@IchbinSchalker It's on the Die Krupps Machineries of Joy EP. There's also a newer, slightly heavier version on Too Much History. The Metal Years (Vol. 2) from 2007.
This is an awesome song. I remember hearing it at a front 242 show in Philadelphia before the band came on way back in 88 or 89. The bassline is very simliar to Noise Unit's "Stuktur". You can't beat that uh huh breakdown hook for the world!!

People must be “against” fascism and Nazism. Otherwise, you cannot survive in the so-called democracy. Democracy= soviet light. Liberalism, communism capitalism is ok but not the rest. Freedom of speech? Yeah right.
I consider this to be a prime example of criticism against the threadmill of learn-work-pay-work-pay-work-grave. Especially at the end of the song you can "feel" the pain and hopelesness in such an arbitrary society like the ones of today. Well done, especially since the sound itselfs reminds of a machine pumping and pounding.
because they went from being electro-industrial-experimental to being a guitar metal group (along the lines of biohazard and metallica) in the 1990s to now. he does have a new song with Client out right now though that sounds like classic/good Krupps.
I thought that may be it. Granted, their sound changed, but I think to say they suck is a bit harsh and I would never compare them to craptastic Metallica.
it all actually started to go down right after they did an album of metallica covers... hence the reference. ironically, that cover album is 100% electronic.
Thankyou... Humanity has a natural tendency to be obsessed with both Power and Meaning. This meets one of the obsessions through utilizing fascist imagery, not politics...
die krupps, nazis? of course. they are germans = nazis!!
GOSH, I HATE THIS SHIT!!!
i can't get it. why ppl still think such stuff. as stated, listen to fatherland, and if you don't think different after hearing it? i tell you, you're not better than a stupid, smug nazi.

@AeussersteKraft true, nonetheless pop will eat itselfs version came first, in 1994 (. Shortly after Die Krupps had done a rerecording of the song with p.w.e.i's vocalist Clint Manswell that was featured on the rare 2-disc special edition of pop will eat itself's remix album "Two fingers my friends". The version on Too Much histroy is virtually the same; the only difference being that Die Krupps vocalist Jürgen Engler sang it, making it more of a cover than a remix
@AeussersteKraft Shouldn't even be an issue. A band from Germany that sings in German/English? How could someone label German as Nazi? That's like saying America is pure evil because they had G. W. Bush as president. Beleive me, the citizens of Germany were treated terribly by the Nazi party. To an extreme I hope never gets repeated.
No mean to disrespect, but "Ich bin ein Ausländer" is a PWEI song, not Die Krupps'. DK remixed it, though.

Early german electronica like Kraftwerk, DAF, Krupps and this never had a single grain of fascho in it. It´s a certain style, you can still find it today in scooter.
Nazis consider this music as abnormal and degenerated.
Most of them prefer folksingers/songwriters in a Dylan-style.
it is not racist, but it cultivates a certain idea of life (with industrial work being its centerpiece) and that in turn is very close to the idea DAF (Deutsche Arbeits Front) in the Thir Reich and like.
Still it has some place in history of mankind and it is not more and not less righrwingish than Rammstein. Great Music, but it is good to know a little about history
yes, its good to know a little about history, but its more important to draw the right conclusions.
look at the interviews with the member of Nitzer Ebb and you will see, that its different to make a liveshow in a typical EBM-Style and the thoughts of the band members. in my opinion they are antifaschists and antirassists.
it is really interesting how paroid people are with this topic ... did I claim, that either Nitzer Ebb or the Krupps were Nazis?!?!
Reading and understanding appearently don't go together easily when it comes to differentiating...
and by the way, of course the Nazis were not the only ones who pointed out the beauty of 'industrial work' it could easily lend from socialist ideology as well, I was just explainign why people tend to come up with these sort of comparison ...
that's right, but you wrote, it would cultivate a certain idea of life and that in turn is very close to the idea DAF. But thats not right. this is a kind of art and when the costumer dont draw the right conclusions, then its not a problem of the artist. you havent to explain history to me! i'm a historian. thats not the problem here. its a problem to understanding a kind of art and maybe we have an communication problem.
look, if you are really a historian, you should know, that there are always many different interpretation of history (and most often not only one that is 'right'). The association of those ideas with one strand of Nazi-Ideology (and by the way a rather sidelined, since DAF-people were really not very influential) is evident to me. That is not to say, that those bands are Nazis or whatever, however, it does mean, that this s the root of people thinking they could be ... got me right?
Eh, DAF were a deliberate parody of Naziism - they took the imagery and made it a gay fetish thing. That's what influenced EBM and post-industrial - Laibach do a similar thing, replacing the gay element with cartoonish dictatorship. And this is Die Krupps - this song is about a socialist principle (fair pay for work) and they've also recorded a number of anti-nationalist songs (Germaniac, Fatherland).
The Hitler Jugend would have love this. Pure germanic totalitarian vibe, even though you are nazi or not, fascism has a beautiful estethic. Ian Curtis would have agreed.
I read a caption once it said "NitzerEBB ten years of electronic lust" I love that quote. I got into them accidentally when they opened for Depeche Mode in 1990 Violater, I've never been the same scince. Die Krupps new to me, there awesome too.
I remember the first time I heard this was at a front 242 show at the Trocadero in philadelphia way back in '88 (I think). The hook/chorus of this song blew me away. I had to have it but it was very hard to find. I think I had to buy a Die Krupps compilation to get it.
Thanx for upping this vid!!! I had already forgotten about this, but when seeing the 'Rhönrad' (german), it all came back! "Sehnen stählern - Schweiss wie Öl" JAAA!!!
Yeah, I know TG and the whole Industrial Records gang. I also know that beyond those classic groups the term "industrial" becomes increasingly nebulous. This song features industrial sounds: metal clanging on metal. It has an industrial aesthetic and, while it may be more dancefloor-oriented than the experimental works of C93 et al, I still consider both these bands to be industrial.
Are you perhaps a little butthurt at how varied the definition of "industrial" has become? Would you rather everyone stuck to one formula? Do you try to stop your friends from listening to EBM, neofolk, ritual/martial, ambient, industrial rock or noise because none of these genres were around before the 70s?
I can see you're not the sort of person who'll agree to intelligent debate, so I'm just gonna have to say you're a cunt. Sorry.
Let me see, the thing is the confussion it generates, in my opinion EBM, Aggotech, Futurepop are not industrial, but electronic based music, if you like it do it that way, but I dont.
Industrial metal, nah, perhaps cross over metal but still got call it
industrial metal.
Neofolk, and that stuff I dont know if call it industrial, neither electronic music.
Noise(except those danceable shits), and Industrial rock are more into industrial concept.
i dont mind industrial...although in ebm i can hear industrial elements...and the same for industrial...but i like ebm more and so.
my main music interests are black metal, gothic metal and ebm....industrial although not a big fan, im ok with and wont be tortured listening to it...but thats industrial electronic though...i hate industrial metal
yeah, im not gonna argue with anyones musical tastses...they listen to what they will, so yeah i just let them get on with it..if they have a problem with mine i will defend it but i wont like go all over the top about it, so if it gets to that point i just say "yeah ok sure whatever your into" and walk away
LOL "pfft" Yeah, I don't know why it is in this order at times but at least you can be rest assured that the person you specifically replied to still got the message. :o)
What I can't get, is this new audio preview. I never saw that before until just this video. What the hell is that all about? It is cool. I would type cuss words just to hear the mechanical voice say them LOL.
I know that this is not a nazi song but if it was I would just love it more.

