  • i think the swimming pool (sorry i dont know what it means in english) are to undersized

    poor tillikum =(

i can understand why he is so pushy

  • @takenbytaku Sea World's desperate rationalizations for their Captive Orcas flaccid dorsal fins is completely unsubstantiated by empirical observation and data, clearly the fact that Orca dorsal fins have no bones or muscles for support is irrelevant to their stability. To imply gravity to be the cause is at the very least misleading. Sea World's Brad Andrews commented, "It doesn't mean anything really. I like it. It's a little bit different"

  • poor Tillkum his dorsal fin is collapsed. It's so wrong :(

  • "Humans have a kinship with whales, and too long have

we abused these animals with our selfish curiousity. Too long have our ends - science,

revenue and entertainment - justified the means-.C.R. Roberts (1994)

  • when i was a kid and watched Free Willy i would of loved to go see the whales in captivity but now i'm older i look at this and can't help but think how very sad it is

  • Kill Tilikum? What a stupid idea! How about set him free. He never should have been trapped and kept in isolation in the first place. I have NEVER been to Seaworld nor will I ever go. Those people are the real murderers.

  • both ideas, killing AND setting him free are stupid! why can't people just see what happened to Keiko and try NOT to make the same mistake?! come on! if idiots set him free he will DIE too! I really dont know what to do and I dont have any idea but what I know is that these are NOT good isdeas

  • Your prob right Orcalover. I have no idea what the solution is. I just think ppl who want him destroyed are ignorant...

  • I agree with you 100%. It's surprising how many ignorant responses I see here on youtube and the OP is obviously young, delusional and retarded.

Yes setting him free would lead to an early death similar to Keiko, killing him would be taking another life that NOBODY has the right to do. What happened was a tragedy, some say the trainer ignored some warning signs about Tillikum being frustrated, some say she took too many risks with an orca that had little interaction with humans who knows?

  • @Orcalover182 Perhaps you should look a little more into the plan involved in setting him free, or perhaps Lolita, if it suits your fancy.

Regardless, captivity is wrong and should end immediately. The breeding programs should stop and the whales should be retired and allowed to live our the rest of their lives in peace.

  • @Orcalover182 pretty sure he would die a happy whale even if he had just a few days in the sea.

  • He shouldnt really be "turning round" since when are there any walls in the ocean. I will NEVER visit one of these parks.

  • go to hell, asshole! you don't even know anything about him! killing him would be just like taking ANOTHER life! Orcas are wild animals, it's like playing with wolves, bears or lions, they can surprise you anytime! you see bears killing people because they tried to domesticate them and no one kills them back, because that's just NOT the solution!

  • One thing I do know based on watching videos of Tillikum is that he is usually just swimming around ALONE in his tank, with very little interaction with other orcas except during shows. Maybe they segregated him for aggression towards other orcas I have no idea, but I do think he's lacking a lot of SOCIAL contact with the other orcas at Seaworld that he needs. I'm sure that would make him a more content whale, but the reality is as you said, keeping wild animals in captivity leads to tragedy.

  • @sweetshawna1 Kill an animal that was doing what he was born to do serves Seaworld right maybe they'll grow a brain and stop taking whales from their habitat

  • Wow, look at his poor fin. These beautiful giants should not be held in captivity and should be released to the wild. This is so sad. I've lived in San Antonio, TX and Jacksonville, FL (just north of Orlando) and I refused to ever visit a sea world. If these whales were in the wild accidental deaths wouldn't exist and what happened in Orlando today could have been avoided. Very sad! RELEASE Tillikum!

  • wow lol he's really maneuvering around in there, when I was there...he just lapped the tank, nonetheless it was an awesome experience ;D

  • My goodness, he has some HUGE pectorals!

  • Surely, surely that isn't the only tank he swims in? I mean come on...that is really small for an animal like that. There should be a large communal pool like a football field for size where the whales can interact and swim around with more freedom. And why on Earth is Tilikum by himself? :(

  • no, that's not the only pool they swim, they have more area, and tillikum is alone because the other orcas should be in the other pools and or making a show

  • well that makes sense. I have never been to Sea World, but I hope to go this summer. I plan to go to the Florida location, so that is where Tilikum is as I found out. Florida is the closest to me as I live in Tennessee.

  • @Timothy2035 Because Seaworld can't give two shits about the welfare of their animals

  • Damn hes big

  • actually, as big as tillikum is, there was an orca named orky who would make tillikum look puny in comparison. he was 14,000 pounds(tilly is only 12,000)and he lived at both marineland of the pacific and sea world SD until his death in 1988. when orky would haul up out of the water, he was an impressive sight to behold

  • I know that5, but I meant NOWADAYS he's the biggest, I think maybe Ulises is the second biggest.. but whatever Tilly is the biggest bull.

Was Orky sooo big like that? damn!

  • man

    that is a BIG boy

    myspace . com/page9

  • Yes he is, Tillikum is the biggest orca in captivity. :D

  • Well, I think Keiko was bigger when he was alive and in captivity.

I've seen loads of videos of bull orcas in the wild around the 30 ft length, and heavier than 12,000 lbs.

  • yes, Keiko was bigger, at least it's what researches says, but nowadays he is the biggest. Ulises in SeaWorld California is the second.

  • From what I read, trainers don't get into the water with Tilikum nowadays. Though people were always able to approach Keiko.

  • Let me guess, he does tricks. It's the same in every marine park! Either they could do without them, or it brings them the needed money, they have them do tricks!

  • sorry, what do you mean by that? what`s your point? we were talking about orca's sizes then you talk about money and tricks...confusing

  • Think about it. The World's Largest Orca in captivity. They'll make money making them do tricks. ALL marine parks do.

  • they "won't", they are already doing that... sorry but I still didn't get yor point.

Every orca in captivity does tricks.

  • Yes, but none of them are just kept for breeding and display!

  • I so beautiful
