  • I graduate high school in less than 3 months and reality has definitely hit me :/

  • aww so touching! I love this show <3 :3

  • this made me cry!!! :(

  • 1:50 those are some huge ass butterflies...

  • Im 17, this show, just gets to me... i love it so much

  • watching this as a second semester senior in college.... graduation just hit me :(

  • Iam bout 2 graduate from 6th grade and go to middle school

  • I love as told by ginger y am i cryin my eyes out loooooool

  • My creys

  • can't believe i just cried =)

  • All that for a middle school graduation? Wow. I can see if she was in catholic school from kindergarten to 8th grade but that's a bit much. lol. We got absolutely NOTHING for our middle school graduation except the 8th grade dinner dance.

  • They were only in Junior High?

  • made me cry :( best show ever. it gives so much meanings to life...

  • what would have happened if she threw the butterflies but they were all dead.......talk about depressing

  • @jemluvu That was a good laugh, thanks.

  • I've just re-watched the whole season.

This is one of those Nickolodeon cartoons that made so much sense to me - I mean, GInger dealt with real issues - they might not seem as powerful as world hunger or as pressing as climate change but truthfully, none of us even dreamt that growing up would mean forgetting childish crushes and focussing on the things that really count in life.

    I love this show.

"BFF's for life" - Oh, if only they knew :)

  • @IGADaboutYOU And now they're showing shows like fred the show. :(

  • i really think the butterflies were a nice touch. wish we did that at my graduation. course mine was indoors lol

  • That would be so tragic if Ginger opened the box and all the butterfly were dead. 'should have poked air holes*

  • I join the horde of people who cried at this episode. ;~;

  • This episode is so opposite of what actually happened in my life that I can't even watch it =\

  • Back in the days we had some amazing shows! <3

  • ohoooohoh

  • @spngbabe52 don't say the word 'holy' for unnecessary things!

  • AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW (tear) such a cute episode!

  • i mean sad

  • this episode makes me cry, it's so saw and beautiful at the same time

  • Wow

Do kids in American schools really wear gowns at /middle school/ graduations?

I'm pretty sure they're only used for uni graduations in the UK.

    Also

I watched this show when I was a kid too. It's great to see it again. :)

  • @0kattyheather0 yes, we wear gowns for 'junior high' (i guess you could call middle school) graduations, high school graduations and university/college graduations.

  • @PwnToob It seems strange to me but it's a lot more interesting than my graduation. We just sat in the hall with our regular uniforms on. In fact, I only remembered that I'd even had one when I watched this and started thinking about it. (shows how much of an impact it had on me ^ ^; )

  • @0kattyheather0 at my middle school graduation females had to wear all white and males had to wear a suit

  • @0kattyheather0 they really do do this.

  • @0kattyheather0

I thought the same thing...that's a really fancy ceremony for just going from middle school to high school. I'm American, but we didn't do anything for our middle school graduation.

  • l hate dodie.

  • diz cartoon never gets old i use to look at it when i was 11 now im 20 and i still love it me and my son look at it all the time

  • Lol at Mipsy falling when she tries to catch the butterfly. She's such a klutz . Lol at Miranda too she doesn't even care about the butterflies.

  • This show makes me want to hug my friends, kiss the one I love and then go home to have dinner with my family-all at the same time! :) Thanks for posting!

  • aww i loved watching this, especially about to go to university and leave my best friends :')

  • That speach was awesome

  • im almost 19 and I just cried.

it took me this long to get past everything and realize i need to do what makes me happy. :)

  • I actually cried.

  • lol 0:18 mipsys wearing an eye patch from when the rock bounced off dodies window

  • that was an inspiring speech!

  • I cried! omg i cried! lol. and i like the brunette maci

  • Just left college (the equivalent of high school in England since we start at 17 and leave about 18), and my best friends are ALL moving away :( It's a shame, but I guess you have to try and embrace it

  • Oh man, I remember seeing this episode and crying my little eyes out...

  • i really wish it was true that you stay best friends like that with your friends that u grew up with but its vary rare for that to happen....i'm only friends with one of my friends from childhood ...use to be best friends but that change in high school :(

  • @o0ostellazstaro0o same here.... She told me she didn't want to go to the same high school as I did... it's never been the same since that.

  • Now THIS, made me cry.

  • lol butterflys scare the crap outta me

  • im ganna cry soo hard </3 im goin to highschool come september, and this actually really touched me, even tho its only a cartoon lol

  • I never understood graduating from JUNIOR high, lol. You get four more years afterwards.. then comes the real graduation :)

    Can't wait to start college!!!

