Chris is 21...he is not in High school. He said in an interview that when he was cast in Glee, he had been in college for 3 weeks. so that means he dropped out of college to pursue acting :)

On Oprah he jokingly said that the characters will never graduate and other times he said that they will. I havent heard about a recasting so a follow up to new york is possible as well. Did he honestly just say the writers are good? Did he? The writers are awful. The entire series 2 has been a continuity error, pointless story, and shitty themed episodes filled Disaster from start to finish, without even an attempt to connect to series 1. No character development, stories that were prominent in series 1 (Quinn and Puck's child etc) have been completely forgotten, like they never existed.

And let's face it, staying at McKinsley and replacing the amazing and totally awsome characters and actors they have now will cost them a lot of viewers. that was the bad thing about Glee. In the first season Rachel is a sophmore, it doesn't say about the other characters, but unless they plan on writing in that the entire glee club failed, the most it can go for is 3 years with the current cast. Since they only have sectionals and regionals once a year, they can't even make a season be a half of a year.

ok, I had to get over my shock & anger to think--they're portraying high school kids; by 2012, they're supposed to graduate. sure, Ryan Murphy could do like old crappy shows, and keep the original "Glee" kids 16 forever, that would be wonderful! you know what, instead of bringing in new kids till you run the show into the ground, just establish "Glee: the College Years." it'll be campy & cheesy & lose some of the awkward vulnerable HS charm, but at least we'll still see the original gang.

I hope everyone knows that though these characters are amazing, you can't just keep all of them the entire time. It would just get boring after awhile especially because they would have logically graduated. They are not all in the same grade though so I'm sure they can keep some of them. As much as I love the current cast and look forward to seeing them in the next couple of seasons, I think Darren was on target with his response. It's bittersweet, but the premise of the show requires new cast members with subsequent years. It would lose a lot of its relevance to kids and teenagers if it just turned into a college show after four years.

Besides, I'm excited to see what new talent they find, as well as to see what projects the current cast moves on to in the future.
