I have never been to Comic-Con and it's been years (Like 25) since I was really considered a nerd. I often disagree with Penn. But then I often disagree with everyone. I've never been to comic con, but I go to ren faires a lot. The ren faire is portrayed the same as comic con; only nerds go there. I'm not a nerd, hell, I dont even know if I was correct to use a semi-colon in my last sentence. My point is though, people go to these places to have fun. If you're too stuck up to go to a place like comic con or the ren faire, maybe you're the loser. If you dont go because those places aren't your cup of tea, thats different. But dont be prejudice.

I've been jokingly called a geek whenever people see me and my friends in public playing Magic the Gathering or DnD (3.5). However, I've played football as the center/nose guard, so people never really see me as a geek except when they actually see me doing those things. I've got a carelessly grown in beard that does give me the hippie comment a lot. I'm happy I got into it all when I did and not more in the past.
