  • 144bpm

  • i wud put this particulaur tune in the grime catagory not that it really matters....MASSIVE BEAT!!!!!!

  • Listen to some Com Truise, Thats where the good current electronic music is at.

  • @NeonPsychedelicRobot Both Rustie and Com Truise are kickass in their own ways. I'd absolutely encourage people to listen to some of Come Truise's stuff after this song; Cathode Girls is a great song to start with.

  • Who gives a fuck what genre it is... Do you like the song Yes or No? If not don't listen to it!!!

  • its funny how these days, slightly different beats means a completely different genre. if you listen to rock, you get fast stuff, you get slow stuff, you get different time signatures. why can't people just be more inclusive with electronic music?

  • >Looks into comments

    >Genre argument

    >Not surprised at all

    >Arguing over whether it's dance, dubstep, or "wonky"

    >You guys, it's hip hop

    >Electronic hip hop guys

    >C'mon guys, really? The beat, the glitched out hi hats, it's hip hop. How does this even resemble dubstep? Why do you want to compare it to dubstep so bad?

  • Skrillex does electro too you new fags. It dosen't sound like his work because not all electronic artists sound the same. I'd rather listen to Rustie than Skrillex because of the fan base and that Rustie makes better music in my opinion.

  • @Ory619

    No one here likes Skrillex.

  • Someone needs to tell beatport it's not dubstep then beatport.com/track/surph-original-mix/2721011 (I agree btw)

  • I dunno sounds like dubstep to me...

  • Yea this isnt DUBstep at all. Wonky??? Never heard of that. I will still call it electronic because it is still that genre.

  • its post-dubstep for fucks sake.like burial, mount kimbie, scuba and all that other fuckers.

  • @fastkomplett no it's not lol. post dubstep wtf.

  • i think this categorie of music calls "SKWEEE"

  • tonythetiger up there speaks the truth long live Rustie and good dance chill smooth flowing music, fuck dubstep ugly sounding shyt that is

  • Thank you based Rustie

  • Stop trying to force your opinions and ideals on everyone else, your acting like Jehovah's Witnesses!

  • this is my favorite dubstep song. it sounds like skrillex. they are my favorite dubstep band.

  • @shootjr FUCK SKRILLEX THIS IS NOT DUBSTEP AND SKRILLEX IS ONLY ONE PERSON. loool jk, i love skrillex too tthey rock, this is so filthy too

  • @shootjr Can't tell if trolling... or just ridiculous ?

  • @MightySpoone no The Skrillexes are so cool. I bought their CD on iTunes but I don't like the drop in this song. This Rustie band needs to be filthier.

  • Thank You Rustie, Thank You. :)

  • dubstep or not i like it!

  • whatever it is, its good

  • All over this right now...

  • ech los lieber miks & moritz.

  • This song makes my face melt from Awesomness

  • omfg 3:31

  • There is way more 90s R&B in this song than dubstep.

  • People need to stop caring about the genres man.....

  • its post-dub if anything you newfags. and not that shit trash wob wob ing. I hate that garbage. But approve of this, good beats.

  • sorry but wonky is a wack name, cmon people can we just say that this is good music f*ck a label.

  • man I really hate it when you find some good music on youtube , and when you look at all the comments its all just hate and more hate.

    Too bad.

    Good music, good song.

  • Comment removed

  • How can you call this dubstep?

  • No dubstep. Aha. Just dance music.

  • The Genre is "Rustie"

  • goddamn, this song makes ya boy wanna go swimming in a ocean full of pink dolphins then get scooped up out the water by a phoenix then get taken up to the pearly gates and have lunch with St peter but then he tells me it aint my time yet i gotta listen to this song some more so i dive bomb off a cloud and as i fall the phoenix from earlier catches me and its friends come along this time and do all types of formations in the air then they drop me back to my house and i listen again

  • @YoungYahtz94 i lawl'd so fucking hard....god i wanna live on your planet right now!!

  • noone ever actually proves definitefly how a song belongs to a specific music genre in these arguments, whats the point lol

  • these claps are sick! great builds. great song. BIG UP RUSTIE

  • This is dubstep. You kids probably think dubstep is all just wobble bass, it isn't.

  • fuck dubstep you noobs....you know nothing about music...this is super slick pussy funk and it's superlicious....wake up.

  • CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME THE LYRICS TO THIS?

