  • Even if the government zero rates the fuel tax, the oil cartels and selfish multinationals may still force the prices to go higher. The Government is not the problem. The mighty US government seems helpless against these oil crooks. What is a small African country to do? Not collecting taxes is not the right way forward. Don't burn Kampala down in selfish and opportunistic 'walk to work' riots. That will not solve your problems.

  • Honestly speaking you people need education and more patience, the whole world is suffering from high cost of living and high fuel prices, having protests and civiil war will plunge you deeper into poverty and that's the objective of Egypt so you cannot use the Nile River. White nile comes from lake victoria you should work together to pull urselves out of poverty, don't fall for egyptian tricks, they funded LRA now they are using opposition parties. Uganda pumps oil in June 2011 be patient

  • Kenyan way is the onl WAY

  • @taskah

Are you drunk? Have you been drinking Tusker or changaa? Where is kenya now with all these protests day in day out. Oil crisis is almost a worldwide issueincluding the USA. People should look into ways like car pooling (for your benefit this means people riding in the same vehicle instead of everybody using his/her vehicle) and of course public transportation.

  • @digimixUSA If only many people own cars in kenya your idea can work, however that not the case. Yes the crisis is all over the world and the only thing each government can do is to share(reduce taxes) their profit with its citizens. Even in USA where more than 70% own cars, car-pooling will not work to many because work schedule overlap even roommate dont have same shift to share a car.You might be sober but with no brain. Most in Africa walk so is politics to Bisyge.
