  • i always meet the mean ones

  • Sounded like me when I was a kid. :\

  • -.- I swear I have either this or ADD.

Just one of the billions of examples is that when I looked at the comments, half of them were referring to things I didn't even know were in the video, zoned out AGAIN... what the hell is wrong with me.

  • Please sign this petition for ADD students rights: on thepetitionsite. Go to care2 website and type adhd in the search box. Click on second link (Schools, Adopt ADHD Training..) , THANK YOU

  • medication works but then it doesn't. If you're cool being strung out then pop pills who cares. If you want to fix yourself in the long run then it'll take time to grow and learn life's lessons.

  • @Frenchcanadian100 Well done! I live in the UK, and have found that teaching sinple meditation and energy focussing techniques can very quickly help a teenager modify their behaviour, and make them feel much better about themselves. It also puts the control of their life into their own hands, which is far better than relying on others (parents, teachers or doctors) constantly doing things to or for them.

  • I have ADD and I don’t think it matters that he… ooh a cat.

  • @Chirsty76 that sounds as though it may fall under the autism umbrella

  • I have ADHD, but my parents never wanted to medicate me (and they're doctors) and I had to learn to control myself, concentrate and learn. We worked very hard and now O am very good in school and it only sometimes bothers me (I forgot do to a question in my last exam!). Parents medicating your kids is the easy way, but in the end everyone should learn to work out their problems without this! Not giving your child medication is the best gift you can give!

  • Their is no such thing as ADHD! Just a bunch of people that doesn't have self control or manners. Stop poisoning our kids with meds that turning our kids into zombies.

  • "His first grade teacher told me that he was acting like a six year old boy."

"He was clearly ADHD - I was relieved because that meant that I didn't have to take responsibility for raising and disciplining him and could just drug him up so that he wouldn't be so much trouble."

You people medicating your kids for acting like kids make me sick.

  • "Then, as I continued to research, I found the Feingold Association. As I read their website, and the success stories of people who have used the program, I was stunned.... Every single one of Sophie’s symptoms could be explained by one word – petroleum. Sophie didn’t have ADHD, she had a chemical sensitivity to all the artificial ingredients in her food!" ourfamilyeatsdotcom

  • I wonder if severe ignorance can be considered a disorder.

  • How the hell does a 7 year old have ADHD, wasn't he colouring in properly?

  • @crewcool me too

  • i have adhd :)

  • there are no slow lerners. only slow teachers.

  • My son is 4.5 yrs old.You can tell he has adhd.I'm taking him to a baby doctor soon to see why he acts like he does.He soes sum weird things. He has this thing he does with his hands. He twitches his hands alot when he gets excited or is jumping around. We don't take him to many places either. He's all over the place so much that we don't take him out much.My parents blame me for him acting this way. He's spoiled they said.He is,but I never seen a spoiled kid act like him. He's not normal,u can tell.

  • My whole family has ADHD.

  • Hmmm..seems to me that most kids that age are adhd..very sad.

  • @soniyamystical It's not really that "age" that they have it, it is that age where they are diagnosed. Children can properly be diagnosed around the first grade when theacher's can monitor there attention span during school studies.

  • Wow that sounds like me. My son and I have ADHD

  • i have it at one point it was like war u go in a dumb ass and come out a hardned vet i got to the point kids picked on me i cried said why cant i be normal till i said u no what forget u i dont care cuz im me u dont like me move to cannada lol but if it hadnt been for it i wouldnt be were i am now 9th grade i no tons becuase of it and met life changeing people and teachers some in wich will help my future carrer so it cool u just got to learn to cope with it

  • @zrectnat Good for you! This is a challenge I'm sure, but everyone in your life I'm sure supports you and you seem to be a very strong person capable of many great things!

  • @JNJhealth I thinks it awesome that you speak out on this but yeah check my blog out, it could be very helpful

  • want to know the truth just ask me

  • the stimulant ritalin or other of its forms is popular as a street drug because of its weight loss. for those with ADD however, the ritalin or one of its forms is important for those with ADD to take in order to settle the symptoms down, so the child can focus and learn at school.

