Damn. Ken Nordine still doing it. I haven't heard his voice since his "WORD JAZZ" recordings of a half-century ago, about 1958 or '59, I think it was. I still have the LPs. Hang in there, Ken.
I would love to collaborate with you....see my colors video...I just started posting on uTube....your "Colors' is one of my fave all time recordings/pieces.....
That edge of sleep moment is purely transcendent. The mind (only then) exists in both the waking reality and the timeless dream. Thanks for reMINDing me of that.
I have something really somewhat brilliant to say, but the words won't contain their enthusiasm and behave as they're told...so I'll wait to see if they settle down. Please know in the meantime that you are helping me to breathe.
I wish i had your powers.. to fight this insomnia away, to be able to lay; and close my heavy eyes gently, asleep, replete, fully complete, lost in the bliss; without resorting to counting digital sheep.
Alone in the time space continuum, most immaculate is the power of passion, what can i do with naught but a soldiers ration.
Your honor, I confess...the little eight line 5 beats to the line 'maybe the moments' I have accumulated are the defense I have against insomnia. I mumble each line to myself until I have eight, then I write the down on a pad on the night table,
so something will be there when I wake up. Works...I sleep like a log in a sawmill
I listened to Ken Nordine all the time on the radio when the NPR stations played Word Jazz...had to, as we had no TV. Awesome programs, timeless, and valuable pieces of (performance) art.
The programs were so good, and sooo underexposed. More people should know about this.
BEAUTIFUL!!!!

So much sentiment in a line like "used to be news". Wonderful.

This one you shared got me thinking...
my head in my hands...the tell-tale sinking
awake as an owl
I'll watch through the night
your far-outs and ins
go beyond outta sight.....
Always a fan....
Thanx Ken :)

Sweet sleep is where we repair our inner energy systems...only way I know to get rid of lactic acid.
Shaky called sleep 'death's second self'...wish I could
write like Will did. Or like Jimmy Joyce did.

Thanks, Ken, brilliant as always.
Your words always take me miles away, and make me feel right here is alright.
