Max blamed Milton Friedman for this?! That's outrageous! Milton Friedman layed out a plan for dissolving the Federal Reserve system with little turmoil.

This crisis was precipitated by Bill Clinton signing the repeal of Glass-Steagall. Of course, it was Phil Graham (R) who started this. However, if only the right wingers are to blame, then are we to believe that Clinton is a right winger?

These people are helping the banks by making it a political issue, instead of a corruption issue.

They both did. Friedman did a series on CBS explaining the Fed and its purposes. However, it was only an explanation, not an endorsement.

He laid out a plan to nationalize the money supply by converting federal reserve notes into treasury notes over an 18 month period. The functions of the Fed would thereby be nationalized.

Glass-Steagall was repealed by

Republican majorities in the Congress and in the Senate, then signed into law by Bill Clinton.

The repeal never would have happened without the Republican majorities.

In 1999, 205 republicans voted for the repeal, and 138 democrats voted for it as well. It was signed by a democtatic president.
