The Amtrak trains are once or twice an hour. The D&H (Delaware & Hudson Line) trains go by at random. Between 9am and 8pm is a good time to spot one.

Maple Leaf, Adirondack and Cascades ! sad to say the International was cut in April 2004. Hopefully someday it will be reinstated !

Amtrak should have a Montreal to Boston Train and one from Winnipeg to Minnesota - a connector to the Empire Builder.

where do trains 281, 284 and 48 go ??

They do have a train from Montreal to NY Penn Station which is The Adirondack, But to get to Boston you would have to stay overnight in NYC. Train 281 goes from NY Penn to Niagara Falls, train 284 comes from Niagara Falls to NY Penn Station. Train 48 is The Lake Shore Limited which runs between Chicago and NY Penn Station. There is also train 49 which runs from NY Penn Station to Chicago but in this case it was train 48.

@Trainlover4ever2006 Stay over at Albany it's cheaper than NYC. Try to get a Hotel (not a motel) that will pick you up at the station. If they have a van, sometimes they will run you anywhere close by.

Since they broke all the connections at Albany going north. To go to Saratoga Springs, I'll have to get off at the General Electric city. Get a city bus or cab to Saratoga Springs, when I go.

@northlanderdude Yes, they should have alot of trains. If Canada would help with the across the border service at least! But Canada doesn't. And why have trains to Canada with no service to Louisville, Nashville, and many other MAJOR cities. Infact the new tea party congress just voted to SHUT the whole thing down! It didn't pass this time. But with the oil and airline people and their lobbys at work in the government...good luck to us!
