  • It's good to know that the intro video renders properly? Ridiculously pointless.

  • Please answer as quick as possible

    I got a Macbook Pro 13" i7 4GB ram and 500GB hard drive

I wanna know if Sims 3 will work or not

I don't want to waste money on something that doesn't work

Also tell me the quality of game play like if it lags or freezes etc.

  • @rasesh1234 You have the fastest machine currently available on the market of course its going to work perfectly ;D

  • @willbroadway i have intel hd 3000 and a unibody mac book pro

    will this make a difference

or will it still work perfectly

    answer as quick as possible:)

  • @rasesh1234 Yes it should work great, graphics and processor are very fast.

  • @willbroadway thank man

    you saved my life

i was gonna get it next week

The Sims is my favourite game

Peace i hope what u say comes true

  • Is this game also good on the 13" macbook air?

  • this is what i am looking for! thanks man

  • cool laptop but crapy camera....

  • i have a 13 inch i bought it 2 months ago will it wirk on mine? :)

  • @MrSamywoopyrocks That's what I'm wondering. A lot of people are having trouble, apparently, so I'm weary to install Sims 3, which I just got today.

  • will this run on the 2011 macbook 13 in? its the intel 3000 hd one

  • @kpxflameboy Yea it should be great, mine is a lot older than that now it should work well

  • @kpxflameboy I have the same comp, bought this past August and just bought Sims 3 today, but I'm weary to take it out of the box because of the problems people are having. Some people are saying to revert back to Snow Leopard to get it to work, others are saying that the graphics card in the new 13" MacBooks are the issue. I'm not really sure. I would check the community forums on The Sims 3 website to see if they've fixed the problem.

  • @SlaveToTheTheater oh i got it to work! haha. i downloaded it and it took a while in forums but got it to work fine. the graphics are good enough to play this game :). unfortunately i dont play anymore but i got it to work at one point in time haha.

  • hey :) i have on question is your mac now running slower than before ??

  • lol u looked like a pedo when sim 3 started, especially with the phone in your hand :P

  • Ok so I was thinking of getting a MacBook Pro 13" THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!! I was wondering how well it worked on the MacBook. Thank you thank you thank you!

  • Get a new camcoder or something. Your handphone is trash, fps so low.

  • does it make the mac run slower if its installed ??

  • @Gizzy59508

No, when you install an app on a Mac you aren´t executing it, only when you open it your Mac may or may not lag

  • got one question hope you can answer when i play the sims 3 it was great the first day i played but the second day every 20 mins or so it freezes any help?

  • How did you get it to work on your computer? I have a macbook pro and I keep getting the stupid disk authentication error...

  • Yes most disc's are win/mac dvd's which are good for both windows and mac, just check it on your box. You need the disc so you can have it on 2 at the same time.

  • OK Can i want a mac for christmas so i can i use my sims 3 discs for PC and mac?

  • yea you should be able to its much more powerful.

  • can i play this on an imac 21 inch? please reply

  • Can you just talk to me allll dayyy long. I love your accent. =]

  • dose it work really fast!!!! cuz my sims 3 on PC works really really slow :P :P

  • apple laptops isn´t to gamer people

  • I HATE HOW THE SIMS 3 LOGO does not apper on the desktop! but i guess it looks more moden that way!!!!!!! I LOVE MODERN!

  • lol your a fucking idiot, this is the start up video.

  • So will MacBook pro 13 run the sims 3???

  • can you download sims 3?

  • im getting my pro tottaly free from lockerz, pm ur email for a invite

  • Are you serious?!? That was a video...this video is like a test on how well a MacBook Pro can play a movie downloaded from iTunes...of course it'll be smooth! But what about the actual gameplay??

  • one question, did your mac slow down after installing sims on it? (it takes up quite a lot of space, you see)

  • @jxemc , No my mac stayed roughly the same speed surprisingly as i filled the hard drive with the sims, cod 4, NFS carbon and a load of other stuff.

  • Just wanna ask, NVIDIA GeForce 320M can run the sims 3 game well?

  • @AllureCharms Oh yea that will run great.

  • So is it good on dat computer or not? and if not which would you recamend?

  • Sims 3 doesn't really strain Pc's :P

But GTA 4 does + is it all on max settings?

  • @RyanK733 Yea all are one high but some are not highest.

  • in my macbook pro 15inch i use to 9600gt nvidia, it is a good game as well

  • do it work good?

