I have a question. I have finally seen "North&South". Great BBC film - they hit one out of the ballpark and Richard Armitage - yes! But I am puzzled by a sub-plot in the 3rd episode (I think). "Voucher" (sp?) kills himself I'm guessing. But who kills "Lennox", the guy who tussels with the brother at the train station? Is it suppose to be obvious? Or is it a loose end that doesn't matter?

Well I haven't read the book but from the movie I thought he had some accident and died. Like he fell and hurt himself really badly and died. That is what I get from it, but I guess I didn't really care because all I kept seeing was Richard on the screen! LOL

It was partly from the fall, but he had a drinking problem too that had made him ill, and the fall, I think, hastened his demise. It's all explained in the book somewhere!
