Does Season 3's episode 1 have the same style and quality of contrasts, shadows and deep colors that most season 1 and 2 episodes had? I havent seen season 3 yet but from the previews it appears something with the lighting or camera style just isnt right (not the same style)
I really found it hard to believe Henry's obsession with Ursala in the show ("just one more night!" and whatnot). Charlotte Salt is pretty, but nowhere near as gorgeous as Annabelle Wallis. It'd make sense if she had an enigmatic aura or a lot of charisma, like Natalie Dormer (Anne Boleyn), but...she doesn't. To me she was just a random brunette, and I found Sir Francis and King Henry's immediate infatuations with her and the way they waxed poetic about her looks completely unbelievable.
But that didn't make her invincible either, as Queen she could have easily fallen into the same trap by persisting in offering her religious beliefs to the king, just as well she hid her allegiance to her faith thereafter from King Henry or she may well have also knelt at the block. Such a rich history we have and I am glad we can all share it in place like this, the Tudor Renaissance period is a fascinating and pogniant time in our heritage, our commonwhealth was formed upon it

In all actuality, Jane was very different from Anne, she was not acting. Jane was a traditional Catholic English woman while Anne was a Protestant sympathizer who was more French than English in her behavior. Jane was fair, Anne was dark, Jane was part of the Aragonese Faction, Anne was the figurehead of the Boleyn Faction.
So Jane wasn't "acting" or playing Henry, she was being herself, which was the opposite of Anne.
I don't think that Jane was herself. She knew what Henry did to Katherine and Anne and she was scared being herself. She just acted innocence and kindness because she hadn't no choice.

I think you would be surprised how many kids/ young people do watch this sort of series especially girls aged 11 - 16.
I used to love costume dramas as a teenager...but in those days they actually had such things as historical reality and soild facts, also the odd ugly actor!!

Katharine was not a bitch. Historians themselves say that had a male heir been born, Henry was likely to have remained monogamous, because he himself loved and thought highly of Katharine while she was the queen.

great show! shame we in the U.K are getting series 3 so much later than all our friends from across the pond!, but all the tudors locations are on our doorstep, I went to Hever Castle last week and travel past the Tower of London everyday on my way to work! so if you miss the tudors and your from the U.K, get out there and visit.
You'd think that a show that takes place in England, about historic figures and events in English history, and done with English actors would be released in Britain as fast as fucking possible.

Mary had three women that were like Mother's to her.
Her Mother Katharine, her Stepmother Jane, and her governess Margaret Pole...I'm pretty sure Mary is blaming Cromwell for Pole's execution in regards to the show.

This is true! I had forgotten poor the poor Countess had been butchered while Cromwell was still very much in power-or seemed to be. It would make sense for Mary to blame Cromwell (and Cranmer too although he is not featured this season) for the loss of the good women in her sad life. Cranmer really should be there-he was burned at the stake under Mary I. He was there right through Henry's reign to the bitter end.

They have to, they could actually continue with all of Englands history. As long as they continue to be accurate. I am pleased with the portayal of events during the Tudor dynasty, save for H8's good looks.

(: Charles Brandon/ Henry Cavill is so cute (: He is one of my favourite characters in this series, he has changed so much since Season 1. I cant wait for this, Season 1&2 were incredible but Season 3 looks amazing. I hope Season 5 is about the beginning of Henry's reign (: That would be interesting. I wonder what would have happened to Jane if she had not died of the infection shortly after giving birth...(: Guess we will never know.
Actually, there will be 5 seasons. Season 4&5 are being filmed back to back so JRM can be a part of it.
Season 3 should be 10 episodes, starting with Jane Seymour becoming queen and Cromwell being executed. 1536-1540. Season 4 will be Henry's marraige to Kathryn Howard and Catherine Parr. Season 5 is questioned, whether they go back to 1509 and tell the beginning of Henry's reign or they go onto Edward and Mary in the fifth season.

Sadly Mary(SB) wasn't in any of the promotinal shots. But from what I've read, Mary will be playing a large role in this season, which is only right seeing as this was a very important time in her life.
I TOTALLY AGREE! I think Natalie Dormer made the show for the last two seasons by making Anne such a complex, interesting, and sympathetic character. Plus JRM's scenes with her were so HOT -- I will miss their chemistry together! I'm not sure the actress who will play Jane will have the same acting chops or chemistry with him so I don't know how watchable this next season will be for me... but time will tell.
Anne was a greedy gold digging whore, show wasn't comnplex or interesting, Just your typical homewrecking skank, nothing revolutionary about that, glad she met a bad end.

Henry VIII was tall, red headed , overweight by 1537 and very overweight within the decade.
This one is short, dark brown hair, very slim with a six pack way beyond 1537...and Irish!!

I am going to love this season!
I just saw today where Jane dies....RIP. She was a good woman and true to her convictions to the end.
What Im looking forward to is watching that bastard Cromwell overplay his hand and get it in the neck! After all the people he persecuted and enjoyed doing so, I am going to love watching him go on the block.

I watched the preview with a scene that seems to foreshadow the Queen the Princess Mary would become-she states that if she blames Cromwell for her father's views and if she could she would-burn him. :)

Mary had three women that were like Mother's to her.
Her Mother Katharine, her Stepmother Jane, and her governess Margaret Pole...I'm pretty sure Mary is blaming Cromwell for Pole's execution in regards to the show.
So Mary wants Cromwell to get what he gives, if ya catch my drift.

This is true! I had forgotten poor the poor Countess had been butchered while Cromwell was still very much in power-or seemed to be. It would make sense for Mary to blame Cromwell (and Cranmer too although he is not featured this season) for the loss of the good women in her sad life. Cranmer really should be there-he was burned at the stake under Mary I. He was there right through Henry's reign to the bitter end.

They have to, they could actually continue with all of Englands history. As long as they continue to be accurate. I am pleased with the portayal of events during the Tudor dynasty, save for H8's good looks.

Great video this is the intro to the tudors series and yes it is on the soundtrack. The official date is sunday april 5 2009 for the premire of season 3. However, showtime has the first episode of the new season on their site, it is also on channel 101 directtv and it is on youtube so check it out.

(: Charles Brandon/ Henry Cavill is so cute (: He is one of my favourite characters in this series, he has changed so much since Season 1. I cant wait for this, Season 1&2 were incredible but Season 3 looks amazing. I hope Season 5 is about the beginning of Henry's reign (: That would be interesting. I wonder what would have happened to Jane if she had not died of the infection shortly after giving birth...(: Guess we will never know.

Actually, there will be 5 seasons. Season 4&5 are being filmed back to back so JRM can be a part of it.
Season 3 should be 10 episodes, starting with Jane Seymour becoming queen and Cromwell being executed. 1536-1540. Season 4 will be Henry's marraige to Kathryn Howard and Catherine Parr. Season 5 is questioned, whether they go back to 1509 and tell the beginning of Henry's reign or they go onto Edward and Mary in the fifth season.

Sadly Mary(SB) wasn't in any of the promotinal shots. But from what I've read, Mary will be playing a large role in this season, which is only right seeing as this was a very important time in her life.

I TOTALLY AGREE! I think Natalie Dormer made the show for the last two seasons by making Anne such a complex, interesting, and sympathetic character. Plus JRM's scenes with her were so HOT -- I will miss their chemistry together! I'm not sure the actress who will play Jane will have the same acting chops or chemistry with him so I don't know how watchable this next season will be for me... but time will tell.
