuesday.

  • Just saying, this song is not by Enya.

  • @ksm8368 hmm, well actually it kinda is...

Because Karl Jenkins wrote it for Enya...

  • @Zahmbur Wasn't it Miriam Stockley?

  • what is this for a language ?

  • I think i can make words of these made up wards

  • great *__*

  • this is not Enya but Carl Jenkins and language is just made up words without meanings.

  • best you guys study your history. the language being sung isnt trible. its an extinct language around in the 11th to the 12th century. its a mix of celtic and nortic. if you have studied latin youd know. enjoy the song.

  • The lead singer is South African.!!....it's performed by London Philharmonic Orchestra.!

  • We sung this in Chorus a couple years back. I loved it! It sounded so cool. We competed against other schools with this and we won! Haha. Good times. :D

  • i have to sing this in choir low :S but it awsome song as it is not a language :D

  • no its a real languge lol its not sounds its a luanguge

  • Awesome! ty for the post! ;>)

  • @Hollyleaf958 right come on right

  • This is an awsome song! By the way you must have loads more patience than me!

  • One, it's not by Enya. Most people mistake that, but that's fine. It's just Karl Jenkins.

Two, it's not in any language per-say. Karl Jenkins wanted to explore the regions of human vocals and(he hoped) that people would not mistake his mumbo-jumbo lyrics for an actual language.

Three, I love this song and I thank you for putting it up.

Four, we sang this in my choir, and it was awesome.

Five, I hate the random instrument at like 4:00. It ruins the feel.

  • ha! i told my mate that latin and the celtic languages are similar ty heres sumin he likes and proves him wrong sweet

  • Nice song! :)

BUT! The language isn't Celtic! And this song isn't from Enya, but from Karl Jenkins.

Karl Jenkins just used some syllables, because "Adiemus" was a project with the human voice used as instrument. :-)

  • in school we have to do choir and we have that song and its like the best of all of them :)

  • The song is really amazing, I first found this song in a montage of Halo, lol, but once I heard this song I knew I had to find it. It's beautiful, even if the lyrics don't actually mean anything. It really has that Avatar feel to it in my opinion

  • read the 'war 'downstairs, just wanted to thank you for the lyrics, for all, go to MiriamStockley's page on MSN - she's the lead vocalist, with Mary Carewe vocalizing Karl Jenkins invented language. then open Adiemus Unofficial Website, hope it answers...Thanks

  • My school choir is doing this song for our school concert it is going to be amazing!!! I am in the school choir and it is really hard to sing... :)

  • This is very good :)

  • I say...we let the language of the song and enjoy its beauty and how it relates to anyone of us.

  • she has such a wonderful voice

  • I've been told that the words in this piece aren't from any specific language- I think therefore the meaning of the song is open to anyone's interpretation. Either way, does it really matter what language this piece is? All that matters is the beauty and inspiration that this piece holds. This song is truly stunning! Thankyou so much for posting it snuggles123! :D xxx

  • Do the words have any (official) meaning?

    I guess not ...

  • @LilR3dC4p

    Adiemis means 'We will approach'

  • @monikapolka1 Adiemus* and no, it does not.

  • @xSke7ch yes it does if u dont believe then google it! also i no only that translation

  • but some words are latin :P

like natus, it means to be born :D

  • we r singing this in our choir i <3 it

  • All you have to do is go to Karl Jenkins site and read the quote about Adiemus..."Adiemus was the project where I first combined the 'classical' with ethnic elements such as tribal & ethnic drumming with vocals that were more akin to world music than Western European classical. I also devised an invented language for this project." Geez why all the fuss and acting like you know what you are talking about. Go straight to the horses mouth.

  • lyrics seem to be a mix between latin and english lol.. it could mean "Let's go (on) gladly " from "adeamus laete" (latin)... thats my idea lol

  • lyrics seem to be a mix between latin and english lol

  • THose people actually don't know what good music is...lol. Anyway, find me when you are pissed off, snuggles

  • I ♥ it :)

  • Umm.. Just to tell you guys. We are singing this for our choir, and it is just random fake words that sounded good..... So it's NO language.. Just to tell you

  • we do to... first sopranos get the awesome part and theres like six of them but o well... we have contest with it tomorrow:)

  • @monkeyspasm1 true... my little girls singin it 4 her choir, she got the solo part! really, its no language at all, i agree with u there! :) thumbs up if your still listening 2 this in 2011!

  • @monkeyspasm1 anyway that's art

  • i love this it sound celtic to me to so

  • @Natus3939 huh?.. meaning?

  • WTF,my nick is in this song!!! :D xD

  • We're singing this song in Chorus, :-)

  • It has an African sound...especially when the chorus comes in. What a beautiful, exotic piece.

  • Actually this sounds African .

  • And, I'm sure you know this already, but Celtic is not a language. It's a nationality. that's like saying "oh you speak North American!" "No I speak Mexican!" and the fact that you argue sooo much that you KNOW this is Celtic.. makes me laugh. In no way am I trolling or anything.. It's just a little silly to me to have senseless fighting, especially on such a soothing beautiful song. I want this song to play when I die and "cross over" or whatever happens.. It's just.. so free. ~

  • Karl Jenkins, the composer of this beautiful song, has stated (on his SITE) that these lyrics are nothing but one-beat syllables (usually ending in vowels to not distract the listener from the timbre and tone of the singer's voice) put together to create soothing music. The title, Adiemus is in fact, Latin, It means "We will approach." This is taken from his series of "Songs of Sanctuary" So, I think you ALL are dimwits for fighting whether its celtic/afrikaans, Just do a little research <3

  • listen yea i speek this language so shut up it is really latin

  • hey just forget thoose people that are really rude they have nothing to do in there life. and remember other people would love to be you're friend including me

  • hey just forget thoose people that are really rude they have nothing to do in there life. and remember other people would love to be you're friend including me

  • It's one of my fav songs , and I really don't care wich language it is . do you know were can I download the song ?

  • pffff... can we jump the whether-or-not-the-language-of-the-song-is-celtic and just say WE ALL LOOOOOOVE THIS SONG???!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • i never thought i would love a song soooooo much even though i couldn't understand it lol but i still love it !!!!!!!

This is one of the best songs ive ever heard <3

  • This song is so awsome! xD

  • Its nice beautiful piece of music. I like it and was looking for the lyrics but this didn't add much :D I didn't know before that is sung with Latin, or whatever. Does anybody know kind of translation to it though.

    Thanks

  • It is actually Gaelic. The language.

  • Adiemus does sound Latin but the composer claims it's just a coincidence. Whatever, this is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever made.

  • THX I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING IT AND IGNORE THOSE MOTHER FUCKERS WHO PISSS YOU OFFF thx =D

  • I love this song its amazing! going to sind this song in opur choir at school;)

    LoveGreats from Germany :)

  • we are singing this song in choir this year :)

  • This song makes me at peace with myself... I LOVE IT!

And That one person that disliked has been killed ... >:D

  • 1) This isn't Enya, she's never collaborated with Karl Jenkins. 2) This is a non-language inspired by Celtic languages. Celtic is not a language per se, and this is not a language at all. There is no translation.

    3) I love this music <3

  • Children, Children, Celtic is not a language, Gaelic is a language, both archaic and modern. Spoken along with latin by those we refer to as Celts.

  • i love love love this song :)

  • i can sing latin aswell so i no this song very well
