  • You can tell just by looking at his head that he is a walking pharmacy of banned substances. He'll go to his grave knowing he used steroids but never got caught

  • He confesses to nothing stupid video

  • Carl Lewis was found to have small amounts of steroids in his system at the US trails in 84 and 88. Both times the US classified it as a negative result. The Santa Monica racing club was full of cheats. Just like the US team was.

  • he admitted to taking stuff that were legal when he competed but are banned today. he cheated.

  • best athlete ever

  • @sidvic1ous

except ben johnson was way way better

  • the u.s.a won't win their olympic and world championships without those peds.

  • all american athletes are dopers. u.s.a. produces the world's greatest peds and dope athletes. end of story.

  • @MrTaipan55 so jesse owens was on on steroids, even when it was'nt even invented yet?

  • @moonwalker5800 yeah and Edwin Moses had specially designed shoes to do hurdles in but the shoes had drugs in em - this is funny dude! Carl Lewis was beat in the Olympics because of drugs culprit Ben Johnson

  • @MrTaipan55 how is that the end of story? What makes your point so conclusive? Carl Lewis was never "caught" doping during his career. If you want to throw accusations at who got all of this doping shit started look no further than the eastern block countries i.e. the former Soviet Union who routinely had women running sub 50's in the 400's during the early 80's, 24 ft long jumpers and sub 11's in the 100. You gotta come a little better than that.

  • @gtisfree Carl Lewis was caught more than once for "unintentional use" of performance enhancers. Steroids have been in the Olympics since 1935, though it's highly unlikely Jesse Owens had access to them. Testosterone, is first synthesized by Butenandt and Ruzicka in 1935 and the Germans were the first to use them in sports. Watch "Bigger, Stronger, Faster" for a more objective look at the history of steroids.

  • @Cold4ged I watched it and saw the letter that former USOC guy displayed. Cold medicine which is what he took does not contain human growth hormone, anabolic steroids or any or 'KNOWN" PED. So Carl Lewis was never caught.

  • @gtisfree Now were into semantics. I don't know or say he did anything deliberately wrong. He claims it was cough medicine or herbal tea. He was caught more than once with banned substances. There are tons of performance enhancers that aren't steroids and the bottom line is that if he was caught with those in his system in Seoul, he would have been stripped of his medal too. That is a fact, not conjecture or opinion.

  • bigger stronger faster documentary basically proved lewis was on drugs

  • @lucky44124 The drug he used was just Ma Huang - which is an acceptable drug. He never used any banned drugs such as steroids - otherwise why would he be campaigning so strongly against them??

  • @PONYBOY430 Ben Johnson isn't the fastest human EVER you dumb ass. Usain Bolt is currently the fastest man in the world with a time that's much faster than 9.79. That wouldn't make Ben Johnson the fastest man ever.

  • He said "drugs or integrity"

  • @PONYBOY430 He was a cheat, end of story

  • I think giving back the medals is bullshit. The best would be just indicate "GOLD MEDAL" doped and "GOLD MEDAL" not doped.

  • What if he was gay?

A Gay and Vegan has beaten the world record at his 30 years old, that shoud make you shut up to think how stupid you are.

  • You wanna see the truth? Watch the documentary Bigger Stronger Faster right here on youtube, they interview Carl and Ben Johnson, the guy in charge of doping test and stuff.........

  • carl lewis is the biggest fraud of all time, not only is he a drug cheat he's a lair too. ben johnson was twice the sprinter he was!

  • 1988 us trials: he was positive tested on steroids. they did need him because of propaganda against communism country like UdSSR and GDR.

  • @Partizan1379 not on steroids but on a stimulant.

  • There is no surprise here, but what is annoying and hypocrital is Lewis came across in his career as stating drugs were wrong they shouldnt be used, i could never do a thing like that etc etc.

But what will the Athletic Authorities do about it, now? Nothing, Hypocrites, because the sport is too watered down now, and there afraid of putting noses out of joint on this. It's sad more than anything else.

