The story at the beginning and end where young Amy is protesting Sonic's imprisonment is from issue 40, part of the aftermath of the Mecha Madness story. The picture at the very beginning is from issue 25, (the Sonic CD adaptation) and the picture with Fiona is from 172. The Battle Sally mentions happened in 132.

If you don't have that kind of money you could always buy one or two books or sets, you know, just so they don't go out of business from people stealing all their stuff online.

True, Tails was only 11 at this point which is younger than Amy's physical age (her metal age is debatable) But Tails spent his whole life with the Freedom Fighters. Amy grew up in Mercia. She only came to Knothole the year before.

If you look it objectively, Sally and Monkey Khan aren't a bad couple. Neither are Sonic and Amy. As a "king" M.K. can sympathize with Sally's royalty-related anxieties. He takes everything more seriously than Sonic, and is the kind of guy Sally could settle down with.
Amy would be great for Sonic because she's just as brash and easy-going as he is. He can charge into battle with her without worrying about her getting hurt or wanting something more...
...But as they hint at in 209, Sonic and Sally know each other better than anyone. They make the perfect team because he keeps her from getting over-emotional, and she keeps him from taking stupid risks. I guess it's true what they say, opposites attract. ^^
And that's the majority reason I'd most like to see Sonic and Sally get together. Sonic may not take too much seriously, but Monkey Khan takes everything too seriously. And since the Endgame saga, Sonic has matured quite a bit and gets serious when it's needed of him, though he just wouldn't be Sonic without his zingers and witty one-liners. And let's not forget that Sonic and Sally are the very backbone of the Freedom Fighters. Without either of them, Robotnik would have beaten them long ago.

I like both girls. The first time I played it I got the same impression Chip did: that Sonic was worried the dark energy that turned him into the werehog was also effecting his personality. Someone who knew him really well didn't even recognize him, and this made him wonder if he was turning into a monster.
Well in most worlds, Sonic's never even met Sally. In this one, after they'd broken up, he flirted with half of Knothole, and wound up dating Fiona Fox without giving Amy a second glance, so you can't really blame Sally for his lack of interest.

Sonic Spinball and the axed Sonic Mars/Sonic 16 that wound up becoming the also axed Sonic Xtreme, whose engine was used in Sonic Adventure.
Yes, the idea of a hedgehog named Amy predates the idea of a princess named Sally. But a character based closely on the squirrels in the original 1991 game was also named Sally Acorn. She was in a number of stories including Sonic the Comic in 1993, so one could argue, the FIRST incarnation of Sally was from 1991, before the first Amy.
It doesn't really matter, though. The story-lines for the games, Sonic X, and Archie are completely separate, so there's no reason to disagree. ^^
That rumor might have gotten started because Amy was called "Princess Sally" in Sonic CD (in the manual, I think.) It might have been a failed attempt to combine the two universes, or maybe just a mistake no one caught in time. I don't know.
From what I understand, Sonic SpinBall was the closest thing to a SatAM game Sega ever produced. They were going to put Bunnie and and a couple other characters in it too, and there was an episode of the cartoon that put Sonic in a situation like the game.

You can support both couples if you consider Sonic to be a different person in each of the different story lines. Events in "Sonic X" don't effect the Sonic who knows Sally, the actions of the Freedom Fighters have no influence in games, etc.
I must say that I love this video. I'm a SonAmy fan, but I respect Sally and her fans. In fact, I really find Sally to be a rather great character, with or without Sonic at her side.

I like both girls and both couples XD The games and the comics are two different universes.. so yeah.. But the most annoying thing is that people flame Amy/Sally because they think SonAmy/SonSally is ''wrong'' ... so.. couplings don't really matter to me, but I like to deffend couplings if the flaming is ''stupid/wrong'' xD nice vid, by the way =)

Uh... the brown SQUIRREL is naked, just like all the boy hedgehogs and echidnas etc, but I don't see furry wieners on them. We're not supposed to think that hard about cartoon characters' private parts. ^_-
Though I have to admit, the amount of detail they put into Sally's figure in this particular comic is less than flattering.

