@spektrum1983 It is a reference to another vampire-love-movie based on a book. The reason he says that it's all in Swedish is to make sure that the viewer knows that he is not talking about the other (The bad one.) movie.
A mesmerising, visually beautiful & totally unique approach to this genre.
The minimalistic style, stunning cinematography & balance of exquisite subtlety & grotesquely realistic horrific imagery add up to a gripping, sensitive film about loneliness, friendship, love & the extremes to which people will go in order to support & protect those they love.
The young actors worked without a script, being fed their lines moments before each scene, effectively exposing their rawness & vulnerability.
Fun table review. This has been bothering me, is her father her boyfriend when he was 12? Is Oskar bound to kill and feed her blood when he grows older? And where are they both going on the train at the end?
No. According to the book, he was an alcoholic paedophile ex-school teacher she rescued, then paid to provide her with blood. He offered to do it for free if she let them become intimate, but she refused.
HUH? Why do these guys keep saying Eli is a girl? Where they watching the same movie? It was fairly clear in the movie that Eli is a boy. He even said so in the beginning of the movie when they first met!! Get your stories straight guys.
Maybe you should go watch the movie again, when she said "I'm not a girl" she meant because she is a vampire. It's made VERY clear in the movie she is a girl.
sorry to disappoint you, but Eli is NOT a girl... the movie makes you think that shess a girl. and that she said, "I'm not a girl" because she's a vampire..but its actually a he. he was castrated. read the book. ohh in the movie you can see she has no vagina..the book explains it all. but I still prefer to think that is a girl :]
@Ergoagent Indeed; the crotch shot isn't showing underage pussy, it's showing the scars where Eli's meat and two veg used to be. "I'm not a girl" was very literal.
the movie was perfect as it was,i don't think it needs a remake, but it really wants a part2.the first Q a had in my mind in the first 10 min.of the movie is: who the hell is the old man with the girl?is he "dad"why is he killing for the vampire,is there no other way to get food.she could get it on her own.then i got it.strange but the same Q is back again.there must be something they could come up with to change "an inevitable outcome...."
Let the right one in is awesome! I loved it! I'm dieing to read the book!Living for a sequal to the movie! Not a remake! It doesn't need a remake it's perfect! Like the movie the eye!The original was good. Anyway's the movies bloody, creepy, very deep, and twisted! I think people don't like to call it a horror, because it is so touching, and deep, but I think it's both! though it's not a typical horror movie for that reason...So yeah these guy's have very good taste!
i love this film, but i wouldnt call i t a horror movie, its a beutifull moovie about loneliness and love, i friggin cried, cuz those two kids are such a cute cupple
The movie that Sweden has sent is called "Maria Larssons eviga ögonblick". I guess that the ones who chose which movie to sent, felt that it was a safer choice.