  • some may say this has wonderful side effects, i would say to them, those who exel and achieve do so DESPITE the condition being present. this condition is DEVASTATING socially and there is nothing good about it per se.

a very small amount of people may be allergic to food dyes and may benefit from avoiding them, but in general there is not going to be big benefits from avoiding the food dyes.

  • as there are several networks of the brain, so are there several forms of this condition.

not only is there the well-known form that presents with advanced motor skills development, there is also a form of this condition that the day-dreamer fits into, the inattentive form.

ADD or ADHD is the most prevalent developmental genetic condition on earth. some countries are not so concerned with seeking out and treating this condition, but it still presents itself in every population nonetheless.

  • When some people find out they have ADD/ADHD, they often use it as a crutch, blaming everything they do on the diagnosis. But ADD/ADHD is over diagnosed. I'm slightly skeptical as to ADD/ADHD being considered a valid disease. If the symptoms of this "disease" blend in with the personality traits of a normal person, is it really a disease?

  • @b1346 disease sounds more of a bad thing. i take it as step in evolution. believe it or not, studies have shown people with ADHD/ADD are smarter than the average person. as for the evolution explaination; it seems the percentage of people with ADHD/ADD is growing. another fact; they have diagnosed ADHD/ADD as a mild form of autism. if you'd like to know more, i'd recommend Dr. V. J. Monastra

  • @b1346

It definitely is a real disorder, if the reason that you doubt it's existence is because it's symptoms merge with some every-day problems people have, do you believe in anxiety disorders? obsessive-compulsive disorders?

  • im not hyper but i have add

  • no cure, learn to live with. find ur own way!

  • just a boy!

  • i have ADHD and idk wats wrng wit it...i always the hyper one but i was the smartest because they try top test me for autism...ADHD is good for me =D

  • rick- i think you mean ritalin, and yes, it is an amphetamine but it works well on ADHD patients by improving concentration. Also the "dose" varies (not the dows!)

Love your comment, are you dyslexic or do you just have your own way of spelling?

  • @sarahindigo As a mother of a child that struggles with ADHD, I appreciate your comment.

  • adhd isnt real the u.s is the only country to have it in ther medical records . in fact if u really wont to screw ur kid up put them on readolean it has the same stuff in it as meth just a lower dows . its all in the mind . have u ever heard mind over matter lo

  • @rickfriar I am a mother of 5 and my youngest has ADHD and would be hurt that someone like you would say that she is full of it. Your words are hurtful. I forgive you but as a mother of a child thany SPECIALISTS and is a mother for 23 years, I ask you to not blurt without checking with your heart first. God Bless.

  • @rickfriar wrong wrong ADD was discovered in 1910 maybe earlyer and it was not found out by an american

i was diagnosed as aspie and ADD in 1969 when i was 6 so its not new i just use the gifts and not dwell on the negative ...jeff...tnx

  • @rickfriar wrong, wrong, its been known about as far back as the 1900,s i am deeply intersted in psychology

and i my self am aspie and looking at my own medical history i would say had this as well.

as far as this boys hightened knowledge with the other kid in the car that is a gift common in the autisic community i am very like this young boy...jeff...48

  • As a lot of other people i sometimes love having adhd im 12 and have failed once mabye twice if i dont pull this together i am very smart! very! i am the smartest in my cloass and out our comprehension test i tested higher than the kids in ap! i scored 1262 and most kids in ap only got 800-900 but my friend tucker in ap got nearly the same as me and he has adhd and i come up with alot better ideas and i am alot more creative than other kids and i see as i am maturing i am less hyper

  • The whole ADHD thing is just stupid. I was diagnosed when I was 7, as a result of my 3rd grade teacher wanting my to take a test for it. She was just too lazy to cope with a little boy being himself and called it a disease so she could drug me into a stupor. Fortunately, though, my mom said no. I swear I am exactly like this kid: intelligent, intuitive, eloquent, freakin' amazing at legos. I just think it is a real shame to snuff children's creativity with mind-altering drugs.

