  • Haha his face at the end! He's like, "Uhh that's right you better fuckin' clap."

  • WTH?? Why'd everyone wait forever to clap?

  • happy birthday jorma!

oyur music is always in our soul!

  • I have to say, Jorma is one of the most under-rated guitarists I've ever seen, he is incredibly talented and doubly experienced. I cannot fathom why he doesn't have more fame amongst the musical community.

  • Hey Nicole, remember this song? This was us in a nutshell. Short and sweet. memories ruined only by my undisciplined sadness. Forever, The Cuckoo Boy

  • Wasn't that Guitar World's Acoustic classics issue that came out? I seem to remember it having some of the best acoustic tabs in that issue. Embryonic Journey, Midsummers Daydream, Little Martha, Blackbird, Dee, etc.

  • @HailCostanza - Yes it is, it has a lot of great tunes in Tab format

  • pure magic Jorma! I feel like it's 1967 again

  • @haworthhoarder

infact this is absolutely timeless music

  • oh yea, you can really play that guitar, hot fuckn' jorma.

  • Well that's pretty holy shit great.

  • They're recording, hence the delayed clap.

  • delayed clap there, whats that about

  • All I can say is he is as hot as ever! Hot Fucking Jorma! How Great is he?

  • He is great, isn't he !!

Also, writes a lot of great tunes and lyrics

  • Oh Jorma!

  • classic

  • He's coming for an interview at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this week. I hope to meet him this Wednesday.

  • There a several other songs on this video that are pretty good, I'll post them this weekend I think. Jorma's the best !!

  • So, you don't play this first position?

  • There is a fairly accuract TAB available in Acoustic Guitar from a few years ago. I learned it from that and when at Jorma's guitar camp, he taught it and it was basically the same. Jorma said the TAB was pretty accurate

  • Okay, thanks a lot!

  • definately out of A shape on 5th fret for the main riff.

But he does go to open D position for the later section with the sus sound and the sliding 4ths on E and B strings.

Jorma teaches this tune very detailed on his Homespun video #1 .

  • Jorma never played with the Starship. He and Jack left when the group was called Jefferson Airplane.

  • this guys hands are so huge.... and about the metal picks they sure take a while to get used to. i mean they run into all your strings, its feals like the first time you tried to play a guitar.

  • His hands are'nt as big as they might appear. The fingerpicks you get used to. I play with or without them, it is just a different sound and there are advantages either way. Woody Mann plays without them and is fantastic, Jorma plays with them and is fantastic, I play both ways and still stink !!

  • This video helped me finally crack the key to this song-the metal fingerpicks on the index and middle fingers make it happen! I have just used the thumbpick, but the metal fingerpicks really make the dynamics close to the record.Jorma uses only thumbpick sometimes, but I think this is much closer to the recording...

  • Hey smocke you are very welcome with your great info. and done in great style.

You know, my opinion was really biased because of being an almost life long Stills fan, and hearing some incredible sounds coming out of that acoustic of his, so I guess I will think twice before comenting next time.

Thanks for the info. regarding Blind A. Blake I will check him out.

  • now is his name pronounced like its spelled? howw do you say it?

  • hes very good at it, ok? but still, stephen stills kick his ass easily

  • You are nuts, right !!

  • I f you say so its fine. But I still thinks the same sorry.

  • Thanks..I might even try it on the 12 string to really drive myself nuts!

  • Good god, learn it on 6 first. Trust me. It sounds absolutely SUPERB on 12 though. So do try to get there! :)

  • insane! tht was spot on. what id give to be able to play this song

  • There will never be another finger style guitar player like Jorma... This man eeks ever note out of the instrument.

  • this is not "FInger style" guitar. check andy mckee for fingerstyle

  • For sure, Gary Davis was instrumental in Jorma's trip to guitar mastery, but as much as I love and respect The Reverend, Jorma is much more fluid, crisp and tight.

  • @deweypug Fingerpicking (also called thumb picking, alternating bass, or pattern picking) is a term that is used to describe both a playing style and a genre of music. In this technique, the thumb maintains a steady rhythm, usually playing "alternating bass" patterns on the lower three strings, while the index, or index and middle fingers pick out melody and fill-in notes on the high strings.

  • @joezero315 What in god's good name or you blathering about?

  • @deweypug the difference between fingerstyle and finger picking, learn how to read.

  • @joezero315 You are splitting hairs here... Both styles are so fused into one another at this point. .Anyway, Jorma called me and he said he doesn't like you.

  • @deweypug fingerstyle playing can include chords, arpeggios and other elements such as artificial harmonics, hammering on and pulling off with the fretting hand, using the body of the guitar percussively, and many other techniques.

  • @joezero315 ahahhah what a troll you are... this is pure fingerpicking man! jorma IS fingerpicking

  • @keo774 troll, no. this is fingerpicking, yes. this is not fingerstyle, as i stated above.

  • @joezero315 well who cares about its name, its the most beautiful thing in existence

  • uhhh- u can move your rear ends now-- Thank-you, Goodnight!!

  • My "Pointed Little Head" thanks you

  • Pure joy. Thank you.

  • GRANDISSIMO

  • Weird expression on his face at the end - OK guys, you can applaud now. LOL

    Great instrumental. A classic.

  • No, It is a Gibson. Schoenberg guitars are great though. I played one of Eric's at FPR and it sounded fantastic !!

  • Your welcome. I don't know if PBS-TV ever broadcast this show?

  • Thanks!!

Best performance of this on YouTube.

Just Jorma - Nobody else - Nice close-up shots.

    SUPERB!!!!!!!
