A landing might not always be as smooth as we want them to, but they are at least safe. This landing wasn't comfortable, but it was perfectly safe for the passengers.

@Slade366 The burnt rubber you smell is the rubber tires making contact with the runway... nearly every landing you see will have that. The screeching noise you hear is the reverse thrust taking effect. Kbye.

@Arock213231 Pilot 2/5? This was an absolutely perfect landing. Not even particularly hard.

Besides, a soft landing is, as contradictary as that may sound, in 50% of the cases not a good landing. There are a ton of circumstances under which a pretty hard landing is much safer than a soft would have been. When it's raining for example, the pilot must slam the plane onto the runway in order to prevent aquaplaning.

There are also certain wind situations that require a hard touchdown.