  • I can honestly say I love having adhd, I mean, not when it comes to academics, or the pill, but I'm just always happy and thinking outside of the box. I will say that the pill is one of the worst thing, it practically sucks the energy out of me and makes me a zombie. I never want to laugh, have conversations, and its like it makes me numb, like I'm out of focus of the real world. And yes, I have tried different medications countless times, but I feel the same on all of them.

  • the woman passed it to her son

  • could you please tell me the name of the test he was given in first grade?

  • interesting video

  • The problem with ADHD is not the distractions or hyperactivity, but the lack of accomodations.

I see 8 year old kids who get gym, art, and music, only once a week, and no outdoor recess. They have to have recess in the classroom. So in other words, they get no "playtime."

Also, you can't expect any kid (ADHD or not) to just "sit still" and "be quiet."

I hear people complain about kids being "wild" and they're really just active and energetic, but have nowhere to put it.

  • hahaha wow really? come on... i have adhd, i mean not like severe but i take 20 mg of aderall in the morning and 10 in the afternoon... So many people I know just like normal high school people like myself have ADD and need medicine to keep focus. I'd say maybe 15% of people I know. It's not a "horrible disease" no need to make a stupid documentation

  • i have a adhd and im a hyper. im so hyper i have to wear a patch on my skin to calm me down

  • @geocachewilldeb Don't worry you are who you are I don't have adhd but I can relate to my own issues I have autism it's not from my parents genes or I was born I was injected by it and I hated it but since Temple Grandin had it I realized that I have to accept myself no matter what!!!!!

  • i have adhd its nothing they are acting like hes about to die

  • @geocachewilldeb yh ik idk y they hav ti make a big deal out of it... i hav adhd but its not bad since i can be quiet sometimes.. but its not like the kid is sying of cancer o_0. dramaaa queenssss :/

  • My brother has this terrible disease!

We need to find a cure!

  • @thegeekproductions ADHD isn't a disease, it's a disability. Put it this way: Being bound to a wheelchair after a leg amputation is extremely disabling. For example your home isn't modified so that you can reach counters, cook for yourself, access the bathroom, get outside without being able to walk on stairs, through doors, getting on a bus, getting into a shop to buy necessities, needing help for reaching, reading signs... just imagine. Receive prosthetics? Less disabled. But still legless.

  • I was recently diagnosed with ADD, but my mom wont let me take the medicine beccause she thinks it will have bad side affects later on in my life. Does anyone else sgree?

  • i have adhd. i hate how i make things so difficult when they really are not. im always upset and irritable over things. and i get angry very easy. however, i have a mood disorder so this affects it. my moods are more of the issue, rather than the adhd part.

  • adhd is good for parkour with the energy. i should know.

  • I just got the ADD wow so rare lol i have like 5+ friends with ADHD

  • I Have ADHD And i jump from chair to chair at school u dont want to see my grades jk

  • hyperactivity, to much adrenaline in their blood stream. overactive brain activity.

in the animal kingdom, the animal offspring when they mature will challange their leader in an agressive hyperactive way. we humans try to move away from beeing animals being humans, to be somthing else. somthin un-human. the more different we are from animals the more human we think we are. not everybody have such self discipline and control as the rest of us.

  • Pleas ignor peolpe Like "Orasis". Commints like that are miss informed. AD/HD is REAL! And so is Dyslexia. Peolpe like this don't undrstand this becoes they havent exsperinsed it the way peolpe like you and I have. Thare for desied it is not real...

My commint is simply that Dyslexia goes hand in hand with AD/HD. If your son is AD/HD I would recimind a test for Dyslexia. Evein if his reading for now seems fine if he has a mild case of it you need the papers in hand.

  • @DSKTJewl dyslexia is real, adhd is real, but its very, VERY rare. the vast majority of kids on drugs dont actually have it, its just as orasis said, "the kids hyper, put him on drugs!"