  • *sighs* I just graduated middle school high school come August...I'm probably going to be watching this show every day to survive....

  • @kitten287 High school isn't that bad. :P

  • @pieandbob1 I know lol ;) I was jk ing

  • I'm graduating college today & rewatched this whole episode!! <3 ATBG was one of my favorite shows as a kid! <3

  • @ShinbiBelldandy I've just graduated from college, and the feeling of being afraid to grow up hasn't gone yet. I loved Ginger as a junior high, and I still love her as an adult! :)

  • holy crap i actually teared up. the first major event that her father has ever shown up to. geeze i miss old nickelodeon so much.

  • this was such an awesome show!!!!!

  • I'm graduating 8th grade this month and watching this made me realize that it's okay to grow up :]

  • @Happygigi700 wait til u graduate college, then ur grown up! no rush, its over rated

  • that's one small grad class! there were around 400 in mine! graduation took FOREVER!

  • Okay, so this episode made me tear up a little bit because I am graduating from high school on the 12th, and everything is going to be changing....heck, things are already changing for me! I know that this is about going into high school, but I'm getting out of high school which is 20 times scarier, but just as exciting. :)

  • ...Why is Mipsy wearing an eyepatch at 0:20? Did she hurt herself at some point in the episode and I just missed it?

  • @RandomWriter9110

i think it's because in an earlier episode where dotie's mom was trying to be cool, she got hit in the eye with a pebble that courtney threw.

  • @kthies14 - Oohh, okay. I think I saw the episode you're talking about, but I don't remember that happening in it. Thanks! :)

  • @RandomWriter9110 I think it's because Courtney accidentally threw a rock at her eye in "About Face". Nice connection. I didn't notice that before.

  • @Banjokazooiemaster - The funny thing is, I saw the episode "About Face", but I don't remember Mipsy getting hurt! You'd think they would've at least mentioned how she got hurt in this episode so the people who didn't see that episode understood why she suddenly became a pirate. xD

  • I graduated high school last year and even though it was a year ago this made me cry, again. So emotional, that speech was perfect.

  • BEAUTIFUL speech Ginger!!!!

  • Ginger rocked that speech!!!

  • this episode made me cry when i first saw it... this show really touched my heart... sometimes i wish that i was friends with ginger, dodie and macie... ; )

  • @mizella15 woah! dodie too>>??!!

  • @Everyone Don't keep bashing the new cartoons just thank god u grew up watching shows like this... Excellent episode Amazing series

  • middle school graduations are so mediocre!!

  • Aww..As Told By Ginger and Hey Arnold will always be the most moral-filled and inspirational cartoons. It's sad they don't make 'em like this anymore. I watched this when I was a kid, and now I'm in high school, and I still love this show. I sort of want to do the butterfly thing at my graduation.

  • This made me cry! My dad didn't showup to my Graduation:( Bt My Boyfriend at the time and my Besties Plus My Mom was there to make it better! Graduating 8th Grade Seemed So Huge Back Then! Now Ima Junior In High School. I missed childhood:/

  • they have such a small class o.o

  • I'm from Scotland, just about to graduate highschool. I feel like Ginger. I am not ready to let go and loose everyone. It's different from leaving primary school, because then you were younger, friends werent the same as they are now, you hadn't experienced much and you had somewhere definite to go. Now its all about choosing uni's and getting ready to leave. I am not ready to let go of highschool yet. It means too much. But hopefully when the time comes, I'll be ready :) xx

  • I absolutely love this show even when growing up watching it!!!!!!!

  • I'm a fresh men can't believe how fast I grown I'm a 5"11 fresh men and I'm only 14 I will allways miss this show and the other great old shows I grew up on ATBG you rock and Rocos modern life I'm said because nickelodeon got to crazy I'm crying my eyes out right now

  • i,m in high school now bud you know first i didnt think aboud getting older or things like that bud its weerd i lookd in the mirror yeasterday and i was thinking how did i get so big soo fast just a few years ago i was just in middle school and you know i really feels weerd its like i,m growing to fast :P

  • @rini12309 I hear ya, being in 10th grade is just weird, not only because its a double digit grade, but its way beyond elementary and middle school. Sheesh where did the good, young years go? 11th Grade next year is going to be even more confusing, then 12th, then college. Time goes by too fast.

Yet here we are watching the good old shows they aired in elementary/middle school (if you're in my generation). Ahhh teh good old days.