She's not really an animal, she's a Mobian. In these comics, Sonic and his friends are the descendants of animal-human hybrids and identify as a single species: Mobo-Sapiens.

You know what? I think our little blue hedgehog is finally maturing towards his feelings with Amy? Like in Sonic Unleashed when Amy ran of, instead of being relieved he seemed glum and held out his hand for her |D
And SEGA's really improved Amy's artworks, her quills are longer and she looks older than in Sonic X, and yeah I do like Amy and SonAmy, Sally's an okay character, I don't really mind since Archie and games are completely different 8D

It's kind of ambiguous what was going on in Sonic Unleashed, though. The first time I played it I got the same impression Chip did: that Sonic was worried the dark energy that turned him into the werehog was also effecting his personality. Someone who knew him really well didn't even recognize him, and this made him wonder if he was turning into a monster.

Well in most worlds, Sonic's never even met Sally. In this one, after they'd broken up, he flirted with half of Knothole, and wound up dating Fiona Fox without giving Amy a second glance, so you can't really blame Sally for his lack of interest.

The first incarnation of Amy was in a Japanese comic book in 1992. She was adapted for games and didn't show up on TV until 2003. So, by your own logic, Sally's got Amy beat.

I really don't think sally's so important to sonic. I am not against sonally lovers it's that amy's older than sally (u said that in ur last message) and it's sonic's fault he put amy down in the dumps. But amy kept trying to win hs heart no matter what got in her way. and in the last sonic x video they BLUSHED at each other. :)

Sonic Spinball and the axed Sonic Mars/Sonic 16 that wound up becoming the also axed Sonic Xtreme, whose engine was used in Sonic Adventure.

Yes, the idea of a hedgehog named Amy predates the idea of a princess named Sally. But a character based closely on the squirrels in the original 1991 game was also named Sally Acorn. She was in a number of stories including Sonic the Comic in 1993, so one could argue, the FIRST incarnation of Sally was from 1991, before the first Amy.
It doesn't really matter, though. The story-lines for the games, Sonic X, and Archie are completely separate, so there's no reason to disagree. ^^

sega orginally took sally (shown in sonic spinball in pink form) and took her and turned that character into a pink hedgehog
Archie continued sonic and sally
while Sega continue off in the new direction
Now people are only making the couples, sega is trying to make games not couples
please let this Sonsal Sonamy thing end, 2 different stories no need to complain or fight

That rumor might have gotten started because Amy was called "Princess Sally" in Sonic CD (in the manual, I think.) It might have been a failed attempt to combine the two universes, or maybe just a mistake no one caught in time. I don't know.
From what I understand, Sonic SpinBall was the closest thing to a SatAM game Sega ever produced. They were going to put Bunnie and and a couple other characters in it too, and there was an episode of the cartoon that put Sonic in a situation like the game.

Yes, I know she was in Sonic SpinBall, but I was considering that an exception, since it had a very different style from the more well known Sonic games, and she hasn't been in any others since then.

Renarde: Well, yes & no. Yes, she wasn't in any competed released games since then, but she was to be in Sonic Mars/Sonic 16, which was the SatAM-based game that was scrapped for Sonic Xtreme, which too was scrapped, though its engine found its way into Sonic Adventure.

I take it that by "more involved with Sonic" you mean she appears in a wider range of popular Sonic media. That she does. That's why most younger fans and new-comers recognize her more quickly than Sally. That doesn't make either character better or worse than the other. It's just a different area of the franchise.
For it to "stay sonamy" it would have to have been Sonamy first. Sonic was proposing to Sally in Archie Comics before Sonic X even aired. But like I've been saying, it doesn't matter.

I think that the Comic universe is completely separate from the games (it even says so in one of the newer comics) so I say that if you like Sonamy then that is a possibily in the game universe (same as knuxouge) but in the Archie world lets face it, its always going to be Sonsal and knuxXjulie-su!

You can support both couples if you consider Sonic to be a different person in each of the different story lines. Events in "Sonic X" don't effect the Sonic who knows Sally, the actions of the Freedom Fighters have no influence in games, etc.