  • it's 140bpm with a clap on the 3rd beat. saying it's dubstep doesn't mean it's the same as all the other dubstep tracks. If I was going to mix it, I would deff 9 out of 10 times mix it with a dubstep track because it would fit better

that being said I wouldn't mix it coz I think this guy is a sped up clavin harris

  • @08kaem i'd go for a slightly sped up big beat track. This has a different vibe to dubstep id say its like mixing cheap box wine (which is awesome) to irish cream.....it curdles

  • @unpermissable there's more than one kind of dubstep. just the same way there are different types of house, drum n bass, hip hop, pop, garage, etc

chances are if you think one genre all sounds the same, then you probably don't listen to that much of it, or you've only been exposed/ concentrate on one side of it

  • Don't laugh, but I get a super big 80's R&B vibe from this song. I love it.

  • Its called Wonky people!! not electronica, or dubstep just plain old, Wonky! argument cleared up now enjoy the fuking music!!

  • @smurfMT Just because some of rustie's older output fits that old, never-used-anymore label doesn't mean this does. idk what i'd call this really. Dance music. yeah, dance sounds good.

  • Its like... Post-Dubstep. Lol. If anyone really wants to know I think its actually called "skweee" Some new sound of music originating from Sweden er somethin. It will probably become more popular throughout 2012. Producers like skream and rusko are starting to take interest in making tracks more like this, more dance-able than dubstep.

  • @smurfMT Wonky was an old "novelty" genre that a few of his song's fit into. and this is not dubstep either, its much too close to house for that. This is downtempo, if ive ever heard it.

  • @smurfMT how about we just call it music instead???

  • @smurfMT when did this music stop being called grime? this is the type of music all the grime artists used to make...

  • LOL people need to stop assuming that a 140bpm beat means dubstep! Rustie has smashed it with Glass Swords regardless of the genre!! FUCK skrillex flux pavillion and everyone making their music sound as disgusting as they possibly can! soundin like wasps trapped in a jar! ...rustie, blawan, bahwee, kuedo, girl unit, hudmo, ambassadeurs, starslinger, mount kimbie, kidnap kid - REAL MUSIC

  • @TonyLeTigreTV GODDAMN WELL SAID HOMIE BLAWAN FUCKING KILLS IT

  • Love the bloops at 3:34.

  • It's an electric house instrumental. It's not dubstep. Dubstep is usually much slower, has a wobble sound, and is usually a remix.

  • @Fr0z3nD3spair not really. infact no. your just wrong.

  • Can somebody explain to me why this isn't dubstep? It has an irregular (not 'four to the floor' - 4/4) drumbeat and a strong bass line. It doesn't have the bass wobble but that isn't necessary for a song to be dubstep - and, indeed, wasn't in many or most early releases in the genre. I'm not a huge dubstep fan, which is why I'm asking.

  • @MrThomJKing Simple. Listen to songs by Skream, Coki, Benga then listen to this song. Do you see any similarity in those songs from this ?

  • @Basshead44Official ... true theyre different, but you can see the progression of sound, and how the old players have influenced this new sound

  • @Basshead44Official

Yes, I can - in both the drum beat and the bass line. I would say Skrillex's music is further from the older stuff than this is, and Skrillex is largely regarded as dubstep. A slightly warped version perhaps (brostep), but still dubstep. (For the record, I don't like Skrillex at all.) Surely there can be diversity within a genre?

I'm just asking what specifically it is that distinguishes this from dubstep as a whole.

  • @MrThomJKing You can tell in the BPM of the song. Its going way too fast for it to be dubstep. Sounds more electro. If you've listened to dubstep a lot then after a while figuring out what is & what isn't dubstep will just become second nature to you. & since you've brought up skrillex i dont really like him. He's done nothing to make the dubstep scene better in fact because of him the dubstep scene is going to shit. People who know nothing of EDM listen to it & ruin the vibe of shows.

  • @Basshead44Official

That clears it up, thank you. I'm not terribly interested in most dubstep - although I have been a big Burial fan for quite a while - but I am trying to get a grasp of what it is, for no reason in particular.

  • It's such a great electro track seriously such a fukn great track. :))))))

  • @2:13 hit me up bring it over smoking hot turn your eyes my lover (?) when you fly across the room feel my ecstasy i thought that my mustache is just like alchemy and house a loser (?) h-h-hook you up take a number do it to her it's no surprise as she riles up oh-oh-oh i'm burning up and you know i wanna ride on ride on oh baby ride on oh i wanna ride on baby ride on ride on ri-ri-ride on ride on baby

  • I could dance to this song all day! Everytime I hear it I go nuts! I wish I could actually dance because I would go to the club and show everybody up to this.