  • i think he meant to say drugs have stolen the integrity of the sport.

  • we need to get the drugs back in it.

  • did i just hear what ithought i heared

  • Another black drug cheat....the list is a mile long.

  • @TraderJack641 Only because they're desperate to beat the fastest black non-cheat, who is still faster than the rest. Thanks for playing though. Drugs are bad, mmmmkay.

  • I´m of course a big fan of Carl since a litlle kid, and i dont want to be insulting. But was he gay?

  • @connymat of course he was gay, i mean, he said it himself. but, here he's not promoting drugs because he is saying "drugs or integrity"

  • @connymat Carl Lewis's sexual orientation is no one's business but his own. That said, in his autobiography - entitled "Inside Track: My Life In Track and Field" - he strongly denied rumours that he was a homosexual.

Mr Lewis's long list of glittering achievements in the sport - back in the 1980s AND 1990s - has given earned the right to be regarded as one of the greatest - if not the greatest - track and field athlete of the 20th century (irrespective of whether he is

  • @TheEctomorph Just a question maestro, dont take it the wrong way.. He was my hero as a child, when i was competing in track and field.

  • @connymat Fair enough. Mr Lewis was a great athlete in his prime, as you know. In fact, back in 1984, he was number 1 in the world at three different events simultaneously; the 100 metres, 200 metres and long jump.

What is more, big Carl was NEVER found guilty of taking anabolic steroids during his distinguished career in international track and field athletics; which lasted from 1979 'til 1996.

  • @TheEctomorph yes, he really was amazing.. The thing i most remember him for was world cup in 90 or 91. The long jumpwith Powel taking gold even though Lewis jumped longer then the record. And of course the World record in the 100 m.. Carl at his best!

  • @connymat [Continuing on from my previous 'post' about Carl Lewis]: heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual or asexual).

  • the fact is he was great yes but he failed 3 drug tests and was still cleared to run. Linford failed 1 after he had stoped competing and asked to be tested and every body tried to kill his name.

  • @hardlife1 - Christie failed a test in-competition test in '88 for pseudo-ephedrine and another in '99 for nandrolone. This wasn't after he had stopped competing, it was following a doping test after an indoor meet in Germany. He was found to have more than 100 times normal levels of the metabolites of nandrolone in his urine.

  • @broadjumper1 yes your right he failed a test in 88 which he was cleared of.

As for the test that he failed in 99 after he did stop competitive racing he was again cleared but only for the iaaf to over rule and ban him for two years as for the fact he was 100 over the normal level of nandrolone is a myth.

The test showed he was over the norm for the level but no way was it 100 times thats what the papers printed and not fact based at all.

  • @hardlife1 - He wasn't "cleared", of anything. He was essentially given a pass from the IOC's disciplinary committee by a vote of 11 to 10. Once again in '99 he wasn't cleared and it wasn't after he had stopped racing. The test he failed was a POST RACE doping test and the IAAF didn't accept UK Athletics explanation. And unless you have a valid report that the contradicts the reports of being 100 times over the norm, why should we put any stock in that?

  • @hardlife1 - The point is that whether it was intentional or not, he was accountable for the substances in his body. He got away with one and second time he wasn't so lucky. Likewise, I feel that Lewis was very-fortunate that he wasn't banned and it could very well be looked upon as unfair favoritism, but at least his violations weren't steroidal

  • I'm sorry, but anybody who misunderstands what he's saying in this video - despite its poor sound quality - is an idiot.

Carl Lewis' legacy rests firmly on the fact that throughout his career he maintained that he was drug free and still acts as an anti-drug lobbyist in sport.

Maybe certain YouTubers should lay off the drugs. That way they won't go posting legitimate videos and alleging that those pictured are advocating principals that are contrary to their actual beliefs!