  • Wow, a kid that doesn't pay attention? Put him on drugs!

"I was not hyper" --Um, lady, girls are NOT boys. Boys are usually more hyper than little girls, it's NATURAL.

  • @orasis okay...i have ADHD 2 but drugs really? i dont concentratrate much cause when i am in math im thinkin bout somethin else like daydreamin the teacher is a super hero lol. but drugs hell no

  • @orasis I know this is a little late... but I'm a girl... I'm hyper as hell.... I have adhd. It's real.

  • I think it's funny how the media perpetrates ADHDas a disease such as cancer.

ADHD is a disorder, or a dysfunction in the brain.

  • can anyone remember when children were just naughty?

diagnosing a child with ADHD is about as forward thinking as saying it's been possessed by satan

  • @al3699 Look, ADHD has three subtypes:

Predominantly hyperactive-impulsive, Predominantly inattentive, and Combined hyperactive-impulsive and inattentive. Most children with ADHD have the combined type. So he has Predominantly hyperactive-impulsive. The reason why I know this is because I have ADHD, myself.

  • white people would you stop trying to label anything a litle out of the ordinary behavior as a disease.

ps your doing this so you can push rx medicine on to the people and keep weed down.

ps im not black or asian im Mexican

  • @christianz2010 ADHA is a real diagnosis

  • how do you monitor energy levels? Sounds ridiculous to me.

  • @Mr4Jesus It's not just energy levels. We've been studying this a lot lately in my psychology classes. Most of the time their thought processes go from one to the next quicker than they want them to, and quicker than they can control. ADHD is when their mind goes quicker than they can keep up with as well as their body.

  • The flipping upside down in the chair sound like sensory processing issues that are often misdiagnosed as ADHD.

  • @brandygbarnes yes that does sound like SPD issues with the heater being to loud and the chair thing! my daughter doesnt like loud noises and sertian textures and does have some SPD Issues. she also has Dyspraxia and Aperxia.

  • OMG have you ever watched CNN? YOU HAVE TO HAVE ADHD JUST TO KEEP UP WITH ALL THE DIFFERENT THINGS THAT ARE GOING ON. i don't think that adhd is a disorder on the contrary i think its an evolution caused by the fast paced world that we are forced to live in. you didn't see anything about adhd 50 years ago because the world wasn't moving this fast 50 years ago. these kids are just born to be able to keep pace. so maybe they aren't going to fast. maybe everyone else is just too slow.

  • I don't believe in ADHD. Not everyone is the same. I'd be willing to bet a so-called ADHD person could pay attention to what he wanted to do to fulfill his goals, and not the goals the world telling him. And I'd be willing to bet he could learn to sit down, shut up, take a number and study when he really needs too. You gotta teach him/her that.

  • @shumanitutonkaowachi To sit still, to talk when he has to or concentrate, may look easy thing to do for somebody who hasn't got ADHD. The condition exists and although it can be controlled, children suffering from that must put the double of effort to achieve things in life...it would be easier for them and their families if people would accept it , instead of deny it.

  • @shumanitutonkaowachi there is. trust me

  • @shumanitutonkaowachi I think it's hard to understand any disease, condition or situation unless you've experienced it first-hand or you're a product of it. I have A.D.D. and I'll NEVER be proud of it. I'm 40 and I've had more jobs than I can count on fingers and toes. I've also been fat my whole life and have heard people say "I don't understand why you're fat but you keep eating- what's wrong with you?" The answer is obvious- It's far too easy to judge when You don't understand.

  • I have ADHD, it is real. And it takes effort to conrtol. I am excelling in achademics and sports, i am proud to have ADHD. Many great american leaders had it, its not always a negative thing.

  • I always got good grades in School. Although, I most always got introuble. In Elementary, I've been suspended. I was one detention away from Expulsion. I have ADHD. I'm 12. Now I'm in Jr. High, I'm better. Although, I have got introuble once or twice. Only for talking.