(Very cliche but so true :p )

  • @TheBlueWind wait till you're 23 and have been done with college for almost a year! then you'll feel old

  • @oooh19 Ahh at the moment I can't wait to have a set path for my life so I don't have to worry about it but yes I understand. I am trying to enjoy these last few years. Haha my brother is 23 and he says that all the time too! (As a joke, I baked him a birthday cake with a grave on it lol).

  • I'm about to head off to college and I was thinking that nothing beats this show. It's not childish like most of the cartoons these days and I'm happy that I was able to have it when I was growing up :)

  • HA! Mipsy fell off the chair

  • I'm graduating from college this spring and though high school was ages ago... the feeling is the same. I'm dreading the future when I should be excited. I love this show.

  • I'm turning 20 this year, but this show will always have a special place in my heart :)

Children's television is so lacking in substance today... 'tis sad.

  • I sure do miss shows like ATBG what happen to all the good shows???

  • Omggg almost cried lol i miss junior high sooo much high skool sucks =///

  • I cried at this episode because I'm about to leave junior high

  • I NEARLY CRYED.....makes me miss this show even more....

  • I love this show but why do i feel like i wanna cry right now?

  • @iluvmysvu waht about rugrats grown up?

    lol xD!

  • Gingers moms wish made me tear up a bit

  • LOL Mipsy's eye patch!

And the ending was so sweet <3 it made me want to cry

  • The ending so sweet, i nearly cried

  • hahaha carl with the beach ball...classic

  • o m g i love this show so much still.

19 years old but still have the heart of a kid. (':

  • ginger sucks for making me cry. :p

  • "...or seeing your dad show up at graduation..."

Got tears in my eyes at that. My own dad is in a wheelchair and for the last couple years it's been difficult for him to get places, so he hasn't been able to go to any of my band or choir or acting things...so all I really wanted was for him to be at my high school graduation. And he was.

So I know exactly what Ginger's feeling there...

  • :) Ginger and Darren were holding hands and still can't get over Macy new look for graduation it's cute(:

  • I'm graduating middle school this year

  • 0:30 Mipsy's eye is still injured from About Face with Courtney and the rock ricochet...

    Sorry, just love that reference.

    XD

  • Omg I'm just going to cry! I miss being a kid and watching all these great shows on tv. I wanna be a kid again * waaaaah* :'(

  • @smoke10108 how i wish i could relive my childhood all the time.

  • @smoke10108 And this episode is about growing up hehe but yeah, I know what you mean. Growing up is hard.

  • This episiode made me cry.

No TV show has ever made me cry.

  • Darren better hit that in high school

  • geeze, they're acting like it's high school graduation. middle school promotion to high school was not a big deal

  • This episode is so sad, it feels like it's the last episode just because of the montage and the speech... I might even miss middle school after wtaching this episode! :')

  • @MaximumFaxness001 i know right! by the way i LOVE ur name!

  • LOL THE EYE PATCH! XD

  • Can anyone one were Ginger steals

  • @0176michelle the episode is called "ginger the juvey"

  • Does anyone know the song at 2:10-2:38??!

    PLEASE CAN SOMEONE TELL ME!!

  • The ending almost made me cry and think about all of my good times in the past.

This was such an inspirational show and i loved it!! :))

  • wow, mipsy kinda went south after season 1 huh?

  • aww. what happened to mipseys eye??? sheer case of karma is my guess. haha. my favorite saying "god dont like ugly". :p

  • @ifukknluvjayz In the episode "About Face" Courtney threw a pebble at dodie's room window to get her attention, but the rock bounced back and hit mipsy instead

  • tears to my freakin' eyes <33

  • AWWW! WHAT WAS UP WITH NOELLE?! she looked so sad!

  • Aww I miss the good days and watching this show. This episode made me think about graduating highschool and in a way sort of helped :]

  • is that girl wearing an eyepatch?

  • when i graduted middle school i had two parts tearing me 1. FREEDOM OMG FREEDOM! 2.Iam going to miss these simple days and my friends. i did cry

  • I grew up with this cartoon and this was probably the most educational episode ever. What happened to meaningful cartoons like this?

  • @Squizree yeah... what hapepened?? :(

  • When I saw this in 2004, I myself had recently graduated middle school and was about to go to high school. And this part made me cry.

  • Courtneys Mum is sooo having an affair with the Buttler/driver/maid =] haha"!! x

  • @MarisaHoare

I'm starting to suspect Winston may be Blake's biological father and it's all hush-hush, lol! Seeing as Mr. Gripling's always out of the picture!

