  • BEST OF THE BEST

  • Is David playing a Gretsch electric?

  • Simplemente sin palabras!!!!

  • El maestro Gilmour y el gran Geldof juntos ! esto es grande !!!!

  • Like and dislike buttons should not be side by side in YouTube. 29 people accidentally pressed dislike button here.

  • Me encanta como va leyendo la cancion jajajaja chingon!!!

  • Without Gilmour there is absolutely no Pink Floyd. Ever.

  • attore principale e devi leggere il testo dai bob

  • bob geldof is amazing at this song!

  • Bob Geldof :')

I can Die HAppy Now i've seen this video

    Bob

    SHine On You Crazy Diamond

  • increible, a pesar de la edad, sigue tocando y cantando de la misma forma, grande david, saludos desde chile y si por casualidad vez este mensaje, david ven a chile, porfavor ven

  • Gilmour is & was Floyd. No need for the rest.

  • He needs notes fuck come on

  • Waters who? LOL

    Glimour WAS Pink Floyd.

  • I've been listening to this song for most of my life ad it still gives me goosebumps. Thats the mark of a truly classic song

  • This track is made special by the beautiful cello 'foundation' - superb combination of rich strings and Gilmour's soaring guitar. The cello player looks as hot as she sounds ;)

  • they should do pink floyd rockband

  • @The1990Doctor an awesome idea, imagine expert on this song?

  • @bungeeful that would be the nuts because thats one of there best songs plus david gilmour is legend guitar player

  • This performance recording is fabulous.

  • This such a cool video..I never knew this happen..seeing bob just reminds me of the scene with this song...thanks for the upload...too cool

  • gilmour is a monster!

  • David Gilmour is a sycophant, obsessed with Waters. This fact, in my humble opinion is apparent here. So kids.....sing your own songs baby!

  • @KPNumbuzz how is that utter shite you just stated apparent in the video

  • love the cello

  • I watched an interview with Bob recalling the time he was asked to play Pink in The Wall. He said at the time he hated Pink Floyd..... thought they were "shite." He was a Boomtown Rat then, remember. However much some of us think Pink Floyd is the greatest band of all time, no everyone knows the lyrics.. and Sir Bob would look even more of a twit if he didn't have a prompt sheet and forgot the lyrics!

  • Un capolavoro distrutto con un suono osceno. Un omaggio di Gilmour, scopertosi commerciante, al potere dell'odierna industria culturale e dei suoi canoni. Quel violoncello c'entra come i cavoli a merenda. Ma con quanti l'ha cantato 'sto brano?

  • how can bob be a singer ?? he is shine...

  • @yinyinkong2559 shine?

  • I've seen two videos where Gilmour screwed up the lyrics (an 80s video of Run Like Hell and his surprise appearance on Waters' Wall tour, singing C-Numb) so c'mon, can we forgive Geldof now??

  • True...Bob Geldof never sang Comfortably Numb in the film but...he should have known the song man. I know the damn lyrics and I'm not a world famous musician or a musician at all and I wasn't in the film :P Great moment nonetheless :)

  • @IkarosK He never ever sang the Lyrics though to Comfortably Numb. He just laid there while other people slapped him about.

  • Mr. Floyd!

  • Bob Geldof never sang comfortably numb, why are people suprised hes reading lyrics, he only played the part of pink in the movie.

  • Ok, what is the deal with Bob reading his lines from a sheet of paper? Was that just clever stunt that didn't work? Otherwise, has the original pink taken so many drugs he can't even remember his original lines.

  • my god Bob Geldof got old

  • what a gift.......thanks!

  • shit

  • Muito bom!

  • MERAVIGLIOSO

  • i love Bob, but David Gilmour is THE SHIZ

  • david, don't touch that awful 'GRETSCH', take your 'STRAT' and make me happy !!! (or try a 'LES PAUL', it would work in this unique song !!!!!!!!) LES

  • i don't like other singers than david for this classical song !!! :-( right, the cello is brilliant,..., and i like davids (& rogers ) voice since 1974, i saw them live in berlin 1977 (animals !), best show ever !!! LES

  • Cello sounds wonderful ....

  • 3:12 amazing how the crowd is getting restless when he picks up the electric guitar :)

  • Nobody plays that thang like Gilmore ... awesomeness

  • Perfect!!!