  • @DigitalMemoriesSA If you want to bury your head in the sand that's your problem:

"Lewis tested positive three times before the 1988 Olympics for pseudoephedrine, ephedrine, and phenylpropanolamine, banned stimulants and bronchodilators also found in cold medication, and had been banned from the Seoul Olympics and from competition for six months."

  • Drugs OR integrity

  • @matthewd1993 That is correct. I slow motioned it, and he does say drug OR integrity.

  • this guy was the biggest drug cheat in history, no secret. he failed 8 pre-1988 olympic tests... he's also a flaming homosexual...

  • @KamRooks

all gays should be killed...including flaming ones.

  • Hahaha cool :P

  • Biggest hypocrite ever... Carl Lewis

  • As if Mr Lewis here has never fail a drug test before..........watch the documentary bigger stronger faster he failed at least twice before the olympics LMAO mustve got a random test near the end of a cycle

  • What's with the idiot that posted this nonsense. Please go to your local pharmacy and buy some qtips to clean your ears......CARL said "drugs or integrity. We gotta that get that back in"

  • WHAT???? WHAT WAS THAT!!??

  • Drugs or Integrity is what he said.

  • wow!

  • It sounds like he says "Drugs or integrity" in the video as if to say that people that do drugs are not moral?

  • shut yuh blood clawt mout wid yuh fuckry

  • dat a fuckry fi real

  • u joking lol

    no they wouldnt

  • whats with all the Drug Cheat crap? I think I'd rather see drug cheats perform any day of the year!!! i think they should leagalize alot of the drugs that are presently legal. So many athletes have done the drugs and it didn't help them one bit!

  • Lewis is old junkie ! If he didn't use drugs he wouldn't look like shit nowdays.

  • ive been saying this for 2 decades now, nobody believed me. drug use in athletics is a MUST since 1936.

  • lol, can you please elaborate?

  • ofc. anabolic steroids is a basic thing since 1936. since then there have been more elaborate drugs. i was in the national team (1984) in my country...

    so... i know.

  • herbal remedy? That's wat they all say. After pointing his fingers at others too. Sanctimonius drugs cheat + cover up by the IAAF. He should be stripped of all his medals

  • Carl Lewis did not take steriods it was a herbal remendy which he was cleared from.. Carl Lewis when he burst on the scene as a teenager was in a different league. Stop comparing him to Ben Johnson. Ben Johnson came 6th in 1984 and in 1988 was smashing world records. Thats DRUGS!!!!

Lewis has been cleared of any wrongdoing, so stop tarnishing his image.

  • Carl Lewis 1984 - 9,94

    Carl Lewis 1988 - 9,78 WIND

    What's that?

  • If athletes do not use drugs then it wouldn't be exciting. All athletes use drugs starting in high school then college and the pros. Give me some drugs and I will be the next Kobe Bryant.

  • i doubt it...^^

  • lmao..steroids doesn't give you skill..you'd just be a muscular, fasr dude who sucks ass at basketball

  • @crapmonstr you're right, they don't give you skill, but they can enhance any skill you do have. Basketball is the worst example though....supremely gifted highschool kids can go right to the NBA, but even in basketball, it would help tremendously because your body would heal more quickly, so you'd be feeling great at the end of the season. Safe to say in all sports, it's better to be stronger, faster, quicker, powerful, explosive....

  • @crapmonstr is that what your saying?

well there are many types of steroids 2 main steroids that athletes use..

    A. - muscular growth

    B. -increases stamina and reduces lactic acid build up..

  • @crapmonstr

Ur right, except basketball doesn't require brute force or power, which is why highschoolers who had the skills could play in the NBA. But baseball homeruns, steriods definitely help, pitching harder, recuperation etc. The main way it would help NBAers though is to help last the grind of the basketball season.

  • I guess you dont understand what steroids does...lol. It doesnt give you skill...

  • he was the biggest drug cheat in t & f history.. what a douchebag.. he should be forced to surrender all his medals...