  • My son is on Concerta, he has neve taken pills and is scared of taking them, i tried tricks but it dosenot work. What can i do?

  • @mfrausto76 i was told all through my childhoood that i had add, but my parents insisted i was ok, and that my dad got through it on his own, and didnt need any meds. Also seeing as this diagnosis requires no scientific evidence (chemical levels and whatnot), i am not sure it is actually a disorder, but thats another debate. The point, I didnt need meds, and I find medication will only enforce his belief that there is something wrong with him. I know it's hard, but work without pills

  • @Narth969 Some people have more severe ADHD than others. You can deal with it on your own. Some people can't. Once you've tried everything, and it doesn't work, your forced to go to meds unless you want your life screwed up.

  • @Narth969 i was also told this and my parents also insusted i dont have it, but i still need medication, but i never use it. i still see things that arnt there or when someone sees a pole i think of it as a sword or something. and is it true if you dont get it treated my life willbe screwed up?

  • @Zizumia3 hey mate, i was diagnosed ADHD as a child, im NOT on medication, however i still have to manage it, i tak Omega 3 tablets (fish oil) which seems to help, but research in that area is inconclusive. mainly i just manage what i am eating.... general rule of thumb, if it tastes good, has preservativs etc.. dont eat it. can make for a bland diet, but it seems to help

  • the criteria to find it in children may be faulty but it is real without a doubt. Ive experienced the troubles with it my entire life but im happy to say that due to modern medicine, i have near optimum control over my self. the symptoms are subtle to an outsider and the person may come across as just "spacey" or a daydreamer but the person living with it knows that his tendency to these characteristics is uncontrollable. In other words, unless you have a doctorate in the area, stfu.

  • I am not blaming the mom, but his teacher..I have..some metal problems too I doolled back in class too..but how stayed forces if not i WOULDNT have retained ant suff was taught to me when my teachers whined at me saying am not paying atteion..

  • Try "Schizophrenia: Living in Hell" or "Major Depressive Disorder: Death of Mind, Body and Soul". Then you know you have some real f*cking problems. I WISH that was my only problem. I'd trade my depression for the worst ADHD in the world in order to be free from this awful, painful existence. I doubt hyperactivity and not being able to focus has resulted in suicide save only a handful of cases. Using the diagnostic criteria psychiatrists use today, you could easily label all children as ADHD.

  • @bgrimes8533 precisely

  • i think i have ADD

  • I found out that I had ADHD when I was 17, 15 years ago. I didn't really pay attention over the last 15 years that my life has been severely impacted by the symptoms. Over 4 years ago I have been doing a lot of research into the disorder to help myself. I have learned a lot of great information that I share with the world so they can learn too.

  • i have adhd and my parents say that means that u get hyper but i think what it means on the video

  • It is way more than just being hyper. You can be hyper and not have ADHD, and... you can have ADHD and not be hyperactive.

    :-)

  • @davinaperl haha not really, seeing as its Attention Deficit HYPERACTIVITY Disorder... unless you just mean ADD

  • ADHD and ADD are made up

  • Learn your facts

  • no its real

  • @Perfectserious no there not cause i got add/adhd

  • @Perfectserious NO IT ISN'T!

  • @Perfectserious no it is not i have add and adhd and it is verry hard to deal with PLEAS DONT SPEACK ON THIS TOPIC IF U DONT HAVE IT A WHOLE

  • i just felt i needed to say something because, families dealing with this go through enough already. we do not need others saying that it is due to parenting or that its a fake disorder. unless you have gone through it you have no idea. the only issue i have is parents that think meds are gonna fix the problem..not so. it takes therapy, and open communication with teachers. this approach is what helped my son. we are his support team. together we can achieve so much. we have been blessed.

  • @sachalhernandez Agreed! I understand that some peoples issues may be considered more server but the in NO way gives a person the right to put other people down. One of my close friends has ADD and I can tell you that it has made her life hell. Shes 17 jummping from house to house because no one, including her parents, wants to deal with her with her disorder. Do not judge if you have not been through it with close family, friends or better yet yourself.

