i'm not a fan of jason mraz but when i heard this song over an FM station here in the philippines... i went gagah over the song and i didn't know who the singer was at that time... now i saw this video and i'm looking forward to buying his album...
my sister's old roommate is a huge jason mraz fan and had this song on a limited edition cd or i guess it was an ep since it only had a few songs on it.
i can remember us dancing back to the song back in august 2005. it was so weird hearing it on the radio early last year... i kept thinking why are they playing a random old jason mraz song? it wasn't until a few weeks later i realized he put it on his new album.
you can't compare Jason and Matthew, they have 2 different professions, i could say that Jason is better at singing, but i could say that Matthew's better at acting than Jason,
he over produces it. The wonder of the song is that it sounds so good in very plain vanilla. Every drop of spice he adds just detracts.
This version starts out nice, but then starts to go down hill as he adds too much in the way of flourishes. Other versions he does get more annoying. I can't really blame him. Imagine if you had to do the same song over and over and over. Eventually you just have to mess with it.
that is a good point, I'm sure when you play it 1000000 times you need to change it to try to be original still, although it seems somewhat cheesy to embellish too much, although he can do those little fills like none other, it just seems a little arrogant the way it comes off to me for some reason.

Three kind of nerdy guys who you know come out and do the song. You've going to say "damn that was cool" especially when the percussionist jumps in about a third of the way through. I find music played by real people in a small setting without all the trappings to be moving, perhaps because I play music, not that well.
I like lastingmemoriesmusic cover because: imagine the song has not yet been written. two geeky, maybe gay, friends invite you into their dorm room to listen to a song that they are writing. he over produces it. The wonder of the song is that it sounds so good in very plain vanilla. Every drop of spice he adds just detracts.
This version starts out nice, but then starts to go down hill as he adds too much in the way of flourishes. Other versions he does get more annoying. I can't really blame him. Imagine if you had to do the same song over and over and over. Eventually you just have to mess with it.

that is a good point, I'm sure when you play it 1000000 times you need to change it to try to be original still, although it seems somewhat cheesy to embellish too much, although he can do those little fills like none other, it just seems a little arrogant the way it comes off to me for some reason.

obviously saying he sucks is an exaggeration designed to ruffle feathers, but I'm glad a couple of you see my point.
It is like the hat. Does that hat make Jason Mraz a better singer, does it make you say "what a cool guy", or "he's so real"; or does it make you say "oh pleeeeze." The hat is to Jason, like Jason is to "I'm Yours." :)

various ones found in the "related videos" to the right. Some are poor, some are sweet, some very. It is astounding how accessible the song is to amateurs. I like Happy Slip just because I like HappySlip. She is actually how I found the song. I'll list a couple more below and why.

I like dvjph because: imagine you are not at a professional concert, but st your high school talent show. You have never heard the song before. Three kind of nerdy guys who you know come out and do the song. You've going to say "damn that was cool" especially when the percussionist jumps in about a third of the way through. I find music played by real people in a small setting without all the trappings to be moving, perhaps because I play music, not that well.
