hi, i think that it is impossible too, note that in the movie the locket is never shown in one shot from the "heart making", to the opening, it is impossible to make the 2 shelves as thick and let it rotate around something and open it then

There was some commentary on the DVD which said something about how it didn't really function the way it does in the movie. But if you wanna see something AMAZING and I mean even better than the movie then check out the video I saved in my favs!

that isnt the same type that is used in the movie... in the movie the picture is not cut in half... so there is something wrong with the design of that locket... sorry but its not right...

if you've seen the movie it clearly shows that the picture is one whole picture not just two halves... put together... The Illusionist is one of my favorite movies and one of the reasons on how I got my Stage name "Malachi the Illusionist" so in the scene when the cop is investigating the "murder" he finds the locket and opens it and the picture falls out in One piece not two different parts... so either its a movie effect or it really can be done...

no its possible, i don't know how but it has to do with magnets...

it is possible.. yeah it works with magnets something about how the magnet pulls it into one side when its closed and when u open it another magnet places back into the center... if u look at other videos on youtube some people have actually made gorgeous ones

actually it can be done, without having to cut the image, I have studied the mechanics, and it is possible.

The image is simply not in the center...!!! the image will rotate to the center from its end when the hear is slid open thus moving the image wich is in one halve to the center.

when the hear is slid back, the image once again rotates to one halve, and then the two halves are rotated without damagine the image at all....!!!