  • CArl Lewis was a drug cheat like ben johnson .....the difference is other countries dont see drugs as integrity but america does.... Carl just said drugs are integrity

  • Anyone have a link to a trust work site that list all positive drug tests for all athletes through out their careers ?

  • everyone is on drugs. There are hundreds of performance enhancers, and they test for only a few.

  • yeah everyone who gets busted say "I had a flu"...ffs

  • he was a legend before 88 so what's the problem. so he took some dodgy cold remedy. No-one can claim that is on a par with a programme of steroids. get your facts right before you spout bullshit.

  • EXACTLY! YOU ARE SO RIGHT!

  • yes lewis was on drugs... and he failed 8 pre '88 tests, not 3... he also likes sucking dick

  • so true he was a drug cheat like ben johnson. but the difference is other countries dont see drugs as integrity but america does

  • hahahahahah fuckkkk

  • he was tested and failed 3 times but its was due to drugs found in a cold medication that he was usein after that all test were clear

  • Of course he used, that every stupid man know. Watch the movie bigger stronger faster...

  • incase you hadn't realised

    its just a film..

  • in case you didn't realize it's a documentary movie

  • In 2003, Dr. Wade Exum, the United States Olympic Committee's director of drug control administration from 1991 to 2000, gave copies of documents to Sports Illustrated which revealed that some 100 American athletes who failed drug tests and should have been prevented from competing in the Olympics were nevertheless cleared to compete. Among those athletes was Carl Lewis.

It was revealed that Lewis tested positive three times before the 1988 Olympics for pseudoephedrine, ephedrine, and phenylpro

  • drugs are integ what? we need to get it back in?

  • look proven fact lewis ws exposed to have been caught 3 times failing the drug test the concentrations of drugs wer low but it had a strong effect on him Btw usa kept his drug tests secret

  • he was no drugie

  • yes he was

  • he probably tried to say "Drugs arn't integrity, we need to bring that back in" meaning we need to bring integrity back in it

  • I know something's up with it, but it's still hilarious to see him say with a straight face, what sounds like "....drugs are integrity, we gotta get that back in it." LOL!

  • u took a sound bite and made an huge accusation

  • Him a seh shit like this then turn roun and wah accuse Bolt of being on drugs. Wat a dutty badmind!

  • He said "we need to bring back drugs to the sport to make it more exiting"

  • "drugs OR integrity (either or), and we need to get that integrity back" meaning he's against drugs

  • It was a joke.

  • no he didnt dickhead listen

  • DID, DID,DID.

  • He just misspoke. He does that a lot (Not the best of speakers), but obviously he is talking against drugs. Stop Hating

  • not a good speaker, just a rapper

  • the guy is living legend!

  • Use youre common sense people and put 2 and 2 together!!

He CLEARLY meant to say "drugs (took away the) integriy (of track)and we need to get (the integrity) back in."

    DUH!!!

Gosh, illiteracy is running rampant on Youtube!

  • He said drugs are an integrity and we need to get it back in the sport....his mind is infested with termites to say shit like that.

  • LMAO... funny shit.

  • @muzikmedia no man he said "Drugs or integrity" listen again. He's saying that sports loses its integrity when drugs are used

  • @acornman37 yeah now i noticed that the 2nd time after reading this comment

  • @acornman37 Yes, I believe that, that is the correct interpretation of the big man's comment.

  • @muzikmedia nope he said that drugs are intergering so what he sais is good

  • @muzikmedia Deaf git!

  • I grew up watching this man,one of the best.

  • first

  • he was a herbivore now vegetarian that's why he was quick, could eat digest fast to gain more nutrition

  • yes! He was vegan....now he's vegetarian?

  • At first it seems like he said ''drug and integrety'' but I think he really said ''draw that integrety''

  • He doesn't say draw that integrity...he said "drugs are integrity"...what i took from it is that he is sayin that it is essentially the norm for athletes to be on drugs instead of abstaining from the usuage of these drugs

  • he said drugs or integrity. saying it like which one is it gonna be