  • wow

  • Geldof should lose the old guy and do it solo!

  • I Love them Pink Floyd and Bob

  • Analog teleprompter!

  • Geldof cantando Comfortably Numb, me encanta!!!

  • Bob Geldof is not required at all.

I could have sung these lines much and much better.

  • @musicphile Have you missed the connection.

  • Superbe interprétation, j'adore, une pensée pour Richard

  • The most memorable and amazing solo to ever grace music. Just WOW.

  • @pcjsleader Totally agree. Each time I hear it (which could be into the 1000's now) my neck hair still stands. Absolute genius.

  • Even without the awesome light show. This song is a classic. Nothing fancy, he just goes out there and plays. When you got talent like he does, that is all you need. And that's the way it should be.

  • Like a fine old muscle car, they just don't make them like this anymore.

  • I found myself hitting the thumb up, repeatedly.

  • da god plays 6:00

  • He looks completely hopeless, but I actually like his voice very much. Weird.

  • always an amazing song - thanks for sharing!

  • He's a pretty bad singer.

  • OMG ITS THE GUY FROM THE WALL MOVIE!!! PERFECT MATCH UP!!!

  • That was pretty darn awesome, thank you for sharing!

  • Come on my gran knows the lyrics to this just think it spoiled it a bit thats all

  • ... GRETSCH forever...

  • Bob @05:52 wow :D

  • Yes this song and Bob were part of one of the best movie scenes ever.......BUT why would Bob know all the lyrics, most likely this was kind of a last minnute thing, and they threw him the lyrics so he did not mess them up. Bob Geldof was NOT in Pink Floyd, he just played Pink in the Wall

    .

  • @speedave00 yet Geldof made it sound that it was born from his mind

  • Bob is too shine , because he is still in the wall @@

  • BOB is too shine...

  • bob , u did well in the wall :D

  • This is Nice

  • waters puede ser el poeta o el escritor pero gilmour es directamente PINK FLOYD...

    un maestroooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • The interview with him in Norway recently, by Skavland; - I enjoyed a lot; but the presenter CUT HIM OFF, when he started to talk about his emotional life; his grieving and sorrows - which is VERY TYPICAL for NORWEGIAN presenters; CANNOT STAND - emotion and people who sob and cry.......but with present government, THE CALLUS PRIMER JENS STOLTENBERG, people are adopting to this INSENSITIVE stinking ditch RAT!!

    ed

    w w w eddy nu

  • @saysbobgeldof u mad bro?

  • This makes me think o rthat scene in The Wall when Bob is dragged of kiicking and screaming

I'm sure Bob wants to shoot the whole day down....

  • seriously...this fucking song put Geldof on the map...and he cant remember the lyrics?

  • Thats unacceptable to have the bloody lyrics printed off. By anyones standards...

  • Probably Bob was feeling a little sick :)

  • You know...i realized in many situation that a lot of people are bored when an artist play a solo in a song...and i saw this thing usual especially from people who are not so tied with music...i mean they just like songs and whole band performance but they dont give a point in solos.

And now while gildmour changing guitar before the SOLO people start clapping and shouting. If i were Gilmour i would be so proud for myself. Thanks god gave us Gilmoud

  • Gilmour perfect, as always.

    Caroline Dale, an angel...

  • Oh, Bob looks exactly like the Joker from The Dark Knight, also he messed quite alot with the song :\ But yeah, was still good :D

  • This is GREAT!!!

  • Gilmore is my HERO my dad got me into flloyd at the age of 3.

However you would of thought Bob would know the lyrics to the best song in the world by now LOL he did play Pink anyway top song dave your the best see ya at the 02 cant wait love always Jammy

  • @TheJamnasty if you recall, Bob origanally didn't want to play the part of Pink in "the Wall" and had never heard of Pink Floyd. at least his voice sounds good, the spooky low tone

  • @likeicare2111 Were had he been then? Never heard of Pink Floyd at that time............

  • @6Rik6 Pink Floyd at the timme was going through a band break up. on a whole they were losing money left & right due to risky investments and extravagent concert costs. that and the Bands internal onflict was overbearing. Wright (the keyboardest, RIP) had already left due to tensions both in the band & at home, and Waters & Gilmour were already at eachothers throats. plus Waters was being a dick during the production of the movie.

also, i don't think Bob listened to the group tbh.

