I am sooooooooo stupid I always though a comaneci salto was that move at 0:23 but now I know it is that straddle move she does. Does anybody know what that move is called at 0:23?
I cant believe how close they put the bars back then! Its so different now! But I still love this routine. And can anyone tell me why they changed the vault table?
The old horse-style vaults didn't provide enough support and spring when the gymnasts pushed off. It was easy to hurt yourself on them because they were so narrow and rigid.
i heard the score they wanted to give her was to hing for the scoreboard so they out a 01.00 intead of a 10.00 and she went skits but then they annouced that she got a perfect score
I am from Romania, and I live in the same town she did. There is a highschool with her name and other gymnasis clubs in here. So even tho we are a small town, we are very proud of our Nadia Comaneci.
is the full twist she did at :18 considered hard today?

Wow! No such thing as Giants in the 70's huh? Those bars were really close! but it was an amazing routine!

Shaposhnikova started doing giants in '77 (or at least that's the earliest video I ever found).

Simply amazing dismount. I don't think anyone can do that anymore.

i can do that and i'm not even elite. its one of the easiest dismounts these days

But this was 33 years ago, things were a lot different and the bars weren't as easy to swing/hold on to.

Yeah, well, try doing a Comaneci salto--still one of the most difficult moves ever done on bars.

its a level 5-6 dismount, qwertykingzai. i love her routine! such elegance. Everytime she transitioned, i thought she was slipping :O

she was among the first to do a dismount using high bar without using low bar

What was amazing about her handstands was that she held them straight.Today most American gymnasts can barely make it to the top