  • for anyone who says adhd is not real....shut your mouth!!! my son was diagnosed at 3. he has adhd oppositional defiant disorder and ocd. you have no idea of what we have been through. at age 3 he was so fustrated he turned my bed upside down box springs and all. you could never understand the nights i have cryed myself to sleep asking god why my son. my son is now 7 and in the gifted program. he has had amazing teachers who have helped him so much. today we embrace his adhd and his creativity

  • @sachalhernandez Just because someone hasn't walked in your shoes doesn't mean they can't have a very good understanding of what a family goes through when a child has a behavioral disorder.

  • i have adhd i find it really hard in skool and when i was in year 1 i got kicked outta skool

    lol

  • ok that mohawk person is really ticking me off!some people think they know bout adhd and they dont even have it!us kids can focus fine on tv cuz its fun but in class were its boring im all over the place.i cant help it. punishment wont help ITS A FREAKIN ILLNESS!when ur kid is sick u dont just punish them and expect them to be better! dont say stuff about adhd unless uve had it and know what its like!kayyy!

  • There is a difference between psychological disorder and an illness. Children with ADHD are not sick.

  • ok that mohawk person is really ticking me off!some people act like they know al about it and they dont even have it!they dont know what its like!i can focus on tv cuz its fun but in class where its boring i am outta control.punishment wont help it!its a freakin illness ! when ur kid gets sick u dont just punish them an expect them to stop being sick! so dont be sayin stuff bout adhd unless u have it or have gone through it and actually know what its like!kayyy!

  • he sounds like me

  • ADHD is extremely over diagnosed. How can i child run rampant through the house and classroom and be uncontrolable but sit infront of the tv for hours and play his/her video games? How come this wasnt a problem when i was a child? Its because discipline is no longer in use in the home and classroom. If i child acts up they are diagnosed rather than disciplned. Given a pill rather than a punishment. I am a teacher and todays children are nothing like yester years. Its a sad situation.

  • its underdiagnosed. there were as many kids back then with adhd. but the kids who had to live with it back then didnt have any help. it was passed off the same way you pass it off. bad behavior is not adhd. adhd is a higher than average level of impulsivity and inattention. the kid can watch tv because it is stimulating, therefore they dont move away from the stimulation. adhd kids seek stimulation dont bring your own opinions about adhd into the classroom. you do those kids more harm that way.

  • thank you so much for posting that comment. i have adhd and you are absolutely right. the misconception that it is just 'bad behavior' and was never a problem before is completely ignorant and people who say that are clearly misinformed.

  • i agree

  • totally true

  • and saying its a lack of discipline is a cop out used by those who want to pass it off. its infuriating how people are so staunch on arguing about adhd when they know NOTHING about its true nature. why do you all think that your opinion is right even if you never studied adhd or interacted with it? how can you claim its over diagnosed when you dont study the research? why do you bash stimulant medication so much? IT IS DESIGNED FOR PEOPLE WITH ADHD! you people represent the ignorance of society

  • i think your absolutely right!! (mohawkj99 is it normal for a teacher to chill in youtube?as much as i know teachers have a lot to do!!!!)

  • @mohawkj99 did you know that nearly all adults (especially does who dont have kids themselves) think kids are lacking disipline? :)

  • The reason they can playvideo games for hours is becasue people with ADHD can also hyperfocus. Video games have a lot of action (lights, movemt, planning, etc) and because they are so dynamic, they allow people with ADHD to gain a focus they normally lack. In fact, there have been numerous studies that shown that children who have ADHD play videogames more often and for longer periods of time then those with out the disorder.

  • The discipline you refer to has also been proven to be ineffective in the treatment of ADHD. If you compare average grade scores of the children.

  • this comment is to mohawkj99

    your comment was insulting

    i am 13 and i hav ADD

ADD is an actual disorder and it is hard to live with

go look ADD and ADHD up at google and you will find the science to this disorder....ADD and ADHD are as real as real can get

  • @911FANGS it is overdiagnosed...good luck in highschool.