  • Stop saying this is dubstep. It isn't.

  • @The3rdHellcat It's Dubstep.

  • @The3rdHellcat

not even one bit close to dubstep, not even if your a try hard.

  • i fockin adore it... :D:D:D

  • Does anyone know if the vocals are sampled or original? If so where they're from/who laid them down?

  • @freddo92 I was actually just reading about this coincidentally, and it turns out that the vocals are from a female producer named Nightwave. I think they're sampled though. You can research it a bit more on your own if you wish, but that's what I read in The Guardian's review of this album.

  • @freddo92 i read in an interview with Rustie that its sung by him and his girlfriend :)

  • i didn't know jeph was into this sort of music...

  • Bee dee bloop, bee dee blop.

  • So this IS actual dubstep? I've always thought it was that "2 minutes then seizure" noise that Skrillex seems to brainswash people with.

    Now this, THIS is good.

  • @Pitzhakepab Well, Skrillex is dubstep - it's just a subgenre. One that was created by taking a single aspect (the heavy bass/bass wobble) and emphasizing it to the point of sheer ridiculousness. (Contrast this /watch?v=D6pTSGvp7T8 with anything by Skrillex.) The result is that dubstep is now pretty much split into two camps: One emphasizing heavy, aggressive bass, giving the music a very nu-metal philosophy (particularly in their emphasis on extreme dynamic contrast...)

  • @Pitzhakepab ...the other being an outgrowth of the original genre, emphasizing minimalism, delicate sound design and an overall melancholy feel. And then we have music like this that takes the basic design from this camp, but adds elements from other electronic music genres, resulting in post-dubstep (just don't go throwing that around willy-nilly or you might anger the sort of people that don't like to pigeonhole music into genre. Me, I have irresistible compulsions to do so).

  • The part at 3:33 is one of my favourite things ever.

  • ultrajizz

  • What genre is this. I like it.

  • @Ril3yIzBac This is dubstep - actual dubstep, not the subgenre championed by Skrillex et. al (that would be "brostep").

  • @Ril3yIzBac Wonky.

  • My brain is confused. Am I supposed to be crying, laughing, and dancing simultaneously?

    Beautiful.

  • Insanely overrated is right, this sounds like Rihanna meets bad house, ugh. The beats would have been generic in the late 80s, the chick needs her mic turned off, and the synths are cheesy, almost preset sounding. Get some real gear instead of a software program and start making some real shit.

  • @antichoice1 Please explain the "bad house" element? Kthx. I don't hear any house in this. I hear more R&B than house.

  • @Zvanunhoft House is just what i term any electronica generica, devoid of creativity or programming prowess. I don't claim to know what makes house "house," as I despise the genre, and most electronic sub-genres as they aren't real genres. Changing a snare sound and claiming you invented a form of music is preposterous and pretentious. The availability of software has only enhanced the problem. Electronic made leaps and bounds from 1975-1985, and virtually no progress from 1995-2012.

  • @antichoice1 I didn't need an essay about it.

  • i thought this album was insanely overrated, but I just found out I'm wrong... it's really good

  • anyone know the lyrics?

  • holy crack cocaine

  • bro...

  • i listened to this on mdma a few weeks ago and i swear to god words cannot explain how awesome it was

  • dammit heems, you got me hooked

  • Heems sent me here

  • fucking class!

  • This is some feel good shit :D

  • well this guy just made my hallucinations a lot better...

  • Every time i listen to this song I hallucinate the smell of fresh tobacco smoke on old leather seats .

  • fucking love this song but vie been trying to figure out the sample he used for the vocals. anyone know?

  • @thatasiangirly it's not a sample, it's Rustie and Nightwave singing :)

  • @Nightwave808 noooooooooooooooooooooooo....... really though???

  • @thatasiangirly haha yeah really, it's me and Rustie :)

  • @Nightwave808 The Feel is insanely good.

  • @dorklefiend thanks a lot :)

  • @thatasiangirly There's an interview where he briefly mentions it.

  • @thatasiangirly I would also like to know.

  • @MrCrippledFrisco No, because he's a tool. I unsubscribed from his channel a long time ago. It seems like he's so fucking biased. He's never really given many AMAZING electronic albums A. recognition or B. good reviews. Blah.

  • I sure hope not mrsoap