The Hitler Jugend would have love this. Pure germanic totalitarian vibe, even though you are nazi or not, fascism has a beautiful estethic. Ian Curtis would have agreed.

I remember the first time I heard this was at a front 242 show at the Trocadero in philadelphia way back in '88 (I think). The hook/chorus of this song blew me away. I had to have it but it was very hard to find. I think I had to buy a Die Krupps compilation to get it.

Haha, my thoughts exactly. Industrial workout!
Sesquipedaliantique 3 years ago 2
Industrial?, nah, I thouight this was industrial for a while like you, but EBM is not industrial, is Agressive Techno.
Look for Trobbing Gristle, but if you already know trobbing and say that, then What the fuck is happening with you!?
das81 3 years ago 2
Yeah, I know TG and the whole Industrial Records gang. I also know that beyond those classic groups the term "industrial" becomes increasingly nebulous. This song features industrial sounds: metal clanging on metal. It has an industrial aesthetic and, while it may be more dancefloor-oriented than the experimental works of C93 et al, I still consider both these bands to be industrial.
Good day to you, sir.
Sesquipedaliantique 3 years ago
That's biased, industrial for having metal capling?.whatever, you can put EBM and TG in the same floor dumbass.
das81 3 years ago
That's biased, industrial for having metal capling?.whatever, you can'n put EBM and TG in the same floor dumbass.
das81 3 years ago
Are you perhaps a little butthurt at how varied the definition of "industrial" has become? Would you rather everyone stuck to one formula? Do you try to stop your friends from listening to EBM, neofolk, ritual/martial, ambient, industrial rock or noise because none of these genres were around before the 70s?
I can see you're not the sort of person who'll agree to intelligent debate, so I'm just gonna have to say you're a cunt. Sorry.
Sesquipedaliantique 3 years ago
Let me see, the thing is the confussion it generates, in my opinion EBM, Aggotech, Futurepop are not industrial, but electronic based music, if you like it do it that way, but I dont.
Industrial metal, nah, perhaps cross over metal but still got call it
industrial metal.
Neofolk, and that stuff I dont know if call it industrial, neither electronic music.
Noise(except those danceable shits), and Industrial rock are more into industrial concept.
so now go fuck yourself.
das81 3 years ago
i dont mind industrial...although in ebm i can hear industrial elements...and the same for industrial...but i like ebm more and so.
my main music interests are black metal, gothic metal and ebm....industrial although not a big fan, im ok with and wont be tortured listening to it...but thats industrial electronic though...i hate industrial metal

Whatever, everybody has its opinion, at least you are not an ass like the carrot eater.
das81 3 years ago
yeah, im not gonna argue with anyones musical tastses...they listen to what they will, so yeah i just let them get on with it..if they have a problem with mine i will defend it but i wont like go all over the top about it, so if it gets to that point i just say "yeah ok sure whatever your into" and walk away
Xegethra 3 years ago 2
ouch bitch!

Peace dude. :o)

buthurt, perhaps you by puting that carrot in your tight ass and then eat it!
das81 3 years ago
Are you still here? Does it really matter if I think this is industrial or not?
Sesquipedaliantique 3 years ago
nah, forget it, we got our opinions so lets not start WW3 for a semantic issue.
