This isn't a lot like the original, and that's what I have always loved about it. if it was an exact copy of Danny Elfmans composition I probably still wouldn't be watching this video years later and probably wouldn't have pur it in an mp3 file.

It's the differences that make it yours, that's what adds to musics beauty, having your own take on something and expressing it. You breathed new life right into this song and whenever I listen to it, I am overcome with raw emotion because of this.

I play piano and took my grade 8 certificate one year ago, I have a degree in music theory and harmony. I think this transposition is great and sounds fabolous, and the author didn't just transpose the song but also arranged it in a different style. Danny Elfman, who is a rock fanatic and never had formal music training and education and actually hates accademies, conservatories and classical elitism, would love this version himself.

you didn't play the rhythm simultaneously in this recording so honestly, at this tempo, I can say I could have done better, and I don't play guitar ..at all. I can tell that (if you didn't yet) you need to get back on the basics. It sounded more like the Grand Finale, than Ice Dance, may as well just have called it "Edward Scissorhands on Guitar." so, if he wants to play in a different tempo that's alright. of course that, for a exact reproduction of the song, it's the most important thing (more than the notes - try to play with any note "happy birthday" in the right tempo. you can recognize the song. after, play the right notes but in wrong tempo. it`s more difficult to recognize it).

No, not music theory. It's just, the 2 tracks from the filmscore are so similar melodically, that this "arrangement" could have been a simplification of either tracks.

And what I meant was that he didn't play all the music you hear in the vid at the same time, he looped it in the pedal and played over it, which is pretty lame in my opinion.