  • My computer eats this game.

  • When are you going to post the REAL gameplay instead of all the loading?

  • Ha, Camera Phone..

  • oh god please buy a better camera

  • well if they sell a mac version of sims 3 thats prob what it is. but there are emulators just google MAC pc game simulators or ask on yahoo answers of somtin like that.

  • Can anyone tell me what is the best MAC?!

  • Mac Pro

  • well the mac pro is the best but very expensive. so for a nice desktop go imac the $1700-2000 are nice and the new macbook pro soon to be released are going to be nice as well the $200-2300 will be great. im getting the macbook pro when its released.

  • @ludaci5 Macbook Pro 2.8 ;-)

  • Thanks :)

  • sony vaio's or macs probably

  • the 27 inc imac or macpro but both are really expensive wait for the upgrades

  • Macbook 13" is same as pro, but priced best. Alluminium doesn't make that much difference for me. My dad got pro , I got white. I am software engineer and he is civil engineer. I tested both and got enough expirence with both of them. Although I agree 15 and 17" pro are better but too costly in my view. iMac isn't laptop so thats deal breaker as it doesn't fit in our lifestyle. Although if you use computer only at home iMac is best option.

  • it works on mac period there is no hack you just install it

  • why dont u use a screen recorder like ishowu

  • How Much Was This?

  • what is the spec of this loptop?

  • He Wasnt Even Playing It.

My Laptop Can Do That And It Has Sis Mirage 3

  • The sims 3 isn't even remotely demanding. A 9400 is not "immense" graphics, it's entry-level.

  • above entry the 8000 series are still a bit more than entry. the 9400 are mid lvel GRAPHIC DESIGNING chips and low mid levl game chip.

  • The 9400 isn't a graphics designing chip. That belongs to Nvidia's Quadro series, which aren't available on any Apple notebook. The 9400 is just a special version of the 9300 modified for use in the Macbook line. The 9300/9400 are both entry-level, whereas the 9600 is mid-level, and the 9800s are high-end. None of these have anything to do with graphics design (barring CUDA) - they're all consumer chips.

  • Lol. The best of computers? I play it on my factory fresh laptop on full specs with iTunes running in the background, no new graphics card or ram etc.

  • I just used the basic Nvidia 9400 graphics in it as standard in the 13" model. The 15" is much better though as it has an inbuilt extra graphics card along with the regular one making it mega fast and smooth called the Nvidia 9400GT

  • the 15" uses the 9600gt not the 9400gt

  • SCHOOLED!

  • @willbroadway Do you think it's too small? Because I'm deciding between the new 13" and 15" MacBook Pro. They've got new graphic card. But the 15" and 17" which has an Intel HD Card and a NVidia GeForce 330M GT.

  • @TheLuckAndLove definitely the 15" one

  • @TheLuckAndLove I recon you should just get the 13" its great. You dont feel the size when your using it and its great for carrying around. from most of the games that i have played i dont think that there is much need for the better graphics card but if you want it is better but a hell of a lot more.

  • @TheLuckAndLove well it depends, if you are gonna me carrying around the macbook all the time, you should get a 13 inch one, but if you are gonna leave it stationary and play games with it and you have the money for the 17'' one, you should definitely get the 17'' one, the 13'' macbook pro wont run common games very at good settings.

  • @TheLuckAndLove my mom has the 15" i have not used sims 3 on it before because shes like "it's my laptop don't screw it up! but i think it would work really gooodd. its intel core i5.

  • did that graphics card come with your mac when you first got it? or did you make modifications so that it fit the sims 3's system requirments?

'cause I'm thinking about buying the 15". but I'm not sure if the game will work. :/

  • Why yes it is a Samsung D600 haven't got a new phone in 5 years since i got this one and it even short circuits but i still think its good.

  • the recording handy looks like a samsung d600 :)

  • u not even going to play it?

  • what's about the temperature of the macbook...is it getting warm, while you playing??

  • @Fuzzylogik10 , yea mine can get up to about 35 c but it doesn't crash or anything just a little toasty on your lap.

  • @Fuzzylogik10 it depends on the graphic settings you've selected. :)

  • is the intro movie not just a movie? i mean is it rendered real time by the GPU or not?

  • are you serious?

    sims 3...

run a more intense graphics game like crysis or gta 4

  • the startup video can't be used to determine whether the game runs well or not as basically it's just a video! When you are actually playing the game is when the computer has to use it's graphics etc, then you can see if the game runs well or not.

