I played quite a few mods over the years. Monkey Universe, Tekagis Universe, some others that are long gone. I havn't tried FL in two maybe three years. If I were interested is it still the same process? Install my old FL CD then download the latest mod? I payed Discovery as well (can't remember what version). I kinda got a hankering to get back into it. How is it now days? A lot of players/clans?

@itlfa2009 there aren't so many factions as before but player count is ok. around 150-170 at 10 PM uk time...and 80-100 rest of the time

@Versudan what are you talking about? the game dictates a factions ships and area of influence, not the players, the discovery mod is a vanilla game extention. Corsairs always attack bretonian space, this corsair got caught after already killing a number of Bretonian Armed Forces ships, therefore was hunted down and destroyed. simple

@Stedman75 No, the game doesn't actually on most multiplayer servers. On almost all servers, you're only allowed to buy specific ships and you MUST join factions after a certain level, and once you join a faction, you're only allowed ships from that faction. This server is obviously the same considering people are playing corsairs and bretonia armed forces.

@Versudan If you join a faction, then you use technology from that faction. duur, its pretty simple really, you dont fly around with a bretonian ship, and outcast guns just because you want to, because it looks stupid. just like you dont fly around with a liberty navy ship, and Xeno guns, just because Xeno guns might be stronger, it still looks stupid.

Go back to your RP server and keep pretending to be virtual police officers. You're still going to get raped by a Stiletto armed with Nomad weapons whether you think it looks pretty or not.
