@Satansoppressed One more thing, memorizing a book without understanding anything from it doesn't give you any privileges, because I can easily replace you with a tape-recorder, understanding what it means is another story, Muslim societies teach their kids how to read the Qur'an without understanding it, why don't they try and leave their children until they're 15-16, and then teach them that bullshit when they can think, would it have the same effect? I think not..

Some of you are making a big deal out of this. If you saw a child crying in the store for candy and the parent refused to buy it for her coz she wasn't behaving, would that be in any way child abuse?
In the end she got her cany and that was one of the main reasons she was crying.
She didn't want to be asked about the rules of recitation, and that was another reason she cried but...they told her she didn't have to...
Fair enough, she cried but, that doesn't give you the right to blame Islam.

You guys are making a huge deal out of nothing. They're not abusing her at all; it's the same thing as teaching your kid the piano or having them learn to read at an early age. I've seen parents urge children like this, and she's only crying because she's really young. Actually, I'm sure if she was really abused she would be a lot less demanding about the candy.
