  • This layout is amazing! It's just about all I would want with a small model railroad. I would consider building this someday, but not now since I'm only 14.

I'm excited to see how this layout gets built, though!

  • Looks good guys, the scene at 0:11 looks killer. But I don't understand why your hills are all covered in shrubbery instead of trees.

  • a very good video!

  • I always enjoy MR video's! Keep them coming

  • The VGN is in my backyard.... no shit it runs right thru Rock WV.

  • bombasic, but from where did they have so many FM H16-44? this model is rare, the only one they i know at the moment have bachmann!

  • You guys make me sick!!! LOL I really love this layout and am in the process of building a 4 X 8 layout...Great timing! I look forward to this series!! Thanks MR!!!

  • Suggestion: include a link in the description to the step-by-step construction videos on the MR site - Steve

  • good tips MR I also looked at some books and I have most of my structures done

  • great video! one question though: with that morse virginian loco, why is the cab side all the way to the back? Considering the low visibility issues with high hood locos, one would think that the cab should be facing towards the front

  • @vidfreak727 thats because like most southeastern railroads they ran thier locomotives long hood forward for better crew protection at grade crossings, plus it was similar to being in a steam loco kind of a heritage thing.N&W and Southern railways all ran LHF also and the long hood end was considered the front. They did this until the new saftey cab locos came out.

  • @K4JW

oh i see. I dont know much about railroad history so I didnt know that. Thanks!