  • Nope 2Gb

  • you didnt even get to the gameplay

  • Coolness, i just got this computer and i cant wait to get the sims 3...Thanks for posting it : )

  • sims 3 is not a very demanding game and even with my 4gb ram and 2.53GHz macbook pro it is not playable at the 15" native resolution unless you bring all the settings to "low". and even then it stutters and gets barely acceptable frame rates (around 15-23fps)

HOWEVER my 900 dollar toshiba with a discrete graphics card and 4gb of ram runs it in 1080P, maxed out settings at 25-30fps.

not saying one is better than the other, just my experience.

  • which macbook pro?

  • go back and read my comment again, i describe in detail the macbook pro I use.

  • I meant the early 2008 model or the late 2008 model. I don't remember the specs of all the macbook pros they have ever mad. But w/e it doesn't really matter.

  • that is only the intro

  • Is your copy ok do you have the CD inserted because i know some who have hacked with that and they sometimes get that message.

  • i installed sims 3 on my mac pro but after 2 few months it starts to crash and the message (please make sure sims 3 cd is inserted) what do i do???

  • Yea cheak out my other video on the right > MacBook Pro Playing Sims 3 Gameplay. Yes it runs very fast and smooth whilst in game.

  • thanks for this, does the game (in game whilst playing) run smoothly, and if so, what graphic settings are you running it on?

  • you should use screen flow.. it may slow it down a bit but could be different on macbook pros

  • Its 2.26 GHz

  • YAAAS! mines is too =D

    Is yours 4GB memory?

  • Is your MacBook Pro the 2.26 GHz or the 2.53 GHz?

  • lol sims 3 is a very shitty game graphically. integrated X3100 can run that. can u put a real benchmark on it like crysis with bootcamp? idk why but all mac ppl seem to think the 9400 is such a great card. its a low end card with only 16 stream procs.

  • Ok people as I said before the gameplay video up now uploaded so go see that. Hammid im guessin your macbook pro is the older boxy one. But with the improved Nvidia 9400 graphics. This game plays very well with only 2Gb of Ram on mine. The game is quite large and can get very sluggish on other machines but this New Mac handles it with very few stutters or odd movements.

  • OK!.. I did NOT see anything from the actual gameplay, which I must say runs slower than syrup on my MacBook Pro 2,2 GHz, 4GB RAM with Nvidia 8600GTS graphics card...

I freaking hate this Sims 3-Mac port since it uses Cider technology, meaning it more or less emulates the PC version of this game...

It's just a lazy way of making PC games Mac compatible.

So how is the actual GAME running for you?

  • Yes i know thats why i posted the video response

  • Dude, that isn't "playing the Sims 3", that's playing the intro video which isn't being rendered but just played back from your HD..

  • Well it says it gets up to about 32 c but the heat disapates up so you dont feel it on your lap at all it doesnt get warm at all when its streaming video.

  • just out of interest how is the fans when playing and also fans when streaming videos?

  • Again i apologise for the quality of the video but i have posted a new video about the gameplay with a a better quality. And it a 160Gb :)

  • which model is this? the 160GB or 250GB?

  • i play the sims 3 in my macbook too!

  • you are so cute!! lol

  • no its one of the most stable laptops out there if you dont fill it with crp like limewire but yea its really good sturdy and safe especially after september 8th with snow leapord release which is a safer operating system but you can install that later for ony £30 if you cant wait

  • ok thnk u soooooooooo much!! Aaaaa! i' ve one problem: i live in Greece, and here we dont have apple store soo i have to buy it from one store (whichs name i dnt rember!) and they dont offer guarante for more than 12 months so if it crash i wouldnt know how to repair it, do u thnk it will crash?

  • did you record it with your phone?haha hope to God I'm finaly getting my MacBook Pro tomorrow(also a 13 in)and hope that your right

  • Ok im just about to upload a gameplay video. And yes the macbook runs pretty warm after it but the heat doesnt go down onto your lap it goes up through the fan up the back

  • You showed the game intro which doesn't say at all how well the game runs.

Could you please show us gameplay in the game? Thanks

By the way, nice machine you got there.

  • How's the temp? I have the same model and it gets scorching hot after about an hour of gameplay.

  • hey you weren't playing. .. . . that was the intro :(

  • Good video, but the quality made it almost unbearable to watch
