Think about this! Usain Bolt has longer legs which allows for a longer stride, but got 19.30 seconds for the WR this year in the 200m (2009) while Michael Johnson was able to get 19.32 seconds. If Johnson was a bit taller but didnt lose his running style, he could have been faster than Usain Bolt, Thats just an "IF" scenario. Both runners are fast, but Usain has a body that is just naturally more able for running than Michael Johnson.

I'm not sure but i think Bolt's first half of his WR record was faster, and Johnson's 2nd half was faster than Bolt's. Which probably means that Bolt has more acceleration, just like a 100m sprinter, but Johnson had more stamina and could maintain his peak speed longer, mainly because he was also a 400m specialist.

The second one was in a staggering 9.20, which may very well be the fastest 100 meters run (non-withstanding 4 x 100m relay splits which may not be as accurate, or perhaps his 40m to 140m split, which I here was some 8.8x seconds!)
