I am a resident of CT and will vote for Schiff in the primaries and have joined his campaign, but it really doesn't look good for him right now. Finance was not my forte, but my vocabulary has increased as a result of this crisis. My understanding is that there are STILL several things like the Enron Loophole and the Patriot Act. among others that are pretty much designed to take the regular folks down. I don't see support for infastructure that provides necessary services to the people. My state, as are others, is in a huge budget crunch. Now that a lot of our money has been wiped out, do u think cutting more services is the answer?

Peter Schiff is polling at less than 1% in the Republican primaries in CT. Dodd is actually winning re-election right now against Rob Simmons, believe it or not. I am a resident of CT and will vote for Schiff in the primaries and have joined his campaign, but it really doesn't look good for him right now. No way would CT ever vote for a Republican, unfortunately. I'm trying to be optimistic, but it doesn't look good right now.

On top of that, one Russian missile can carry ten warheads, that would mean 10 missiles that we would have to launch for every one of theirs. The cost has ballooned to many times the original estimated budget and is a boondogle for defense contractors, nothing more. The Russians do care, because it reignites an arms race. We have to build enough missiles to take on their warheads, and they would have to build more missiles to counter that, etc., etc., etc.

Finance was not my forte, but my vocabulary has increased as a result of this crisis. My understanding is that there are STILL several things like the Enron Loophole and the Patriot Act. among others that are pretty much designed to take the regular folks down. I don't see support for infastructure that provides necessary services to the people. My state, as are others, is in a huge budget crunch. Now that a lot of our money has been wiped out, do u think cutting more services is the answer?

Peter Schiff, you have my support. It's like losing $1000 per day in blackjack only to have a backer lend you $900 each day in hopes you can make it back. But when the favors aren't against you, in the end it is a losing equation. You have to cut the backer, and stop gambling and pick up a real job. This means that Americans will have to lose the ego, realize the hard and nasty truth, which will ultimately shrink our economy. Sad, but there is no magic formula to get out of this mess.

I've read about the missile defence system.
It seems its absolutely pointless, just government getting into bed with defence contractors in the name of securty.
The reasons?
1) Actual tests with the system show it has a massive failure rate to protect incoming missiles.
2) Even when the system did know where and when missles was coming, it still failed numerously to destroy them.
3) Simply painting missiles white will mean the system will not detect them.

robust system? 80% fail rate 400% "cost overruns" the system wasnt wanted by the polish. the story is more about fake lazy white war for entertainment types saying a liberal pres is bending over to the big bad foreign enemy , i knew this would happen. if mccain stopped the system you would have praised him.

The problem with Schiff is that his basic premise behind running his campaign is "appealing to people's logic".
Isn't it clear by now that people vote based on their perceived self interest...like "free" health care, et al
I love Peter...but he's gonna get stomped in the primaries. Too many sheeple out there to move the paradigm...even at the local level.
Let it all implode Peter...then your clients can come back into the US market when everything is cheap and they can help rebuild.

If the republican party is smart, they will nominate Schiff based purely on his message. It is the true American message that people are behind. Anyone who cant understand what he is talking about, needs to evaluate their thought process.

I agree with you MasterZug, however, you can see even on youtube, people cannot seem to get outside the 2 party system. I wish there was a viable independant party, but I also think that Schiff is a true conservative vs. the so-called republicans currently serving. The 2 party system is fine in terms of debate and formation of legislation, the problem is the people in the parties right now

Peter is a long term player. SOME, not all of his investments lost money in ONE YEAR.! However if youveen listening to the rest saying buy financials, houses are sound youve lost money for many years. Greenspan, bernanke etc have been wrong for over 20 years.
