I have been a In Flames fan since the Subterranean time, when they were far to be famous...In flames is now over for me, their last albums really suck....Insomnium is doing real metal...Hail Insomnium and really hope the Swedish could make albums like that if they haven't sold themselves for the american media!

I don't get it. This music has feeling, emotion, passion, sophistication. It's beautifully written, it is modern virtuosity. If it doesn't appeal to you, well that is your opinion but to call this anything less than great is ridiculous. And to give it a dislike? That's very immature. It is audible art! That dislike means much more than just not being your cup of tea. It is a massive disservice to the talented members of Insomnium. It is an insult, it taints the glory of this song!

Totally agree on that. Children of Bodom was an incredible band that produced masterful records back in the day, but with their new signing on to a major label, their unique sound has been converted to a stream-lined, prepackaged modern 'metal' sound.

And Alexi Laiho is truly amazing. But their new sound isn't anything special as it once used to be.

I don't know about MeloDeath but I'd tell you to check out Swallow The Sun and Ghost Voyage (partly influenced by STS) for Doom/Death Metal. Might sound scary but you'll love it. For more melodeath you might wanna check out my friends' band Hypnotic.
