  • OMG THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! thank you for explaining how to find it in your calculator!! now i know! i was suppose to hit the 2ND button before hitting TAN! omg..my teacher didn't even explain that so no one had any idea how to get TAN-1.. wow you're a lifesaver! (:

  • Thanks so much this saved my life for trig homework!

  • thaanks profesor...it rreally helped me a lot...ur gonna help me get an A on my quiz11

  • Thanks mate helped me so much!

  • omg thank you so much i finally understand i cant understand my teacher she is so complicated

  • Thanks bud this helped me while i was studying for my final :D!

  • Thank you ;)

  • :O i understand it...

  • Thank you very much

  • I like this. Straight forward and to the point

  • Thank you very much! can you make a video like this again but instead you have the angle and opp. and have to find the Adj. ? thanks :)

  • if the adjacent leg is x can to u put the hypoteuse? how ever u spell it

    trigonometry has me confused!

  • oh thank you so much. now i get the answers correctly ._.

  • What if you don't have a calculator? and inverse tan= (sqrt3)/3

  • @BeatForTheStreet Well, you can just memorize the values for multiples of 30 and 45 degrees. That's probably what your teacher is wanting from you. You should have memorized that sin(30) = 1/2 and cos(30) = sqrt(3)/2. So, tan(30) = sin(30) / cos(30) = 1/sqrt(3). This is the same as sqrt(3)/3 if you rationalize the denominator. In other words, the answer is 30 degrees.

  • i have question.. im using Ti 83 plus calculator, and for the last answer you said angle=tan ^-1(15/23) =33,1 degree. the angle. how ever, when i entered

    my tan ^-1(15/23) i got .577901937

why is it that you got 33.1 and i got .577?

  • @johnywyatt Your calculator is probably in radian mode. You just need to switch it to degree mode.

  • Thank youu for this informative video! :)

I forgot how to do inverse trig until I saw this! Thanks!

  • @MyAsianBoyfriend - I'm glad it helped :-)

  • Yay thank you very much! I just needed a reminder on how to do this :D

  • @Jesuslovesforever123 - You're welcome! I like your screen name :-)

  • Dude you own my teacher lol.

  • sooo we use inverse when we need to find an angle? and we use the normal function when we just wanna find the length of the side?

  • @candacee00 Yes, that is correct. :-)

  • Thanks for makin' it easy dude!

  • Hey I love your video thanks a lot now I have a general idea of what were doing in class:))

  • This is absolutely fantastic - this is exactly the missing piece of information I needed for my calc B homework!!

    Bravo

  • THankz.. IT helps A loT..

  • Thanks , it's video very helpfull............

  • omg thank you thank you thank you! this was just what i was looking for, really helped me alot

  • Am Canadian and i am sooo lost lol. this guy explains it way too fast and there isn't a small explaination why hes doing it like that.

  • Hmmm.

Are Cotangent & inverse tangent the same? Im so confused !

Also could make some videos on graphing sin , cos , tan , CSC , SEC and Cotan ?

    :)

  • @YeeewTube Cotangent and inverse

    tangent are different. Cotangent measures

the ratio of adjacent to opposite (the

    reciprocal of tangent) whereas inverse

    tangent measures an angle.

  • that was the worst explanation ever, how can you cross multiply when youve got an equals sign. is that how they teach maths in america? jheez everyone knows the better way of explaining it is multiply both sides by 10 .

  • what happens when the unknown number is on the bottom?

  • thank you! this really helped me a lot on my hw!

  • ah, helped me out so much. hahaha i got put in a physics class where i was "supposed to know this" but was never taught it in the past. thank you so much!!

  • yea i must say u saved me my exam is in two days!

  • my teacher is retarded, she should just put youtube up on the smartboard and we would all have a's

  • No it's not, either one of them could be longer or shorter than the other. The only thing you should consider is if the hypotenuse is the longest of all 3 sides. But apart from that, there's no specific rule on which of the opposite or the adjacent should be longer than the other.

  • it depends on what u call the angle. Because the side "opposite" will always be opposite the angle ur using. (duh). but in the same triangle, say u use a different angle, the line opposite is now that one. And it could be longer or shorter than the 1st one :D

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!

This helped me to understand what my confusing teacher was trying to teach us about this! :DD

  • i get it but how do i enter it on a calculator

  • Depends on the calculator actually ... for some, you have to put in the angle first and then press tangent. For others, you type just as you would write it.

  • Why couldn't my retard math teacher make it sound so easy?

  • thank you very much, this helped me a lot.

  • fuck!!! this is so awesome!!!

  • thank u

  • thanks alot you saved me.I had a test on this the next day =-=

  • dude, thanks a lot 4 posting this vid....seeing something live helps much better than reading something. Really helped me do my portfolio. :)

  • Thanks, this helped. ^.^
