One of the extra enemies is after the first squid and before the two starfishes.

Another is a starfish behind the left non-spam shell.

The last one is around the two very first pillars you see. In short, there ARE more enemies in the Japanese version. I hope I got that right.

But it seems, you missed two hits before the laser, my best there was 43. I'm not really sure, cause this two are only possible by abdicate to the laser, which maybe costs more hits in the end.

The best I have had before the laser is 42 and that has only happened like 5 times ever. I have never ever had a 43. I dunno why. Maybe I'm just not doing the spamming as well I as could be. Can you do a video of you getting a 43 before the laser upgrade?

Ah OK. Don't worry then if it is that unlikely. I just wondered if there was a way of doing it consistently but I doubt there is. Besides, it is only 1-2 points. Nothing that can't be made up somewhere else in the level. ;)

If I wouldn't struggel that much at the seaweed, or after it, I may would do it consistently^^

Everything must be perfect, especially the the breakingpoint, than you can get a max of about 32 or even 33 after the seaweed.

Consequentely 44 is the maximum being possible without a turbo controller I think!

I counted, and there are 2 extra white cone enemies. So as far as I know there are 7 extra points to get on Japanese Aquas.

By the way, awesome fucking video. 1:08 - 1:25 is pretty much crazy. I never thought of trying the method you used to replace the crashing into rock spamming.

Your use of the brakes are nearly perfect, and it is VERY impressive. Congrats on getting such an excellent score and video up here. There were a few sections which can be improved. Including 2:37 where if your lucky, your torpedo wont destroy the pillar, and you can go back up and down and then spam more by hitting the ground next to it.

Yeah looking at it again, there weren't very many mistakes that were under my control i.e not down to luck in the first half.

The part in the first half which lost me the most points is the spamming at 2:05. I haven't played the JP version enough but I think there is consistently more lag at that point than in the US version. I probably lost about 6-8 points there because of the lag.

The second half had a lot of silly errors but I still got to 150 so it's alright.

hmm wait a second...so there's extra enemies in the Japanese version of Aquas? So, essentially, Y's 448 score could be significantly lower, and if you got your 446 on the US NTSC version of the game, you have officially beaten him. o.o

Hmm yeah, good point. I'm still not sure if the white cone enemies are extra enemies or if they just appear in different places which is the case in a few levels in the JP version. But I am sure that the star fish at 1:20 is a new enemy.

It kind of evens out though because the star fish at 1:38 comes towards you later so you can't really get the Hit+1s off of it that easily. Y is still the best at the second half though.
