can anyone recommend a pc laptop for video editing HD getting sick of the lag on my pc and can't work with more than 3 minutes (10second clips) at 720p or the programe freezes please folks Im on a budget..
@v2hsigner The problem is not with Vegas but with the many different formats of mov/mp4 video, and videos that are mov/mp4 in avi wrappers. The quicktime codec from Apple is not compatible with all mov/mp4 formats, and without a standard codec, some videos play audio, some don't. Some play video, some don't If you have Movie Studio8 or 9, try to fix shown in my video at 'Fix mp4 / mov problems in Sony Vegas Movie Studio'
@v2hsigner If the video isn't playing with the avi files, it means they are really mp4 files in a avi wrapper. Basically mp4 files with an avi extension. You'll either need to convert those files to true avi, or find out what codec was used to create those files, and then install that on your computer. You can use the free gspot appliance to check the codec used by those video files. Search google to find the gspot codec detector.
@guerillabill I ran the scan, and they were XVID. I downloaded the XVID codec, and it still doesn't work. Is there a specific place to put the XVID codec or a certain thing I must do?
@v2hsigner If you visit the Xvid site, you'll note that the XVID codec is designed to create small files and fast playback for the web, but are not intended for editing. Much of the info needed to edit XVID files is compressed out to keep the file size small. And it is nearly impossible to open files compressed with xvid in a video editing program.
I was wondering if you could help me with a problem i've having? The tools on the track headers are all gone, except solo and mute. This goes for if i put in an audio or video clip. Please help.
@guerillabill Thanks. But how many colors can be controlled? Only depending how many times the Filter is used? This way it would be possible to change almost every color into something totally different...
@TheCattleRoper In my opinion, Movie Studio 10 Platinum is definitely worth purchasing. The 10 audio and 10 video timelines makes it worthwhile. And all the other new features are just icing on the cake.
@DanielCaswell75 Oops - you are correct. Secondary color corrector and many other effects added in Sony Movie Studio 10 Platinum - not in earlier versions.
@guerillabill :O really? i swear i seen a tutorial for this before and i went to do it but the secondary one wasn't there...i would have a look but im on my laptop..i looked tomorrow :)

@guerillabill Thank you! but that only worked with the MOV files... The AVI files are still playing audio only. How can that be fixed?

I just wonder what's the difference between this secondary FX and the normal one...
dummerbube 10 months ago
@dummerbube The secondary color corrector allows you to control specific colors. The normal color corrector controls all colors at once.

@mentanxg You can use keyframes in the secondary color corrector to fade the effect in and out. I just tested this and it works.
