Interesting how jewish Hollywood made this movie to push unbridled sexual expression, but never mentioned such inconvenient little things as unwanted teen pregnancy (as usual.)
@nixthematrix they dont push sex. they are showing how people didn't dicuss sex at ANY time then, and many shows now a days do the same thing: just do what you want, ignor consequences. yes that is badd but don't let that distract you from the main point.
I never saw the ending to this film. did they stay in Pleasentville and what the name of the actress who plays the mother. I would like to see more of her work.
@NeoOneOrg Actually it is about the fear of change. the moral is that change is good and we need it, but resisting it will lead to distruction. It is a great movie that doesn't show loss of human imagination, but more like how some can be narrow minded but other open and that's not all a bad thing. There is a lot more to the movie than that, but you might not care to know(to bad).
I love the sunny feeling I get from this video. The song and your cutting choices enhance the dreamlike quality of the film's fantastic imagery. Thanks for a great video.
This movie is based on American TV shows of the 1950's and early 1960's...I think the family in the movie was based on the TV show "Leave It To Beaver" which ran from 1957-1963 and the family is based also on "Father Knows Best" which ran from 1954-1960...they have episodes from the TV series here on youtube...
One of my favourite movies and has been on my favourites list since forever. However I can't boycott Stephen Soderberg (supporter of child rapist Polanski and producer of this movie) without deleting it from my favourites. The pathos of this movie being allegory to freedom of thought and expression produced sadly though, by a man who sees no limits to that expression and no qualifications on that freedom. Colour THIS Soderberg. Some things, particularly child protection are black and white!
That was so great! I used to watch this movie all the time. I had forgotten about it, but watching this, I remember how much I loved it XD You did so well compiling and editing these clips in such an emotional sequence. A definite favourite for certain.
Lately movies that are made today are either unoriginal or are remakes cause they're simply out of ideas.I wish they made new movies with new ideas like this one for example
Wow! You get 5 stars for matching this beautiful score (Hotel Lights - Follow through) to this clean crisp and absolutely stunning clip of one of my all-time favorite movies. Thank you!
Thanks so much for these beautiful five minutes, SkyAboveWater! Your choice of music and clips really does capture the essence of the film. Pleasantville is one of those movies you get more out of if you watch it more than once - so anyone who says the movie isn't very good really should give it another chance...
Stellar job, Ms. Sky. Through both your music selection and your video editing, you captured the essence of this film (which happens to be one of my all-time favorites) brilliantly. Thank you for further enriching my experience with this film. You have gained a fan.
Hi Alexandra, I am going through almost the same thing in my town! I am an Artist, so I am trying to put color where there is black and white. It is a slow process, and I can relate to this movie! Again you captured the most significant transitions from the movie, and enhanced/underlined the lessons to be learned! Bravo..Best Regards, June
Great Video i see that fantastic film is noticed not only in USA because Im from Poland. I'ts wonderful that are some other people who love this magical film :)
WOW! That was amazing! The choice of music was awesome and the way you did the video was also very well done. This is also one of my top favorites. I TOTALLY want to go see this movie. It looks so interesting!
I liked how you started with the gray images and then moved to colour and gray and then all colour. Great job on this one!