  • A Gretsh with filtertrons !! cool thanks pal, loved it.

  • Can't they memorize their lyrics ?

  • David!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Michael Kamen on the piano, epic.

  • Gilmour's voice sounds great! Something is lost with the changeovers of guitars prior to the solos.

  • Gilmour's voice sounds great!

  • Bob can do whatever he wants. He did reunite the greatest band ever to set foot on the planet.

  • que al revez que esta cantado esto! claramente geldof era para hacer de enfermo y gilmour jugarsela y hacer de medico!

  • But don't you think Bob's seen the Wall enough times to know these two short verses by heart? Good to see him stay faithful to Roger Waters' character.

  • I think Bob was a bit comfortably numb himself :) Sounded good though.

  • I haven't seen "The Wall" for a number of years, but it seems to me that the only song that Geldof sang was "In The Flesh". That movie was released how many years ago? Give the guy a break...

  • That ladies and gentlemen is how live is done

  • Hahaha I love the lady's expression at 4:28...

that's classic disgust at his singing...

  • I think Bob has Parkinson .. maybe the paper is their help .. 2 geniuses ..

  • bob sucks

  • Roger Waters replaced himself many, many years ago. Props to Gilmore for rockin on!

  • when was this and what for

  • I love how the two highest comments are against each other hahaha

  • it is smiple u cant replace ROGER WATERS.

  • @lalolonko, i cant hit the dislike button enough times on your comment.

  • A romantized epliptic seizure.

  • It must have been a monday, and BOB does not like Mondays =)

  • @foertzle sorry , i can't get it , can you tell me ??

  • @foertzle the wall??

  • Sorry to see he needed a sheet of paper with the words but thankfully he didn't change the key of that part of the song. Love Bowie but not a fan of what he did with it when he had a go at it!

  • @ApollosPlace, you ought to go to that video and say that, i commented that i didnt think bowie did a good job and now everyones going off that bowie is a better musician than waters, and the "quality of bowies stuff is better than floyds", i too like bowie but thats rediculous. back me up man!!

  • I do like David Gilmour, but let me just say that Bob Geldof gorgeously performs this song... So poignantly, it makes me cry. He is brilliant.

  • Considering Bob played the role of Pink in The Wall from which this song comes, and also the popularity of the song and how well known it is, it seems really strange that he needs a lyric sheet for it. Perhaps he was just in his usual state of 'bent'ness. Poor form Bob, good thing you had Dave there to prop you up with his magical singing and playing, along with the back up singers and players.

  • ROGER WATERS MAY BE THE POET....BUT DAVID GILMOUR IS PINK FLOYD....

  • Is that Michael Kamen on the piano?

  • i've got this DVD, simply creepy.....

btw: in the end of the song bob makes a strange serpentine like axl rose! :) funny!!! (even if that hardrock/shitrock band is not funny, bluach!)

  • Damn! Bob seems like he's out of it!

  • Geldof looks like a doctor reading a prescription. Tiny little details that make this performance memorable.

  • @chrislopo I rather find it shocking that he didn't knew the lyrics by heart.

  • For a singer who has been around for many years and has fronted a good band himself, walking onto stage with Gilmore with a piece of paper with the words to arguably one of Pink Floyd's most memorable songs it is totally amazing. Surely a gift for any singer is the ability to remember lyrics, especially for such a well known song.It looks bad and it could have been done more discretely but then when has Sir Bob ever been discrete, he never minces his words

  • If there is a rock band that ever came close to perfection, it has to be Pink Floyd...

  • lol is that the GUY???who played pink????THATS SIR BOB GELDOF!!! LOL...and yes that GUY played pink ...lol...hes also the first irish man to be knighted for his charity work...namely BAND AID...FEED THE WORLD....and was in one of the best punk bands in the world lol

  • Is that the guy who played Pink in The Wall movie? Looks like it.

  • Sad though. I see alot of famous names try and fill in for Roger in his part to this song. and sadly none of them could hold it. I can't sing anything else worth a damn I am not a musician but those small parts to this song which was Roger's parts. I can certainly sound and sing it as Roger did the the vocals perfect. :-p Just can't sing anything else. I might be the biggest Floyd fan of all time. And no Guitarist or Singer can touch Gilmour's he's the best!

