nice LP and turn table....but those crackles are driving me crazy, might i suggest cleaning your record and stylus before playing? if you use a dry cleaner, and it dosent get rid of everything, a wet cleaner should.

I have a Stanton turntable and I was wondering, what cartridge do you have and how do you make your stylus track so well? whenever I play a record, it gets all distorted towards the middle of the record because of inner groove distortion. Thanks.

@jameshodgetts The only other arm I've seen that looked like these was on a Thorens table with a mis-matched headshell (on YT). But Stanton makes their STR8 series this way intentionally and I don't understand why. Even the best-adjusted ones distort (and destroy) badly in one region or another; I still hear it here. I don't get it, is the main attraction skip-resistance?

@SpeedStacking1 hehe, I just commented something like this on another video, (real love on a 45rpm single!, I wish I had both real love and free as a bird on vinyl to listen to them "for real" as I do with all their other stuff), their music should be listened to on viny, and I think all of the legendary rock bands from the 60s and 70s should be listened to on vinyl because they intented the stuff to sound as it does on real records, not on digital or compressed mediums.

The idea came from a magazine about guns that John Lennon came across.He siad that "A magazine advertising guns siad ,Happiness is a warm gun" As siad on the english chat show , The David Frost Show, with John and Yoko Lennon as geusts in 1969.

There also is "A Hard Day's Night" too ... there is no other Beatles album that has all-original Lennon/McCartney songs and is that exuberant, rockin' and just plain fun ... and "Rubber Soul" for its brilliance and emerging fab songwriting genius. Besides the Beatles, "perfect album" contenders that I can think of off the cuff: 1st Boston album, Pink Floyd 'Wish you Were Here', Led Zep IV, Rolling Stones 'Let it Bleed', Queen 'a Night at the Opera' (not best album of all-time necessarily)

i have an eighties apple vinyl reissue and this song sounds very nice as indeed does the whole album. i put the poster and photos on my wall. heresy i know but the lp isnt worth a lot so why not

Not to worry jimik89, I'm sure there are thousands of us including myself who put the Beatles White Album photos and posters on our walls - in fact that is what they were intended for - only the serious "record collector" who is more concerned with the resell value of records (and their posters, etc) than actually enjoying them would probably think it's heresy.

It appears that you and I share somethings in common. From what I can see in the video, it appears that I have the same model Stanton turntable as you do; which whilst not being the finest around, functions very nicely. Aside from that, I own a similar pressing of the Beatles white as yours. Mine is a Direct Metal Master version (Apple label on white vinyl) that was pressed in Germany. Though, I believe mine might have been pressed in the 80's, this track in particular is also one of my fondest.

Yeah me too Grunge but i paid too much for mine i reckon cos i bid for it on Ebay & i got a bit carried away & paid £280 but it is in stunning condition & in glorious Mono , a mix that the U.S. didnt get for some reason, & a top loader with black inner sleeves & photos etc. in perfect shape. Still dont think it was valued at that much.Never mind, done now !
