@SWO4LIFE2 Not a fair comment, of course a band is going to change over 40 years as technology changes, they get older and there influences change, fortunatly I'm basically a fan of all their stuff, even though I don't really like the synthy albums they did, they're still very well made, and after their third album they made some of their greatest music. Enjoy it, and if you don't thats ok, but you can't knock there ability, hard working attitudes and awesome personalities. Have an awesome day!

No, Alex. Stright forward is Angus Young. A Gibson SG plugged straight into an amp. THAT, my friend is the definition of straight forward! Great musician, I love Rush.

I know it! Tim Mahoney from 311 is another one. If you watch his interview, he has a pedal board with over 100 pedals and a rack that looks like it came from the set of a sci-fi movie, and he states at one point "It looks complicated, but it isn't really"... No Tim, it IS complicated. I guess they really do find it simple.

@OliTheGuitarist Some of that gear has only been around a year or two. But your right, the basic rig is probably the same. Still, it may be simple and straight forward for a guy of his talent and experience, but to the average Joe, it's a complex rig. Alex is the best.

One of my favorite guitarists from one of my all time favorite bands. I'm partial to the PRS, but Al sounds killer with his Les Pauls as well. Like the 'Rush Sounding' music in the intro and outrp too.