  • parents tend to forget how active a child can be. Because of their daily work and obligations they want their children to behave like them. I have seen "ADHD" children grow up and now they study at an university.

  • are you implying adhd isnt real?

  • and I study ADHD at a university. I also have ADHD and I will always have it.

  • I have studied at a university and am currently in grad school and i still have adhd. it does not go away. no one ever said that a persom diagnosed with adhd could not attend college or do well in school. adhd has nothing to do with intellience, it has to do with the ability to contol attentiveness, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. these are all things i struggle with on a daily basis.

  • I think people just tend to say they have either this or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder because there seems to be this notion that people who have it are better than others.

  • @Nonsaneness i know exactly what you mean, although i have both of those conditions. But I do see what you mean.

  • ADHD is not fake, however I do believe it is overly diagnosed, when it's not the case. My 6 yr old, has a textbook case of it. But my friend's daughter was diagnosed with it, and we (my friend and I) don't believe so. She's animated yes, bad behavior, impulsive, no. And they wanted to put her on meds! So I think people should go through neurolody to be diagnosed, they are thorough with blood tests and EEG's to make sure it's not something anomolous that causes it.

  • the research shows that it is underdiagnosed.

  • it is under diagnosed

  • ADD/ADHD is not fake. It can be caused by Aspertame (diet-sodas/drinks) and other chemical sweeteners. It's usually caused when the mother injests these things in moderate to large quantities during pregnancy and can also be exacerbated by lack of green, leafy veggies and vibrant colored veggies in a child's diet.

  • of course it aint fake, but do u really think the things u eat has anything to do with these disorders? i dont think so.. i might be wrong but has anyone proven that?

  • were supposed to have adhd as kids

being able to sit still for hours as children..that should not be normal

but is a way school cant go wrong a way that public schhol must be mandatory it ppl realize that were just kids n shouldnt be in there then ppl could protest against school which lead to other things but now it they say its a disorder everything is in check

  • To the persone how said ADHD IS FAKE!

I believe you are fake i wonder how much you know about ADHD I have it my self and i know That ADHD is Not fake Is it a problem but alsow a kind off gift!!

  • Is the gift you're talking about, your inability to make good arguments?

  • this comment is to SuLLyZorZ

ADHD is a disorder but truly it does have some gifts that come a long with it

    look it up on google

    i find your comment insulting

    i hav ADD

  • Want to know how people with ADHD think?

    Well check out my video!

  • ADHD IS FAKE

  • no ADHD is not fake

    look. it. up. on. google.

    ask yer doctor about it

there is so much proof to prove that there is such thing to ADHD

  • wow the paintings thing thats me all the way I have add and I can relate to that I can never finish any drawing painting portrait anything

  • Having ADD or ADHD can be a blessing and not a problem. The scientist call it an "imbalance" of the brain chemistry.., But then again, science always tries to find a "logical" answer for everything. And maybe they are right as far as the physical aspect of this condition. Did you ever stop and think that maybe you son is different because he SHOULD BE?? Dont medicate the kid. Look up: Indigo children (find serious sources please and try to be open minded. Dont see this as something "spiritual"

  • I read "The Indigo Child", actually, or whatever the title is. We have been open minded... we do consider ADHD a gift. He is more successful and happy on the meds. That was a difficult decision for us to make. We tried the homeopathic route. Didn't work. Brad has "Indego" qualities, but that concept is a bit far fetched for me. He and I are intuitive... almost sixth sense. That's common for ADHD. We embrace it. Thanks for your thoughtful comment.

  • i agree

  • Why would you want to get him help? You should be proud he's got energy and isn't like all the other seemingly "robotic" children.

  • We got him help because he was having serious trouble with concentrating, focussing, and reading. It was really starting to affect his self esteem. He is a much happier kid now at age 12. He is successful in school, has many friends, is incredibly creative. When you see your child suffering, shouldn't you try to help him? He is now able to tap into all the gifts of ADHD without being so frustrated... gifts like "out-of-the-box" thinking, hyper focussing, being creative. He's a happy kid.

