  • i wanna buy that bass player a beer...or what ever he wants...i LOVE THIS SONG and to hear it with a bit of funk makes it sound like silk! this is the version ill listen to from here on!

  • One of my favorite female singers of all time.... she was great.... this is by far one of the best versions of this song I have heard...

  • Saw her in Biloxi in '80, was blown away by her, always loved her music, but to see her on stage, what a night. She was "It" back in the day, nothing can compare to her in today's music.

  • @houligans5150 Never saw her live but man I would have loved too.... she was definitely in her prime here without a doubt... she was great.....

  • I saw the bass solo on a advertisment for laser disc back in '81. This is the second time I've seen this video.....amazing how time flies.

  • @63weezer Bob Glaub is on Facebook. Write him. He will be thrilled.

  • When this came out in 1980, very few people in New York City had cable TV. I paid a guy at an electronics store $20 for a BETAMAX tape of this concert!

  • This performance takes the studio version to a new level.

    You're so good Linda.

  • @mcmorrison Absolutely right! Much better version live... better & an extended version... you just can't go wrong with this....

  • Love Dugmore's "slow burn" at 4:01. You just don't hear something that effective, yet simple anymore. The play between Dugmore and Kortchmar is awesome and really compliments the song. Of course Glaub's solo is right on. One of the best live versions of her stuff she ever did. Of course, being a drummer, my all-time favorite Russ Kunkell mans the skins. Doesn't hurt to have the great Billy Payne from Little Feat on Keyboards. And how often do you see the manager in the show. Way to go Peter!

  • @Seaclam67 EBow, baby! And more cowbell! Linda was just the ultimate total package - the voice, the material, the players, the production and, God knows, The Look! If you get the chance, don't miss Anne McCue live and you will hear guitar that effective - she can play that Rock'n'Roll!

  • Excellent!

  • Hey Linda! I couldn't have put it better my self. If I didn't know this song was written years ago, I'd swear it was written about a fat loser from Puerto Rico! LOL

  • OMG!! I have been looking for this performance of You're No Good for decades. I saw it on HBO and have always loved this version. Dan Dougmore and Danny Kortchmar really do well on the guitar.

  • If Jerry Brown runs for Governor, she probably will

  • 4:46 is so beautiful!!.........

  • 4:46 is pure heaven.........

    so #@*'in great!!

  • This should be put on DVD without a doubt.... but of course they won't.... these companies just refuse to put out any vintage stuff like this....

  • Bob, I listened to it again just to hear your bass solo. Loved the descending octaves. Then watch Kootch. Just to see that bead of sweat dropped from his brow.

  • @Bluesdirections Yes, that bass solo is KILLER.

  • @Gunstar1701 I got to connect with him on Facebook and it was a thrill when he replied. He said it was thirty years ago but I told him it still sounded cool.

  • @Bluesdirections Ultra cool. That's the wonderful thing about recorded media. Thirty years makes no difference. I'm a guitar lover but have no musical ability what so ever. Can you imagine being on stage with those two blasting out those improvised guitar riffs? If you ever connect with him again, tell him that bass solo is an all time great.

  • @Gunstar1701 Write him at Facebook. He will be thrilled to know people are talking about his bass solo from 1980. Who listens to sidemen ? We do.

  • i'm a metalhead i love this song man fucking kicked ass.. i'm a kid in a backseat jamming again lol

  • Come on Linda!!! will you PLEASE PLEASE tour again and it would be even more amazing if you included henley, leadon, andrew gold talk about tight band my god

  • I loved that version when I saw it on HBO back in 80. Like B86 I watched every time it aired. Thanks for bringing it to You Tube.

  • 2:37-Bass player get funky!!!!

  • I prefer Linda when she looked like a hippie chick...but the Cindy Williams look is still cute as hell.

  • I know what you mean, NonStop, but it's like what flavor of delicious do you want? And she can sing too. Maybe even cook.

  • HAHA It seems lika Linda just wanna go home (3:07).

  • Excellent!

  • WOW .. thx

  • Kootch is in fine form, huh?

  • note the difference between live songs extended & album cuts

    LINDA ROCKS

  • Just love the spunky sass at 2:04..."Forget about 'cha baby 'cause I'm leavin' this day!"

  • One of the greatest pure singers ever, and that band's not too bad either. Great memories from '80 when HBO had this on, and watched it every time it aired. Now that you've got me good & spoiled, please post the whole show...that would be tremendous!

  • fix the sound, and yo gots yoself a friggin CLASSIC

  • Hulk Hogan on the Drums

  • oh!!!! thats so funny...............

  • A+A+A+A+

  • yep i have got it bad..im in love ...

  • wow what a honey..

  • Wilson sisters wannabees? Boston calling. TAKE TOUR MEDS. I agree with

the assertion of today's music however.

  • Best female vocalist. Better then the wilson sisters and all the wantabes of today. This is fricken music!!! It's too bad she stop singing rock. The band also so kicks. Music of today is noooooo good.

  • AWESOME!!! I have a cassette (yes, I said cassette it's THAT old)of a radio broadcast of this concert. Where can I get a copy of this. Beautiful posting. THANK YOU.

  • If Linda says you're no good, you can BE SURE that YOU are NO GOOD, lol. Luv Linda and every syllable she pours into the microphone.

  • LOL, Damn Funny

  • "im gonna say it again" linda is awesome! those vocals so soulful and bluesy!

  • Well I'll tell you this is one of the better versions of this song I have heard over the years - I love this extended version with guitar solo - just excellent!

  • Back then everyone in the band had to be a good musician; no one is being carried by the others, including the singer.

  • LINDA RONSTADT with short hair. Many female singers cut their hair in the 1980's to look current and upto date. I prefer her long flowing 1970's hair.

  • Son, That white boy on the bass is flyin' high

  • This live version of the classic

    YOU'RE NO GOOD

    Betty Everett & Linda Rondstadt)

    rocks!

  • Notice on these '80 Mad Love tour performances, she's much better on the new tunes (Cost of Love, Mad Love, Lies, How Do I Make You), then she is on her older, better known hits.

  • Drummer totally missing the ride cymbal all the way through the song.

  • Compare this version with the Atlanta 1977 performance. I think you'll like that one better.

  • Linda rocks!! thanks for posting this excellent vid!!

  • Glad I wasn't there.... Nothing else would have mattered......EVER!!!

  • Damn - she drives me crazy!

  • Thanks for uploading this. She sounds better in all the live versions of this song I've heard than in the studio version. The mark of a truly great singer. I'd love to see version of this uploaded with better sound quality.

  • Yeah, she could be a bit boring in concert back then sometimes....but I never minded much. She's a pure singer, not a "showy-entertainer" or theatrical-rock performer.

  • I agree! Discovering this beautiful artist so lately ( I should have listened to her in the '70s: watch these great unknowned musicians in the clip) reminds me to tell the people I love to do anything to love their own life.

  • She sounds great but she's boring in concert. At least she was when I saw her around 1980.

  • She's so sexy. No one can sing it like Linda.

  • she needs sherlie and clydie here to liven up the stage...

  • Excellent concert '80 need to see this more or full concert if possibility pls upload big thx.
