i owned a timex speed + distance for many years and loved it. I wanted a watch without the armband attachment that was not over $400 like the suunto and casio. The forman 305 and 205 looked terrible and I would never run with that thing. But now it looks like the 405 is the watch I have always wanted. I cant wait to buy one.
It looks swish - way better than the 305 but will that bezel work with wet / cold / gloved hands?
Also, can the menu transitions be sped up? If I have to wait 2 seconds from pushing the "button" to seeing the result, I'll probably end up running into a tree
how well does the gps work with this watch

Yes. there is actually an option in one of the menus that toggles from running to cycling.