  • Awesome great work.

  • Like this version, Bob Geldof done good job here and in "The Wall"

  • thought he done good!!

  • this version is so strange

  • Why would you hate Bob? The Wall is my favorite movie and it changed my life

  • RIP Richard

  • i hate how people hate on him. he IS Pink Floyd

  • @zippydude12345 Roger Waters?? i agree completely

  • He did great, he has the right voice for the song.....

  • If you wonder what's Geldof doing here, and why does he reads lyrics... well... just watch the movie "The Wall". :) Suddenly, you'll connect it.

  • Great version!

Geldof though sounds more like the drugged up patient rather than a doctor here :P

  • @kenakuma Have you seen the movie. if you havent you have predicted it.

  • @MauerEllsbury

    Yeah, I've seen it lol.

  • geldolf is reading the paper because the dumb-ass does not like pink floyd music. therefore he would most likely not know the lyrics because he is not a fan of their music. he did a great job though. try just listening to it and not watching

  • thx so much for posting. this may be the prettiest version I've ever heard. Nobody does it like Geldolf. Who cares if he used a cheat sheet. Its a testament to his accuracy. So beautiful.

  • Right Why do people slate geldolf for reading lyrics when the cello lady is reading sheet music?

  • maybe reading from the paper was part of the act, so shut the hell up!

  • Beautiful!

  • This is the best version imop. I've seen pink floyd 3 times starting with dark side of the moon back in the '70's and years between the next 2 shows. But this...with Bob singing and that solo by Dave on a Gretsch...and the bare bones organic sound going on throughout?...this is the way it was meant to be folks! Just the basic facts...

  • i dont give a rats ass what any of you pink Floyd purists say this is beautifully and a worthy addition.

  • Bob did just fine...it's not always arrogance and a polished act that is good, it's the pure character he added that made it so good...

  • How can U NOT know the lyrics to that song ? what an IDIOT U R bobby

  • Bob could have at least have give a hand shake to Dave before he left Deva!! :O)

  • It's better for him to have to read the lyrics than have you assholes chiding him for messing up the words.

  • @jltc008 It's pretty bad that he forgets tbh, considering he had the lead in the film who's primary song was this.

  • Having to read the lyric from a sheet? The famous Geldof? Pathetic. Bowie's sing-a-long is better.

  • que bueno ver a geldof quien fue el que actuo en la pelicula como pinki

  • gerçekten mükemmel

  • both of thwem have been khnighted and so they should be too

  • wtf stop slatin geldof hes a fkn legend so is david gilmour his guitars sound fkn awesome hes good on them

  • Increible sonido... yo le llamo a esto arte exquisito.

  • Go back to acting Bob, you can't sing for shit.

  • when he plays guitar i tear up every time

  • Okay, if Bob doesn't know the words he shouldn't be on stage. How lame does it look with him holding a piece of paper?? Come on guys...

  • Wow!! papelito en mano? NO SE LA SABE??? INCREIBLE!!

  • why the fuck is Geldof reading the lyrics? LOL, like he doesn't know the words..

  • This piece has to be in Guitar Hero, don't you agree?

  • YES BOWIE IS BETTER BET ANYWAY SINGING WITH THE GODS OF PINK FLOYD IS AN HONOR.

JONNYBLOOM22 THE WALL IS NOT THE BEST ALBUM AT ALL

  • best guitar player ever!!! DG Ive seen him live three times once at the Pontiac silver dome with 110,000 people in Pontiac MI WOW every other concert I have seen since has felt like a waste of money compared to these guys!! I WAS FIRST IN LINE IN 79 WHEN THE WALL CAME OUT, i WAS ONE OF THE FIRST PEOPLE TO LISTEN TO IT IN dETROIT AND i LISTENED TO ALL 4 SIDES every day FOR ONE FULL year!!

  • this just isn't nearly as good with out roger as the doctor IMO

  • Oh oh oh Gilmour ♥ Muy buen dúo. Genios! Y para mejorarlo todo, el tema mas hermoso de todos, Pink Floyd ♥

  • Hey look, a stage full of atheists. =)

  • It doesn't surprise me that Bob Geldorf wouldn't even take the time to memorize the lyrics. He should be grateful to Gilmour for even inviting him and allowing him to sing something else besides "I don't like mondays"
