  • Night Vision devices work on amplifying existing light. You can't make something from nothing. That's a common misconception. Taking your nvg's into a light tight sealed room and turning them on expecting to see like the sun is blasting it's warm rays in there is completely wrong. PVS-14's use the mx-11769 tube which is very sensitive (around 21 SNR and 2800 sensitivity) so it can amplify even the weakest photon....but like I stated before--it needs something to amplify.

  • come on mr knob lol

  • I work on these in the Marines.... These are the core to my work day.

  • your welcome Frank, and you are welome to make any comment on the videos i too have made regarding band A infrared videography, just klik my name to see what you think..

  • proving you NEED light in one form or another, great demo mate, gen 3 aint cheap, ive been using modified camcorders and security cams not only cheaper but greater control over lens focus & f stop.but like any CCD (silicon) device having a limited bandwidth only down to 1300nM ..night vision using light amp tecnology works slightly different, taking any photon including band A IR turning it into electrons and accelerating them into a phospher, creating the image..nice

  • Cool, thank you for a well written and insightful comment. So rare on the internet.

  • Hey How did you get your hands on the illuminator?
