And yes, when you get into bowsers layer, star man theme works, just touch him once and his ass is grass!

Yep, I remember doing that on the old NES back in the day. Really anticlimactic. Bowser dies instantly, IF you make it there suited, but it takes some luck to get all the way through there with a Hammer suit. And mind you there was no save feature on the NES so you better have all 3 (4 if you're lucky) of 'em saved up so you have more than one shot to get there without taking a hit.....