  • i agree

    u did the right thing

  • Isn't there some question as to whether ADHD is worsened by lack of specific fatty acids in the brain?

  • What is so bad about ADHD?

I have it and it cant even kill you..

  • Its the medication doctors give you. It makes you zombie-like, lose your appetite, makes you anti-social. It could have long-term affects on your life.

  • Happend to me mate :p

I really did became a zombie.. luckily I stopped with it a few years ago..

I rather be busy and receive a few comments from parents.. than be a zombie and go aaahhhhh every 2 seconds due to lack of energy :p

  • Are you on meds that give you all those side effects? If so, sounds like you are on the wrong ones. Talk with your doctor! My sons and I are all on ADHD meds and we are not zombie-like, or anti social. Quite the opposite.

  • adhd is a myth i have plus asbergers so they say, but i just like to do what i want, and kids are born rebellious and should do it

  • ADHD and Aspergers are not a myth. One of my sons has only ADHD, and my other has both ADHD and Aspergers. There are many talented wonderful creative people with both. Don't let it bring you down. Embrace the positive sides and good things can happen.

  • ADHD is not a myth

    it is an actual disorder

look it up on google and you can find the science behind it

  • i think i have adhd. i dont know. im not saying i do. im really smart, im also one of the smartest in my class, but i cant focus on stuff. i find mind wondering in class. even when i play games! it gets annoying sometimes. i try to concentrate but after a while my mind wonders. can anyone help me. i want to know if i might possibly have adhd.

  • If you really think you have it, ask your parents to have you evaluated by a doctor. Knowledge is power. Good for you for being aware of what your challenges are and trying to improve on them!

  • talk to your doctor about it

i hav ADD and i am 13 so listen to me

    i hav had experience

ADD and ADHD are the same disorder except with different symptoms

when i did tests at school before i was diagnosed with ADD i would literally take about 2 months on 1 test!!!! My parents got very concerned, so they took me to multiple doctors. Finally, I had to take an MRI. Which is when they do an x-ray of yer brain, they diagnosed me with ADD

  • i have adhd and im one of the smartest people in my class but when i was in elementary i was put on drugs so i could pay attention but i hated it it made me not want to eat and it gave me deppresion i think instead of drugs kids with adhd should just be taught differently

  • I have ADHD and on medicine and everything, but it's still ehhhh.

    I don't see it as a disease.

I see it as a personality quirky. ^_^

  • of course its not a disease my friend, dont you think that, it will stop by time and its perfectly normal ;)

  • yeah

ADD and ADHD is not a mental illness or disease

    it's a disorder

  • If the light's flickering, have it changed; heater noisy, get it fixed. Or maybe change rooms. But get tested??

There are holes all over the ADHD theory. Most evident from this video is this comment:

... 'is he distractable... does he distract other children...'

Just think about that for a moment...

  • I LOVE HAVING ADHD

  • i would hate to have this.

  • having ADHD has it's ups and downs

  • I have it to

  • ADHD should not be thought of as a "disorder" it is a condition with positive ramifications. Yourself or loved one is increadibly talented and we must recognize this. There is too much emphasis on how we can't function. We must realize the amazing amount of talent given to us. Living with it can be hard but the upsides are worth with. I have it and I know this for a fact.

  • I think this country is getting trigger happy with diagnosis people of all ages who do not act the way people want them to are diagnosed with something and then given all kinds of medication to make them "feel" and act better words are powerful if told something enough times you will start to believe it or believe it about yourself even if what was said is not true this is a sad epidemic in the U.S.A.

  • Agreed 100%.

  • It would be nice if they didnt treat ADHD like it was a birth defect. I have ADHD, and im perfectly fine, all I do is simply move my feet alot when sitting down.

  • I suggest that you go to the many websites that address this, like CHADD.

  • what does ADD do?

  • i think it means the same as adhd except ur not hyper.