  • @Hulk2k6 Exactly ,"! Defo maybe even Courtneys :)

  • this show forms my true self

  • I don't miss it. Maybe because I didn't finish at the school I started in (transferred). I will never be attending a high school reunion for ANY of my schools. To me it's just a comparison game. See who came out on top years later. I wanted to go to college as soon as I started HS. I even took college courses IN school. Anything to make it bearable.

  • @MrRadaikon

Actually reunions really aren't too bad. I went to my five year and it turned out to be a lot of fun. It's not about who's on top or even comparing people to where they are. It was just a bunch of old classmates having fun together.

  • butterfly "oh god we were in that box for days, FREEDOM FREEEDOM!"

  • Loool who the fuck is Dodie hugging at 1:59 hahaha

  • Comment removed

  • LOL!!! Karma just got back at Mipsy AGAIN!!!! lol xD

  • this made me happy cry :')

  • whay does mipsy have an eye patch...???

  • @lileny7 cuz courtney threw a rock at dodies window and it hit mipsy in the eye

it was in the episode where dodies mom acts like a teen

  • this is a cartoon someone can relate to and be like true and learn something cartoons arnt just suppose to be funny and amusing i love this show i wanna buy it on dvd or somthing.

  • I love this show. When I was in elementary school, I didn't see the depth it had and it actually got me terrified of going to high school. Now I'm an uprising junior and I can understand how she felt and why since I went through that as well.

  • END OF AN ERA

  • The 90's were the best.

  • @pansyinthegarden this was shown from 2000-2004. but i get your point. nothing beats old school nick

  • This is how cartoons and shows should be. Showing every one growing up and changing some how.

  • Oh my god, why can't shows be like this anymore? I have to turn to youtube just to watch something of value? Nothing, nothing beats As Told by Ginger!

  • aw i'm with you guys sitting here crying and missing the old days.

  • I cried...literally.

And when she released the butterflies...I cried harder. Butterflies seem to symbolize for me exactly what they stand to symbolize here, so yeah. <3

  • can somebody please upload the last 10 episodes when she's in high skool??????????? i wud reallly appreciate it or tell me where to get them

  • oh I remember this show! I used to watch it when I was middle school...but re-watching it now has such a deeper meaning. I experienced the same feelings Ginger had when I graduated high school...I still have them now and I'm in college! this show has so many great messages and morals that you just can't find in any tv shows today..these networks have really downgraded in their entertainment value. And even though this wasn't my favorite old show I enjoy it more now because I feel I can relate

  • @StarWarsNerd456 Me too, I can't believe I was so emotional over all that crap. I think I spent too much time thinking about it instead of having fun like I should have been.

  • i miss this show much! it's not like the mindless stuff that everyone shows nowadays. this show was fun to watch and it had some really good messages!! gah i wish i was back in the late 90s to around 2003. i miss all the shows they had back then!!

  • this epsiode made me cry.

  • Even as a cartoon, this show had a message. Unlike today, it's just junk and garbage to rot kids minds.

  • I totally agree with you.. I showed my little sister this show because it was a great show back in the day

  • @BlueJeanBaby012 RIGHT ON TO THAT...I'M ALMOST 30 AND I'M WATCHING THIS SHOW WISHING MY DAUGHTER HAD SHOWS LIKE THIS TO WATCH TO HELP HER ALONG AND TEACH HER THINGS BESIDES SINGING MINDLESS HANNAH MONTANNA SONGS OR WANTING TO PURCHASE $100 OUTFITS JUST BECAUSE THEY WERE WORN BY SOME DISNEY ACTOR

  • @TIGAakaMAMAFATKAT Don't type in all caps, it's rude.

  • @physigory to who? I wasn't even talking to you....OMG

  • @TIGAakaMAMAFATKAT To everyone. It's perceived as screaming to anyone under the age of thirty.

  • courtney's dad

  • They could air this show for years to come and it would always have viewers who could relate to it. In fact, they should! Every girl who has gone though or will go through junior High could relate to Ginger at some point.

  • This show has such good morals :)

    It's genious and beautiful.

That speech makes me think of leaving my friends next year :/

I love each and everyone of them so much and I hope I never loose them x x x

  • @HanghojLisa Just saw this comment that I made one year ago. I commented on this video five minutes ago but now I have found this one and I am ready to cry. The year has zoomed by and now I am about to leave :'( I can't bear the thought of loosing the friends I have amde but I know when the time comes I will be ready. Ginger has inspired me in so many ways over the years. But the most important for me is that because of her I started to keep a journal and I always will <3 xx

  • I fully admit to tearing up at the end.

I love this show, and how it has some episode for everything I feel.
