Great Selection cards. Sadly The Song wasn't about Bangor Co.Down. Debbie Cook, when interviewed for the BBC Radio 4 documentary, which aired on 29th September, 2011, the song was "absolutely yes" about Bangor, Wales. She said, "I was so ignorant at the time that I didn't know that any other Bangor existed.
Well done! Yes, it's The Kinks "Picture Book", an obscure album track from 1968. BTW, thanks for making some great, positive videos of N. Ireland. I'm a Saintfield man myself, but lived in Bangor for a while before moving to the USA and really appreciate your contributions on YouTube.
@GiftsByTheGreen Cool, I had heard the name of the song and my mum and dad always used to sing it, but I never knew they were the same tune! Where in USA do you live? Glad you like the videos, let me know if there anywhere you want to know what it looks like now and I'll try and do video if you want.
@voodoochilled1 Thanks for the offer, I appreciate it. I'm in Shelton Connecticut now but go back to Co. Down every few years. Most times I prefer to remember it as it was rather than how it is now, and strangely, Shelton is currently more like the Ireland of 30 years ago than Ireland is today. All the best!
omg... my house is in this D: lol
